Chapter 26

Trips- luh kel 🎶

I stay silent digesting our talk on life as I 

look out from the passenger window. He was right in every sense, plus its kind of new that I find someone who falls into such moods.

“The beach” i shriek and almost reach over to pull him into a hug but my subconscious reminds me of myself.

“Yeah right” he smirks

He pulls over at the parking lot and we both get down. 

Then he walks over to where i am standing by the door, admiring the great view from down here.

“I go to the beach to get away from all my troubles that are bothering me” he says looking down to me and holding my hand to him

“To feel the sun burn your skin and just get up to walk about ten feet down until you get to the brisk cool ocean and cool off. Its fun yet relaxing” he smiles 

I nod in agreement to that.

“I told you if you’re weird, then that makes two of us.” 

He stands in front of me as if daring to speak against him but I stay quiet .

He pulls out my hand and leads me over to the small beach house surrounded by its beach garden.

Walking in, we assess every bit of it from the lounge that had an adjoining washroom to the bathroom. The bed is quite big and looks comfyy enough

“We might be needing the hut for tonight since we got here later than usual”

I agree,” very true because i cannot even begin to imagine the traffic if we were to leave today”

Walking over to the balcony, I can literally imagine the feel of the grainy sand under my feet and the sun warmth.

“Let’s go now” i plea like a little two years old sister

He chuckles reaching out for my hand

“You need to change first” he says to me

I think I’m a little taken back by how sweet Drew can be. 

Thats why you should never judge a book by its cover because after that first day we met.

I know I was already almost irritated by him but somehow the wind has a way of pulling us up close in situations.

He leads the way when we get outside and really I just want to relax and soak up the environment around me.

“In my opinion, I dont think any essay nor painting can give a detailed description of the true beauty of the beach “ i tell him

“I know right” he smiles

I’m getting more comfortable than the already odd way around Drew. I dont want to think about that now, so I’ll just pack it to one side of my mind.

In no time, i get a swim suit thats like a mini dress because i dont want to wear a bikini and expose anything to Drew. At least we’re not that close just yet. Taking me out has got nothing to do with winning my trust. I also get a canvas and some paint. I guess I may be driven to do some work which I am really not sure about just yet.

“Oouu...you paint” more of a statement than a question 

“I paint. Yes. But it’s more of the simple art kind” I giggle lightly and he does as well

He pays off and we walk back to our hut to drop off the stuffs and change.

“Ready?”

“Two hundred percent” i answer quick enough and start running forward

“Heyyy..” he yells

I stop abruptly and he sort of jogs to me almost crashing into me

“You dont just leave like that” he says

“What why..i dont need a baby sitter” 

“Are you serious right now” his expression is sort of appearing to be hurt

Hurt? No...i cant imagine it of all people to be hurt. Ok..maybe I was mean putting it that way.

“No i mean...forget that” i shake my head

“Dont just do me like that again” he pulls up my hand and starts running.

It is hard for me to catch up so i pull away running to him and just like a flash of light, his already in the water

For what seems like he was jogging and I was trying to catch up, how come?

When I reach the water, I feel a bit tensed as I’m staring at it feeling like it’ll swallow me or something.

“Just have a run to start and jump in” he instructs

I take some step backwards and in no instance, I am in the water with my eyes closed and yelling.

Drew laughs out “okay” his tone is calm

I think I mistakenly splash water at him and he instantly widens his eyes with a large grin

“Did you just..?”i try to swim off as I know he’s about to reciprocate my action

“Dont you dare!” I yell out laughing

He grips me from nowhere on my waist and I’m facing backwards to him trying to yank off

I thought I was a bit father from him, how come he got me in no time? I momentarily think of how fast he is with his swift movements.

He releases me and I let loose and dive in the water . I guess i ran too far.

He pulls me out and we’re both cracking up at what just happened.

We swim back to near the bank and when i emerge from the water, I resume laughing off

“I’ll never get what is always funny to you..” he says

This causes me to crack up more at the way he said it

He shakes his head and smirks..emerging from the water he sits on the sandy floor

“Huh uh” his sour expression begins to appear again

I’m definitely not buying that at least not today..I pull his hand trying to bring him back to my side in the water but it seems to no avail.

You’ll never know how rigid these guys are till you’re almost powerless trying to motion them with force

I didnt realize he was going to get up just yet and that’s how he crashes on me and we both land in the water close to the bank

The salty water has a tingling effect on my eye so I shut them involuntarily and get up trying to wipe my face

He gets up as well cracking up. For all it seems, I am having fun to the brim

“Why didnt you go home for the short break?” I ask him

“Same reason you didnt” he replies

“Peace of mind” his face softens a little when I answer and he motions towards me

My mind is already racing and the wind blows sweeping my hair over my face

Unexpectedly, he grabs my waist and lifts me in the air making me crack up then he brings me down and tosses me in the water.

I scream and come back up above the water then he grabs my waist once more, this time he’s fairly closer to me than we’ve ever made contact.

His finger trails up my arm and sends electric shock through my whole being.

I’m not really in control of myself anymore and I don’t understand why at this instance.

Mustering courage, I try to shake off before something stupid that I dont intend to happens, then he pulls me back to himself.

This time my busts is laying tightly to his bare chest and he’s looking down at me.

Back at his routing of busy burning my eyes.

My stomach seems to heat up and the electric shock appears in me again

“We’re connected” he says and i watch how his lips move carefully

 “You cant run away from it, at least tell yourself the truth” he says softly

He goes ahead to remove the hair strands gummed on my forehead because of the moisture.

I’m not sure what he means and maybe I am not even ready to analyze it just yet.

He rubs his thumb softly on my lips and it feels warm. I think he just might crash on my lips, I need to stop the over thinking but my mind is rushing to many things.

He smiles heartily and takes me by the hand

“Lets have a shower and have something to eat”

This guy is a bully...just now he messed with my mind without even entering my soul.

I am rendered speechless so I just follow up.
