Chapter 41~ Back story

Tears rolled down Isere cheek when the harsh reality dawn to her. She had just gotten the test result from the doctor and her hunch was right, she was two months and two weeks pregnant.

She tightened her eyes as the tears rolled down. Mrs Williams heaved a sigh, watching Isere as she cried.

"Kate," She called out after adjusting her eye glasses. Isere couldn't bring herself to look at her in the eyes, she didn't even know what to say.

"How? What happened? Who is the father?" Mrs Williams asked. Isere was speechless.

She was pregnant for the love of her life but pregnancy was the last thing on her list, she didn't want to he pregnant.

Her parents were definitely not going to let this go, she thought. She needed her education and if she didn't come up with a plan, things will turn sour for her.

"Talk to me, what is really the problem?" Mrs Williams asked.

"I mean your parents have always been good example to this church, they've always trained you right, so what went wrong?" Mrs Williams asked.

Isere scoffed, "Good examples indeed."

"I don't get, You have always dressed appropriately and knew the word of God than any other youth of your age, you also have not been caught in a scandal as you are always in church whenever you are around..." Mrs Williams trailed off.

"Were you raped?" She asked with a widened eyes.

Raped? God forbid, Isere said within her.

"My parents aren't who you think they are ma," Isere spat out.

"Who are they then because I have known your family even before you were born and i know they are disciplinarians." Mrs Williams spoke.

"Evil people you mean to say?" Isere corrected in a way which baffled Mrs Williams.

"Kate, I want you to be honest with me right now, you know you can trust me right?" Mrs Williams said to Isere, her voice held assurance in it.

"Speak to me, what happened to you and what is really going on? Who got your pregnant?" Mrs Williams voice came in a whisper but it was sooting and held assurance too.

Isere knew she could trust Mrs Williams. She wanted to let it all out today after all the truth behind her pregnancy would be out sooner or later.

Isere took a deep breath, she closed her eyes first and then opened it.

"My parents  have always locked me in," Isere whispered; she didn't know why she said that but she wanted to let it all out. Let the pain out of her chest.

"What did you say?" Mrs Williams asked her wanting to confirm if she heard was true.

"All my life, I have been locked in. I wasn't allowed to visit fruends neither were they allowed to visit me. I was made to read the Bible and deprived from watching film too. I always got beaten when I mentioned words like sex and love." Isere began licking her bottom lips

Mrs Williams was confused, she didn't know why Isere was telling her all this and the fact she was always locked in baffled her.

"My mother told me a child of God doesn't say words that are bad and they don't talk while their parents talk or else they'd go to hell fire. My mother told me a child of God doesn't go to party because those are the things of the world forbidden by God and they made sure to make me follow them without giving me valid reasons." Mrs Williams didn't know where Isere was heading too but she kept listening.

"Have you ever felt suffocated before? Have you ever wish your parents died before?" Mrs Williams gasped when she heard what Isere said.

"Blood of Jesus!" She chanted. "Why would you wish so?" She asked with concern.

"Ma, I have had the worse childhood ever. My mother told me to run away whenever I saw men, she told me not to say the word sex without telling me a good reason. All my life i learnt most

"Do you know what my mother told me when I asked her what sex was for the first time?" Isere scoffed.

"She said I was learning bad things and I'd go to hell fire, like who says such to an eleven years old girl?!" Isere huffed.

"When I started my period, my mother just taught me how to wear the pad but she never told me the do's and don't!"

"She told me what to do and not to do with no reasons and which curious child wouldn't want to know what it entails? My friends said sex was good and people have sex, it's no crime! And I believed."

"My mother never told me a good reason to be a virgin and why it was important to be a virgin, you know the kids of the days are inquisitive and we don't get please until we satisfy our inquisitive minds. I finally knew good from bad but I wanted to do what my friend did because I never got the right orientation."

Isere kept narrating her mistreatment and her mother real attitude to Mrs Williams. Mrs Williams was in awe of what she hard but she was curious to know the father of Isere's child.

"You mean, your parents did all this to you?" Mrs Williams asked. "God is good. I never expected your parents to be this way. I mean the world changed and the teachings too." Mrs Williams spoke still baffled by what she heard.

"But you know, doing all what your parents forbade you from doing isn't a good thing when you knew it within you that they were right although they didn't tell you valid reasons." Mrs Williams reasoned.

Isere laughed hysterically, "I didn't even go extreme, because the extreme one is about to blow your mind!" Isere deadpanned.

"I don't get Kate, what is it? And who ia the father of your child?" Mrs Williams asked.

Isere chortled in a way that confused Mrs Williams. "What is funny Kate?" Mrs Williams asked.

"My parents are devil's in human form, the ones who want to protect their position by using extreme means. To be of good examples, they went extreme with me, not making me have my say in anything and making me do what I didn't want to do by all mean!" Isere raised her voice.

Thinking of it pained her and she felt at ease letting out her pains. She wakes to keep speaking and what she had in mind was one of the most devious plan ever and she wouldn't mind enacting it.

"Who is the father?" Mrs Williams was beginning to have an hint of what Isere was about to say.

"I lost my virginity at sixteen to a beast, a monster and a devious looking man," Isere scoffed.

Mrs Williams gasped, she excused herself to get water from the water dispenser as she knew what Isere had in mind was really going to blow her mind.

She took a deep breath after drinking the glass of water then proceeded to taking her seat. She sat down, she used her handkerchief to wipe her face before ushering her to speak up.

"I lost my virginity at age sixteen to the man who was the perfect example to others in this church but was a beast at night to me."

"I lost my virginity to a man who called himself a child of God and a man of God who had sinister agenda at heart and had used that to oppress me at night."

"The man I lost my virginity to is also the man responsible for my pregnancy..." She trailed off.

"That man is..." She trailed off then bowed her head

"My father!"
