CHAPTER - 6 Grownup Dina

Now, Millie was utterly disappointed with this foolish daughter. She looked at Mason and let out a sigh. Mason smiled at her and mouthed, 

"It's OK, Mom! Let her be."

All she could only hope now is that in the future her daughter, Grace would learn a lesson from her very own daughter. At the same time, she did not want it to be a hard lesson that would break her daughter's heart.

Both babies grew up in different circumstances with different mothers. One grew up to be an arrogant soul while the other became a more open-minded person.

"Hey, Dina! What's up? You are here again without me!" A loud voice was heard from behind that made Dina scrunch her teeth.

She slowly turned her head around while sipping the hard liquor, only to look at the person with disdain. She could not believe that she would get caught so soon and easily.

"Hey, Mike, what's up, dude!" She patted her close friend, Mike's shoulder, and asked while still gritting her teeth.

"I am fine, girl! But did I not warn you earlier that you can never come outside alone to drink all by yourself?" Mike asked irritatingly.

He could not believe her guts to come here alone! She had even started to drink. Does she really not understand her situation? Or was it all a pretense? He couldn’t conclude.

"I waited for you, like what? Four hours? It was you, who did not come even after I called you several times." Dina complained while trying to sit comfortably on the bar stool.

Mike moved towards the high chair next to her and sat on it. The bartender came towards them and asked,

"Is it cold water with a lot of ice as usual for you, sir?"

"Yes, please! Thank you! You know me the best, unlike someone next to me" Mike replied while glaring at Dina.

"I really cannot understand one thing! If you don't mind, can I ask you a question?" The bartender asked.

“Sure! Go ahead,” Mike just nodded his head and gave her the approval.

He checked the chair next to him just to make sure that the drunk Dina did not run away. When Dina noticed him glancing in her direction, she raised the glass and gave him a cheer.

He shook his head in disappointment and concentrated on the bartender in front of him.

"All I wanted to ask was when your friend here always orders hard liquor almost every day, why do you on the other hand never drink any alcohol at all. I am just curious. If you do not want to tell me, that is absolutely fine." The bartender said with a sexy smile.

Once again he looked at Dina who was trying to control her laugh while holding the mouth with her hands. When she noticed that he was looking at her, she nudged him and said,

“Go ahead, tell her…”

"Oh! That's simply because my friend over here…" He poked at Dina's head and then turned towards the bartender,

"She has a very bad habit after alcohol hits her system. She would actually go mad and bite people. So if she is ever left alone after alcohol took over her body, then there will be a queue of people who are bitten by this dog.."

"What? I have heard about several crazy things before but this is the first time I heard something so ridiculous!" The bartender laughed out loud as she could not believe the story that Mike told her.

It was clearly visible that she did not buy his story. So he moved his body near her and said,

"That is still not the worst part! But what I am going to say next, is the highlight. If you are a weak hearted person then tell me right now. I won’t share those details with you," Mike said and ogled at her chest. 

Dina kicked his legs and made him sit back on the chair. She held his ears and asked,

“Do you know that was sexual harassment?”

“Ouch! Ouch! Let me go, you are hurting me,” Mike said and tried to pull his pitiful ears from her tight grip.

Dina ignored his plea and turned towards the bartender.

“You should never allow such hungry wolves near you. Or else they would eat you alive.” She warned her.

“Oh! I am fine if I am eaten by this handsome hungry wolf,” The bartender replied and held Mike’s hand near her chest.

Dina let go of his ears and shook her head disappointedly. 

“Let’s ignore her. She is just jealous that I may get into a relationship before she could. So let’s get back to the topic that we were discussing earlier,” Mike said and leaned closer to the bartender’s face.

"You know the bites she gives has side effects. Whichever human she bites, they become crazy for her. Later she would get irritated with them. She would start hitting them and make them come back to their senses. There were cases where people had lost a tooth or two and also there were some who had broken bones. The list is so long that it cannot be explained in a few minutes." He stopped talking and tried to hint at her.

"The last part is quite unbelievable but the first part that you said I think anyone would go mad if someone bites them. And especially if it is a drunken lady then…" She shook her head and stopped saying anything further.

"I know right! I am tired of her being taken to the police station. Every time she goes there, my phone would ring begging me to bail her out soon. If it was not for her mother's request, I would have not even looked in her direction long ago. So, if we need to enjoy ourselves then we need to make sure that she is safe inside her home." Mike explained and winked at her.

"You should consider letting go of such a crazy friend. But how about we both go for dinner after my shift is over?" The bartender passed a small piece of paper with her phone number in it while pouting her lips.

He slipped the paper into his pockets instantly and said, "Sure, why not! Once I drop this lunatic at her home, I will give you a call and then come here to pick you up."

"Sure. sounds good!" She said and walked away to attend to the other customers.

He looked at her voluptuous figure and whistled. He could not believe his luck today. Finally, he is ready to say goodbye to his singlehood and enter into a hot relationship.

'At least you are useful to me at such times, Dina!' He thought and turned towards her.

The minute Mike turned around to look at Dina, he found that she was not sitting on the chair next to him. He jumped down from the barstool and searched around the bar like a crazy man.

He ran outside while cursing, "Shit! Shit! Shit! Dina! When, the hell, did you escape? Where are you? You better come out of your hiding.”

Even after shouting for a long time, he did not get any response. He thought, ‘I am definitely dead this time! Haaaa… As predicted, she will be the death of me!’

He held his head and checked outside the bar. When he noticed the security guards, he walked near them and asked, "Did you see a tall girl with black hair and brown eyes pass from here?"

"There were several girls, who went out with the same description. Do you have any other specific details, sir?" The security guard inquired.

"Yes, she was wearing a black dress with a weird looking cap on her head that had our company's logo." He took out his phone and showed him the photo of the cap.

The security guard nodded his head but looked at him as if he was some weird guy. He wondered, ‘If he had a photo of her cap, why did he not capture her face instead? Only weird kids come to this bar. Maybe I should change my job sooner.’

It was not like Mike did not want to take her photo. It’s just that, it was nearly impossible to click a good photo of hers. All the photos would come out blurred or she would look like a completely different person on those photos.

Mike never expected that the cap she designed would come to his help in such a situation. He praised her creative work inside his head for making such a cuckoo cap. If not for that, it would have been difficult for him to search for her today.

He completely ignored the fact that how he dissed her a few days back for wasting her time to create a hat that no one would buy. when she showed him the initial design of that cap, he even puked.
