Chapter XXIV: The Royal Wedding

Narrator’s POV

Today is the much-awaited royal wedding of King Alaric and Queen Beatrice.

The ceremony will start at exactly noon and ends at 1:00 pm. The reception will be held at the palace.

The chapel and the venue for the reception is ready. The photographers and videographers are setting their cameras. The orchestra is rehearsing at the chapel. The florists are arranging the flowers. Lastly, the caterers are preparing foods for the reception.

For wedding attire, there is a dress code. For men is a dress uniform like a morning coat and suit and for women are a day dress and hat.

There are only 30 minutes left, and the royal wedding will start. King Alaric is already ready and is headed to the chapel and wait for Queen Beatrice to arrive.

Queen Beatrice’s POV

I am here in my dressing room with Julia, Janella, Jonna, and my sister Princess Belle. They are helping me with my hair and make-up. I am already dressed in my wedding gown.

My hair is being groomed and styled.

And they are finishing up with my make-up.

Suddenly, there's a knock on the door, and my father and mother entered.

"Father, mother," I said and hugged them.

"You are looking gorgeous and beautiful, Beatrice, and you are too Belle," my mother said.

"Thank you, mother," Princess Belle said.

"You look like your mother. I remembered those days,"

“Phillip!”

"Hahhaha. Thank you, mother and father,"

"I feel like crying seeing you in that white gown and getting married,"

"Don't cry, mother,"

Suddenly, someone knocked on the door.

"Excuse me, your highness, the wedding will start 20 minutes from now. Please go downstairs and ride the carriage that is waiting for you outside,"

"Let's go, Beatrice,"

"Let me help you with your gown. I'm your bridesmaid after all,"

"Thank you, Belle,"

We went outside the palace and rode the carriage. My sister helped me with my gown. I am happy because my father will escort me.

We arrived at the chapel five minutes before the wedding starts. There are lots of people outside witnessing our wedding. I got out of the carriage, and my sister helped me again with my gown. I am now standing at the door, waiting for it to open.

My father and mother are right beside me, and my sister is lifting my gown. When the door opens, I saw our guests, the music was done by the musicians are the best, and I saw Alaric in front.

I am now walking slowly to Alaric with my father escorting me. The flower girls are walking ahead of me, and they are cute. I feel mixed emotions right now; happy, excited, nervous, and emotional, but I still manage to smile.

King Alaric’s POV

I am now at the chapel and waiting for Beatrice. Any minute now, the wedding will start. I can’t wait to see her. Livie is right beside me because he is my best man.

I wore a three-piece white suit.

Suddenly, the door opened, revealing Beatrice. She looks gorgeous and stunning as ever. She is now walking down the aisle, going to where I am with her father escorting her. I feel mixed emotions right now.

When Beatrice and her father are now in front of me, her father said something to me.

"Promise me to make her happy and cherish her,"

"I will,"

Her father taps my shoulder and lends Beatrice's hand to me. Beatrice and I looked at each other and smiled genuinely.

Narrator’s POV

The royal wedding had started.

"In the name of God, father, son, and the holy spirit. We have come together to witness the re-marriage of King Alaric and Queen Beatrice. Marriage is a gift of God's creation. We pray that the Holy Spirit will guide them and fulfill God's purposes for the whole of their earthly life,"

After the head priest said that, the music plays and they all sing a song. It is a song in every royal wedding.

When they were singing, King Alaric grab the veil that is covering the face of Queen Beatrice and puts it behind her, and he is seeing Queen Beatrice's face.

After some minutes, it’s time for the I dos and vows. Another priest appeared.

“King Alaric, will you take Queen Beatrice again as your lawfully wedded wife and queen. In sickness and in health, till death do us part?”

"I do,"

“Queen Beatrice, will you take King Alaric again as your lawfully wedded husband and king. In sickness and in health, till death do us part?”

"I do,"

"You may now put the rings in your ring finger and state your vows, starting with Queen Beatrice,"

"Alaric, I will not take this long. When I first met you, you are childish, arrogant, and rude. I never expected that I will be forced to marry a guy that is six years younger than me. You are my unexpected fiancé to start and now my husband. We started hating each other, but we fell in love for real. I wanted to protect and be with you till the day I die. I love you,"

After saying her vow, Queen Beatrice put the ring to King Alaric’s ring finger. Now, it’s King Alaric’s time to state his vow.

"Beatrice, I forced you to marry me because I wanted someone to be with me and bring light to my dark world. When I first met you, I told myself that you are beautiful. I am arrogant to you at first, but I learned to like and love you. You've taught me how to appreciate little things. In short, you changed me. I promised myself to become taller than you, and I achieved that goal because I am now taller than you. I can now protect you. I don't care about our age gap, what's important is we love each other. Thank you for everything. I promise that I will make you happy and cherish you till the day I die. I love you,"

After saying his vow, King Alaric put the ring in Queen Beatrice’s ring finger.

When they are done stating their vows, they feel emotional.

"I am proud to announce to you, King Alaric and Queen Beatrice. You may now kiss the bride,"

They will share their kiss at the palace in front of the people. They went out of the chapel. When they are outside, lots of people congratulated and cheered for them. They are now headed to the palace. They are riding an open carriage with four white horses pulling it.

King Alaric told Queen Beatrice something.

"That ring is my mother's wedding ring. Before she died, she gave the ring to me and said to give this to my future wife and queen. I'm also wearing my father's wedding ring,"

"This is your mother's wedding ring? Wow, it's beautiful. I'm lucky to wear it,"

The ring is a custom made diamond ring with two small stones beside it.

When they arrived at the palace, they went up the veranda, and they saw lots of people who want to witness them kiss each other. They eyed each other and kissed passionately. After they kissed, the people cheered, and they waved their hands to them.

They went down to get a picture with their family. After that, they changed their outfits and head to the reception. There, they ate and lots of fun, and the rest is history.

The royal couples are happy because they are now married for real. They will enter another chapter of their life.

At last, they are now married for real and not being forced.

The royal wedding was amazing, especially their vows to each other.
