LOGINTwo weeks is almost gone and our lives has been a living hell. We have been dancing from a test to another, to practicals and to presentations. Honestly, without anything regret I say these lecturers are evil. How can all of them be so inconsiderate. How can there be five test in a day. As if that was not enough, there would also be practicals from Monday to Friday 4pm till 7pm. Haba!
Dele and I haven't had time to talk since we exchanged contact or since I had collected his contact. I just happened to see him around flying like a plane with no wings. I think he is okay to be seen with. maybe it's not such a bad idea to try a relationship with him after all. But Joshua, Joshua is more cute than him Sha.
Finally, our tests was concluded. The next test would be towards the end of the semester or, any other time these devils feel like conducting them again whichever way, I know I am free for the moment. Shade jumped and landed on her bed, I couldn't help but do the same while we both condemned our lecturers together especially Dr. Awo, he was a devil in disguise.
Shade's phone began to ring has usual and she needed not to tell me before I knew who it was. This time, I didn't feel hate, after all Dele is just right there in that corner. All I need do is just pick him up. But, Joshua can be so caring. He is just a dream come through for every woman. Only if he can... What am I even saying? There is Dele right in the corner.
Shade hung up her call and gave a very long sigh. I couldn't help but wonder what has gone wrong.
" Ah ah! You well so?" [Are you okay?] - I asked quickly.
"It's Joshua."
"What about him?"
"He's been disturbing me about coming over to my place but I always told him I have a roommate. It's not very easy to visit me"
"Let him come naw I will call Dele to take me out self." - I said with a side look
"Oh! Yes, I forgot. Tell me, something exciting is sparkling between both of you right?" - she asked giving a continuous wink and a bouyant laugh
"Mumu! [Idiot] something sparkling kor, something burning ni . Nothing is sparking anywhere Mrs sparkling."
"But I don't understand. Cynthia it's been two weeks o"
" Ehn ! Nigba na wa nko?" [ Even So ?]
"Cynthia it's too long na"
"I will Sha call him today abi"
"What is today? Where is your phone? Oya call him now now, Be like say Dem jam your head for wall." [Like your head was bashed against the wall] - She insisted.
I picked my phone from the bed and I dialed Dele's number. It rang for two times now but he isn't picking up. I felt to just drop the phone and never call back but Shade insisted I try for the last time. According to her, the third time always work. The phone kept ringing, he eventually picked up his call. His was talking so solemn and with outstanding accent. It was just as if I was speaking to the MTN customer care.
"Hello" -He said.
"Hello"- I responded
"Yeah, may I know who I am speaking with?" -he asked quickly.
I immediately hung up. I felt it was stupid. How can I give a guy the first call. I flinged the phone on the bed and collapse with it almost immediately. Shade with no hesitation picked my phone and dialed the last number.
"Thats how you go dey behave like say one mechanic don use screw driver twist your brain ". [You are something else] -she frowned
The phone began to ring as she placed it on loud speaker.
"Hello" -she said smiling
"Hey, hello, may I know who I am speaking with?" - he responded
"Hmmm... Guess" -she insisted
"Hmmm... I am actually bad at guessing"-he answered smiling
"Well.. this is Cynthia, remember me?"
"Yeah, sure. I wouldn't forget the person who almost ate me alive, would I?" -he chuckled
"Don't tell me you got scared" -she mocked
"Who wouldn't? Your claws were too sharp." - he laughed
"Where are you?" - she asked
"Just here, in my hostel" - he replied
"Perhaps we can hang out?" - she asked
"Certainly, I'd love that. What time?" - he asked
"Okay, 4pm?" - she asked.
"Lovely idea. Let's meet at captian cook" - he answered quickly
"Okay, looking forward to seeing you" -she said and disconnected.
"See, what's so special in that you cannot do."- she said
"Na you know. Na 4pm bah? Make I go fresh up" [ That's your problem. The time is 4pm right? Let me go freshen up] - I said as I danced to the bathroom.
It wasn't long around 3pm Shade received a call and she immediately dashed out to bring in her visitor. Joshua came in and immediately greeted me with a formed tiny voice and a rising intonation.
He looks so cute in his joggers and silver necklace. He sat on Shade's bed while Shade was trying to make him comfortable. I kept on stealing his look wishing he had only come to visit me and me alone.
How time flies it's already almost 4pm. I wore my short skinny gown which reveals all my figures, my pancakes, my beautiful fragance and also my favourite wig. I need no one to tell me before I knew I look angelic.
I stood by the standing mirror and turning from side to side accessing myself. I know I look so magnificent and ravishing. I know I am a celebrity, a model and a goddess. Who wouldn't want to steal my looks? I looked into the mirror one more time and caught Joshua lost in his imagination. I know he was thinking about me as his eyes were fervently laid on me. I know by now he realized his mistake.
I stepped out of the room and placed a call to Dele notifying him I was on the way.
It's good to hear when Jeruel told me about the advances she played towards Joshua. Wouldn't shade die of frustration if she finds out how her prince charming was dancing around the beautiful girl she wasn't?Just has Shade assured me about his whereabouts, Jeruel confirmed he was already at J and J bar at seven in the evening. She was already seated in the darkened angle of the bar and watched him sit on the bar stool. Slowly and slowly she walked and sit next to him, tossed a glass of whiskey to him as he gulped it down, and slapped the glass on the bar before turning his face away.I knew Jeruel was the perfect lady for the job. Not only was she beautiful, she was a girl I trust can play her cards right. Now, what man can go all the way without falling in the shackles of a Queen of beauty Queens, a Princess and ambassador of awesomeness.
Dusk was falling rapidly. The sun had already set behind the mountains, and the sky had been drained of colors. It was already the close of a day, wasn't it some seconds ago the day started?Shade and I had just arrived from class. I could see her lips moving but all she said only went through my ear and came out the other. How can I make Joshua mine became a question that seemed a puzzle.“Maybe I need to keep a close watch on him. But, I mean, I don't even know about him than he is dating Shade. I don't know where he lives or anything else.” I took a slow, deep breath as my mind lingered more in thought.“Or, should I just ask her? Would it be a good idea?”Shade was completely carried away by her phone as she continued to laugh in mirthfulness artlessly flowing. I wondered what was so funny but I wasn't that curious to find out. The curiosity I had was tha
It seemed fast but Jeruel and I were able to get along as we have so many things in common. Though, it has just been two weeks it seemed we have known each other forever and every day In class, I would always go find her, sit with her, and we would talk as much as we want to.She told me a lot from her past relationships; how guys had promised her heaven and earth only to get between her legs. I could deduce from all she told me that she was a girl who loves the physical appearance. Of course, who wants to be with someone with a gorilla face? She was what I termed 'Queen of beauty Queens'. The beauty of a woman must be seen from her eyes. She walked in beauty, like the night of cloudless climes and starry skies. Her magnificent physique was a perfect representation of a goddess. Who dares look at her and not have a second look?
The morning came slowly but the long night was a splendid one. It was nice to hear the birds chorus in harmony and the disturbing voices of other villa mates again. I reflected back into yesterday with a curse that almost vomited from my mouth."Why on earth will a Hausa woman call my line asking for a Muhammad? Why on earth will a strange number not call and the caller should be one of the richest person in Africa? Must it be always a Hausa? Abi e no wan better..."The more I tried to reflect more backward the more Shade's snore hinders my thinking."But wait, how can a lady sleeps so comfortably and snore like a buzz saw. Haven't Joshua seen this side of this girl yet? Some guys can be tasteless Sha, in as much you are under skirt, they must woo you abi, that's what they came to this life to do?" - I muttered."So you love Joshua and can do anything and everything for him. But can h
The atmosphere was glaring and azured. It shined beautifully on each and everyone as students began to troop in and out of the school environment. Shade and I had just resumed like every other students. Such beautiful smile that rested on our faces formed a furrowed brown and we waved to each person as we walked pass them. I couldn't help but imagined what the semester would be like, would it be as unfitting or unacademic like the last semester?Dele and I haven't spoken since the last time I ended things with him. I didn't miss him though, maybe just his touch. He was a guy that really knew how to satisfy his lady. But that wasn't enough, I wanted more. All through the holiday, he would call on few times but I would intentionally not pick his call until he stopped calling for good and that was fine with me.Shade and Joshua are still the love birds soaring high in the high heavens. Shade seemed not to ever grow tired of him and he will no
The breeze injected with multiple endurance as I crawled out of bed to brush my teeth. Though dawn came slowly, it was followed by the brilliant blue sky of morning. I disconnected the charger from my phone since it was already fully charged. It was Saturday and all I could think about was how and only how I would get my dirty clothes washed. If I were to be home, using a washing machine would have been easy and my problem would have been solved in just no time. But here in school, my hands will have to do the job. I carried out my laundry, it was a heavy load but still I have no choice than to do it by hand.I started hand-washing my clothes, squeezing each one hard and harder in the bucket. This is evey students frustration, shouldering the worries of washing by hand. Particularly in my hostel, everyone were at one angle or the other with their hands as their savior. Shade was no difference too, she was there in a corner battling the mou
