Chapter V: The Wedding Must Go On

Princess Beatrice’s POV

I've been attacked, but I managed to escape. I ran and find the exit. After some time, I found the exit, and I was surprised to see Alaric.

“What are you doing here?”

"Waiting for you,"

“But why? Are you alone? Where is Livie?”

"Too many questions, I leave Livie behind,"

We were talking, suddenly Alaric pushed me. I was shocked because Alaric drew his sword and attack the person who attacked me.

“Alaric, that’s enough already.  Let’s go,"

He stopped, and I grab his hands and ran away. His hand his trembling.

“Alaric, let’s stop for a bit,"

Alaric stopped and hugged me tightly.

"I am scared you know that? I am so scared and worried about you because I don't want you to disappear like my mother. I don't need their approval. I just want to be with you,"

"I'm so sorry, and I'm thankful that you are here to save me. It's not like you, Alaric. I also want to protect you and sorry that I doubted your age."

I kissed Alaric's forehead and sang him a song to calm him down.

"You’re trembling, so I sang you a song to help calm you down. You know that I also want to be with you. As I said, it's our fight now,"

"Thank you, Beatrice," Alaric said while holding my hand.

“Now, what about this empty box?”

"I have a plan,"

“What is it?”

"It's a secret. I bet you will be surprised,"

"Ok, I'm looking forward to that. Now let's go back to the palace,"

King Alaric’s POV

It's our wedding day today, and I got ready.

I wore a white three-piece suit. I waited for Livie.

"Your highness, Princess Beatrice is getting ready already, let's go now to the venue,"

“Ok”

When I got to the venue, lots of people are already in their seats. I went to the altar and wait for Beatrice. After some time, Beatrice arrived and was walking down the aisle. I was mesmerized by her look. She wore an elegant white gown and had a wreath headdress on. When she is now near me, I held my hand to support her. She smiled at me sweetly.

"Wow, you look beautiful Beatrice,"

"You are looking handsome too Alaric,"

Narrator’s POV

After they complimented each other, the priest started the wedding ceremony.

“Princess Beatrice, can you hand me first the ring that you retrieve from the maze,"

Princess Beatrice gave it to the priest. When the priest opened the box, he was shocked because it’s empty.

“The box is empty, why?”

“When I was seeking for the crown, I saw a box containing the crown, but when I opened it, the ring was not there, and I was ambushed and attacked after that,"

All the people were shocked and gossip about it.

"But we will not give up the ceremony. I will not give up marrying my future queen,"

“Do you have an idea who ambushed you, Princess Beatrice?”

“Yes”

"And who are they?”

"It's the people from the capitol,"

The people are so noisy gossiping about it. The priest got angry and call the guards to arrest the people from the capital. Luckily they are all here.

"Simple. We don't want to accept Princess Beatrice,"

"Arrest them immediately," the priest said

The guards arrested the people from the capitol, and the priest continued the wedding.

“Now, do you King Alaric accept Princess Beatrice to be your queen, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, till death do us part?”

"I do,"

“Do you Princess Beatrice accept King Alaric as your king, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, till death do us part?”

"I do,"

"You may kiss the bride,"

After saying they're I do's, they had 10 seconds of eye contact, and they kiss afterward. After that, Queen Beatrice sang a song to thank the people for coming to their wedding. They were captivated by her voice, the same as King Alaric.

After the wedding ceremony, they went up to the castle and talked.

"So that was your plan after all,"

“Yup, that’s the plan, are you surprised?”

"I'm super surprised, that's why I trust you,"

"Always have trust in me. I know that you were only forced by me, Beatrice. But I hope you will not regret marrying me. I married you because I need you. I just want you to be by my side. And be with each other for a long time,"

"I understand Alaric, that's why I made a promise with you. At first, I was shocked that I will be forced to marry you, but when I met you and known you for a short time, I told myself that I would never leave your side. I will never regret marrying you, Alaric. Now that we are married. Were going to share lots of memories starting today,"

And they held hands together.
