Chapter 34

Lemonade - internet money 

“Thank you “ I flush

“You can as well just talk to me about him instead of sulking” he adds

My eyes dart to his immediately and my muscles tense up

“I never said it’s a he”

“Ok” he smiles

“What?..” i feel tensed 

“Nothing..you’re the one uncomfortable..” he teases

I roll my eyes and walk away from him

“Its not that way young miss...” he yells laughing 

I pause half way.

He meets up with me and leads the way following the left turn.

“Apex!” I exclaim.

It is written on the signboard of the way

“That’s your mama put” he informs me

“Oh ok..”

“Okayy what...Thats what is written below apex on the sign board..”

Oops...

I squeeze my eyes to try to read whatever he claims to have seen but it is kind of blurry

“I dont see a thing..” 

“You better get glasses or see the doctor..” he teases

“You dont have to be mean”

“But its the truth...”

I hoof and look away

“Ohh so when you do the mean stuffs..it’s alright?”

“I am the female!” I interject

He raises his hand as if to surrender and laugh 

But thinking of it...that’s him being honest. I’ve always procrastinated my visit to an optician to have an eye test since high school. 

One of these days, i just have to and be done with it.

We take our seat beside the over sized round table..

“What kind of food do they cook?” I ask curiously 

“Any kind you want..swallow...vegies.. anything at all”

A plump short woman walks up to our table

“What do you want?” She asks

“I’ll have spaghetti and roasted turkey..” i answer

Tony does same and she leaves

“Rude..” 

“What’s rude?” He asks me

“Her manner of approach..which one is what do you want?” I gush

“Thats your cup of tea, i 

I look up at him and he shrugs.

“Tony...” i want to go ahead to talk back but where’s the lie in what he just said.

I’ve allowed Drew steal almost a whole day..nonsense!

I better behave.

He smiles more and i cant resist..i just slap his arm.

“Ouch” he pouts

“Shut up fish” 

We both laugh

“Fowl”

“Okuruko..”

“Lizard “

“Malu...”

We both tease each other with insults

Our food gets served and we begin eating.

“Jesus!!” I might as well find a bed and lay here while eating this up. It tastes better than the cafeteria and that’s amusing

“You’re welcome...” Tony chirps in and winks

“You really have good taste buds man”

He smiles.

“Like i want to just lay here and order more till i am about choking...”

And just then i truly begin to choke and he laughs enormously 

I quickly gulp down water...my heart is pounding

“Dont be stupid..” i muster

My previous mood is already rolling off and i feel like myself all over.

I turn face to face with him and try to remain with the stern look but this fool of a child had to be choking too .

We both burst out in laughter.

“Where are you going from here?” I ask him

“I’m glad you’re already getting over that guy..” he gushes

My eyes dart to his and i feel nauseous at how he called Drew- that guy.

My heart tightens and maybe i am annoyed by it. For all i care, Drew is never just that guy...

“Where are you going from here is the question Tony!” I say sternly.

He understands the little change in air instantly and shrugs 

“I’m not sure..where do you want to...”he asks

“We can go to the basement building and watch some movies on your laptop...” i suggest

“I didnt mean any harm when i said what i said..”

“Are you okay with the basement hall?” I cut him off not interested in having a discussion about Drew with him.

It felt disrespectful.

Oh wait..I’m not the one fighting for Drew’s side...

Maybe it’s my other side

I dont care but i cant stand Tony talking against Drew.

We both get up and walk down the road then crossover to the other side of the road leading to the basement.

The east wing of the school basement is sort of quiet and only a few are present in the hall.

We walk over and settle for two seats close to the wall by the left.

“Err...i was thinking..do you know the way to the eye clinic in school?”

“Ohhh ohh...” he laughs like he just caught me after playing hide and seek

“Shut up” i roll my eyes ignoring his silly laughter

“Whenever you’re ready..” he says

“Oh ok...thank you in advance” i smile fervently

“Anytime”

He sets the laptop on the table and unlock it... i go through the videos and most of it are series...

I dont want to start that right now because i know how i can be addicted to such...but i have too much work load academically.

No distractions, i remind myself.

“And Drew is not?”A vision of myself teasing me and laughing flashes through my mind

“Shut up fool” i roll my eyes

“What?” Tony asks

“Oh no nothing..” he’s sort of confused if it really meant nothing and i giggle

“Just forget it..”

I smile and pull his left arm hugging it warmly. 

The comfort Tony opens me to embrace is awesome and it made my stomach flutter thinking of it. I dont want to compare him though, but to other guys he’s better off.

He’s not a jerk or pervert.

We’re sort of similar and it’s hard to live by knowing someone is as blunt as i get.

I shake my head and chuckle.

Over to the movie...i decide to go for cartoon.

I choose red shoes and the seven dwarfs .

Sounds appealing.

I hope it’s comic as well.
