Chapter XXIII: Wedding Preparation

Narrator’s POV

Today they will start preparing for the wedding, and the head priest already knows the date of their wedding. The palace is busy because they have two months to prepare. Two months is enough to prepare, even though it's a royal wedding, and you might say it would take almost a year to prepare, but they made sure that two months of preparation is enough. All the people in the palace worked together.

Today, they called someone to make wedding invitations.

"Your highness, the person who will make your wedding invitations is here,"

"Bring her here,"

"Ok, your highness,"

A woman entered and bowed to the king and queen.

"Good day, your highness. I am Anastasia, and I will be making your wedding invitation,"

"Good day Anastasia. Please take a seat,"

"I already made a printed designs wedding invitation. You only have to pick what design you like, your highness,"

Queen Beatrice observed the designs. Mostly all of the designs are beautiful, but there’s one design that caught her eyes.

"I pick this one,"

“Ok, your highness. How many of these will I make?”

"Alaric and I will be expecting at least 500 guests so you will make 500 invitations,"

"Ok, your highness. Expect it to be done by one week and I will deliver it to you,"

"Ok. Thank you, Anastasia,"

"You're welcome, your highness. I will be going now," Anastasia said and left the office.

"That was fast, Alaric,"

"Yes, it is. A wedding invitation is done and lots of preparation to go.

In the past week, King Alaric and Queen Beatrice planned about who will be the bridesmaid, best man, flower girls, and the ring bearer. The bridesmaid is Queen Beatrice's older sister, Princess Belle. The best man is Butler Livie. The flower girls will be Maria, May, and some girls from the orphanage. The ring bearer is one of the boys at the orphanage.

They also hired a photographer, musicians, florist, videographer, caterer, and a designer for their wedding gown and suit.

It's been a week, and the wedding invitations are being delivered today. Today, Queen Beatrice and King Alaric are doing a pictorial for their photo book, wedding edition. The photo book will be delivered to the guests at their wedding and also the people in town.

“Livie, can you send these wedding invitations to all the guests of our wedding today?"

"Ok, your highness,"

King Alaric’s POV

Beatrice and I are busy preparing for our wedding. The wedding invitations are being sent to our guests, and maybe our photo book will be ready next week and send it to all the guests and the people in town. I know when they will receive the photo book, they will have a questioning look because they already saw us getting married a few years ago, so I planned on telling them the truth.

One week has passed, and Beatrice and I went to town.

"Attention, everyone! King Alaric and Queen Beatrice have something to announce and clarify," Livie said.

The people gather in front of us and waiting for us to say something.

"We would like to announce that Beatrice and I are getting married again. I know that you already saw our wedding photo book,"

The people are waiting for us to tell the truth.

"I think all of you are asking why? We thought of marrying again because, to be honest, the wedding that you witnessed a few years ago is a forced marriage. It is not close to a royal wedding, as you can recall. I forced Beatrice to marry me. I will not say it because I have my reasons. This time I'm going to marry her for real because our feelings are real,"

“We are here personally to clarify some things with all of you because we thought you would be asking why. I hope you all understand our side," Beatrice said.

Beatrice and I hold hands. The people had a satisfied look, and they clapped their hands and say congratulations to us.

“Thank you for being understanding. We just want to be honest with you”

After announcing and clarifying things to them, we went back to the palace.

Queen Beatrice’s POV

Time flies fast, and in two days, it's our wedding day.

For the past two months, Alaric and I cooperated in the preparation for our wedding. We do the cake and wine tasting, we pick foods for the reception, and we choose our wedding gown and suit, and the designer is done sewing it. We also went to the chapel and venue for the reception to monitor, and it's all set and ready. I can't wait.

Today, Alaric and I went to the chapel to have our final rehearsal for the wedding. When we're done rehearsing, we went back to the palace.

"I can't wait, Alaric,"

"Me too, Beatrice. We can't see each other tomorrow because it's a tradition for the bride and groom because it brings bad luck if you see each other one day before the wedding,"

"I know, Alaric. My mother told me about that,"

The next day, Alaric and I didn't see each other because of tradition. I'm just in our room and busied myself. I know Alaric is at his office with Livie accompanying him. He will be sleeping at his office, and I will be sleeping in our room. Livie said that my family would arrive here tomorrow morning. I'm going to see them again for how many years. I miss them so much. 

Tomorrow is our wedding day. I’m excited but nervous at the same time. I can’t wait to kiss Alaric at the balcony of the palace in front of the people after we say our vows because that’s the royal wedding tradition.

The wedding preparation is done.

Tomorrow will be the much-awaited royal wedding.
