CHAPTER - 11 Mike enquires about her night out

Dina got down from the bus and wiped the imaginary sweat from her forehead.

"Dina, Dina... I warn you! Do not try to act over smart in front of me. I am your mother, I know everything..." Kara said.

But all she could hear was the beep sound from her phone. It made her realize that Dina had ended the call long ago. She shook her head in disappointment but did not have the heart to call her daughter once again and scold her. So, she let her be for the time being.

Dina walked inside the mall and stood in front of the boutique. It may look very tiny compared to other shops in the ADN mall but once you enter, you will find that it actually has two floors.

She bought this shop along with Mike after he graduated from college. She named it DaMe designers. She took the first and last two letters of their names and came up with that name overnight.

"DaMe, here I come! Let us have a fruitful day, today as well!" Dina shouted while jumping up and down to cheer up.

She stretched her hands above her head and kicked her legs to get rid of all the fatigue she was feeling a minute ago. She kissed the door once and leaned on it as if she was giving the store a big hug.

Thankfully, no one was nearby to give her a judging look. As it was still too early, not many shops were open. Hardly, a few early birds had opened their shops but they were busy re-stocking and rearranging the items before the crowd would start to accumulate in the mall.

"Should I ask Mike to get some fruits for me to eat?” Dina wondered.

“Or some good homemade breakfast? He will really be surprised if he knew that I came so early to work today! So, I am sure that he will get me anything I want. Hehehe..."  In between her giggles, she unlocked the door.

She designs clothes for all ages while Mike takes care of everything else related to their shop. From sales to cleaning the toilet fell on his head. As she was homeschooled by Kara and Emma from a young age, she was not associated much with the outside world.

One day Mike noticed her enthusiasm for drawing different weird-looking styled clothes. Instantly, he decided to join the fashion designing course instead of the management degree that he wanted to do so badly.

Since Dina could not go out much because of her health conditions, Mike helped her to fulfill her dreams. He would give her all the notes he took in the class every day, for her to self learn at home. He would even bring lots of books related to fashion designing from the college library.

So, somehow with the help of Dina, he finished all his projects successfully and even graduated with good marks. While she gained the knowledge related to the fashion field without even going to college or getting a certificate.

Right now, she is one of the upcoming top designers but she always works behind the scenes. Once they had set up the shop successfully, Dina forced Mike to continue his dream by joining the university once again. Currently, he was in his final semester for his master's degree in Fashion business management.

Once she came inside the shop, she noticed the clothes she designed hanging on the racks. She felt proud and praised herself while circling the shop. She touched every dress she designed.

"Haaa… You are already two years old! But you still look like a newborn. You are my darling baby," She said while blowing kisses at her shop.

"Everything will look like new if someone cleans it every morning!" Mike stated sarcastically. 

He hit her with the cap that she dropped yesterday night near the dark alley because of the ordeal with Adrian.

"Ohh... My baby, cutie pie... I thought I lost you and you know how much I missed you? Where did you find her?" Dina hugged the cap and planted a kiss on it.

Mike rolled his eyes and hit her head once again while mouthing, 'Madwoman'.

"I found it on the roadside. Where were you last night? I was roaming around all night near the bar and then I even went to check on almost every police station. But I couldn’t find you anywhere. Where is your phone? Why was I unable to reach you yesterday?" Mike inquired.

As if she had just remembered her phone, she pretended to search for it in her pocket. 

"It looks like I dropped it somewhere. Anyway, why do we have to talk about the past? Just let it go, am I not here with you now? Let us get to work and not waste our morning hours. We have a lot to do for the upcoming fashion week." Dina stated and patted his shoulder.

"Dina, stop! If you won't tell me the truth then I will inform Aunt Kara about your night out." Mike warned her while looking at the phone that was peeking out of her pocket.

‘Does she take me for a fool? She must have done something wrong. I am sure that she is hiding something from me.’ Mike thought.

"Why are you involving my mother now? Don't you know after Emma left for a faraway country she was heartbroken? Do you really have to trouble that sweet old lady just to get revenge on me?" Dina complained.

"The old lady is your mother. She deserves to know where her daughter goes and whom she is spending the night with. Emma did not go to a faraway country where there is no return ticket. She went to an underdeveloped country to help the ones who need medical assistance. It's not like she cannot come back at all. Tell me the truth, how many people did you bite yesterday?" Mike looked straight into her eyes and asked her.

As the situation looked like there would be no escape without telling him, she lifted her hand. But instead of showing him the numbers, she flicked her finger on his forehead. Then without looking behind, she ran towards her room.

"Ouch! You are really getting out of  control nowadays!" Mike exclaimed and started to chase behind her.

Even after chasing for a long time, he could not get hold of her. So he stopped in between while catching his breaths. He held the wall on the sides for support.

"Maybe I should just call aunt Kara…" He lifted his phone while pretending to make a call.

"All right! All right, I will tell you the truth.” Dina finally agreed and came near him.

“Tell how many and who are all the people you bit? Do you have their phone numbers?” Mike asked her.

“It is actually one! Only one! Are you happy now?" She asked while shaking her index finger from left to right.

“Even if I am unhappy, I don’t think you care about it. So what is his contact number?” He asked.

“I don’t know. I don’t even remember his face,” She told him half-lie and half-truth.

She did really not know his phone number. But she could clearly remember his face as she had just seen him a couple of hours ago. Still, she did not want to tell Mike that as it would not make any difference.

Even though Mike understood that she cannot remember anything that had happened after she drank alcohol, he could not help but ask her once.

"How many times, do I have to tell you to stop drinking such heavy liquors! Look at you now, you are turning into an animal day by day! You don’t even remember what you did to him? You don’t have his phone number? How do you expect me to handle this situation?" He became frustrated. 

"No, you are wrong. This happens only at night, so it is night by night and not day by day. I don't touch alcohol during day time at all. Are you now suggesting that I should start drinking even at day time? Then do you want me to drink even at this time of the day?" She asked innocently with sparkling eyes.

"No… Are you stupid? How can you talk about drinking when we have just begun the work?” He stopped speaking and looked at her as he felt something was not right with the way she spoke.

She was holding back her laugh by hiding the mouth using both of her hands. Her gleamy eyes made her look mesmerizing. It was no wonder he had been warned by his parents all the time. The more mature a sorceress becomes, the most beautifully dangerous being they will be!

"Stop laughing and listen to me seriously at least for once," Mike begged.

"Yes boss," Dina saluted and stood in attention.

Mike smiled and shook his head as he could still not get adjusted to her childish behavior yet. He came from the knight family who swore to protect the Red Fuchsia sorceress family. They had been serving them for several thousands of years now.
