My muscles tense up, he should just at least cut this off if this is really a staring competition. Who am i kidding?

  

Thank goodness, Violet is my saving star she doesnt just know it.

Drew turns to face her as she grabs his arm with her elbow and they both walk into the class proper to take their sits.

   

   

I mentally thank my stars as I walk over to pick up my bag and move my books to two seats away besides Tony. He's so attentive to what he's reading.

"Hey" he turns to me

His brows knitted and full eyes open to reveal his dark brownish eye colour 

I smile to him abruptly..

 "So...." he mouths intensely...I dont really understand if he meant why did I move to him or...

 He gives a warm smile "i mean...I just wanted to know about you like your department..."

his warm gaze was fixed on my jugular notch or clavicle...around that side though

 " oh oh...biochemistry" I laugh timidly

"Your choice of study or school gave you that?" He asked

"No...i wanted to study medicine you know" he nods and I go on

"Not like I didnt pass well but I was just eight points towards the cutoff for the course so I got biochemistry and then I thought to myself, every disappointment is a blessing in disguise you know..so why not just go for it afterall I knew I didnt have it in mind to ever go through those series of tensing exams we took just for admission into college..."

 

He laughs "i feel you..trust me...I'm a student of medicine, year one but this is not my first time in school..."

 

Wow...now I really want to get to know this guy like there's this comfortable feeling i got just now by being around him unlike jayy...irritating creature

  

 

I move my ass a little to sit closer to him but fix my eyes on him as if to go unnoticed what I just did.

He goes on about how he wrote his ssce exams two years back..seeking for medicine but got dentistry in the new American university and am like "what?? So why are you here?" I couldnt even hide my curiosity 

  

My attention drifts to my phone as it beeps and I check the screen to view a notification on youtube...not the right time so I tuck it the middle of my book

 

"Well...I'm passionate about medicine and so i decided to sit for another exam while having dentistry in NAU"

  

My head reflexly nod, this guy must be a book worm then

  

"You know... you..in this uni you can actually transfer to medicine but it wont be so easy to come by unless..." i cut him off

Eyes popping "what?" With my lips forming an o shape.

     

"See everything in life is about grace"

   

Awww...a religious one..now i love that spirit..maybe thats what brought about the comfort i felt.

  

"But you see....you need to play your own part and also have connection in higher places...I know of someone in my department who got half points away from the cut off mark but he has connection with the vc so you see...he got medicine...and you very well know how competitive the course is in this country"

   

Now my muscles loosen up and I place my arm on the desk while resting my head on my hand.

   

"Tony, the thing is I wanted medicine but after gaining admission and resuming school..I've realized there's no zeal to study medicine no more" i tell him

"And my course advisor enlightened us on biochemistry, how intriguing it is and 

the various areas of specialization"

"My chesst..stoppppet" as he trys to say while laughing. 

   

Whats so funny though

"i mean these course advisors are so good with twisting fresher's mind though"he informs me

"Well...i would like to study any other medically related course but certainly not medicine..maybe medical laboratory science or physiotherapy or perhaps, radiography"i tell him

  

"Yea...yea...i feel you...there are other mice courses that would be of high benefit for you when you're through..and you would definitely love them...i just hope you're the book worm type..thats the way to survive any medical course..."

I nod my head as I smile...actually I am really intelligent like I was always second or among top three through out my years in high school

  

A few minutes passed and he keeps on updating me on everything about choice of study and college life.

"You can do it" he taps my scapula and I smile at how positive he is and to think of the fact that I just got encouraged from someone I really just met in a day..amazing.

 

I flinch when I hear a loud thud. I'm guessing it is from the people down floor maybe the desk banged on the ground.

    

We got so lost in our talk that i didnt realize Priscy was in the row behind with Zana, Violet, Drew while Jayy was back to his seat. 

  

I close my eyes as I'm trying to dilute all the information he just fed me.

"dont think about it too much.."he whispers in my ear and i jump in my seat, realizing how close he is too me now

"it will work out if you want it.."his voice pronounces lowly.
