Chapter two

On my way home I came across a boy who asked me if I could spare a change for him, I smiled and reach out to my purse and brought out the money, the moment I gave it to him, the little boy held my hands and began altering some words I didn't understand, although he was a kid he had a strong grip on, I tried pulling my hands off him, but the more I did that the more it became stronger than it was before.

I could feel a strange power rushing out of me, it felt like the boy was draining all possible strength I had, trying to get off him, I passed out on the floor. 

The next day, I woke up and wondered how I got home last night, not remembering anything that occurred after I left the party, I rushed out and saw mom in the kitchen and when she saw me, her mood wasn't favorable, she was indeed angry. I greeted her but she refused to answer me, she kept quiet as she served me my food.

I kept speculating what might have happened that mom had been giving the silent treatment, I attempted talking to her but she snubbed me and went out to get some work done at the farm

A few minutes later, I heard a knock and I was glad it was Julia, I dragged her to my room, and before Saying a word.

she said, " you must have had lots to drink at the party last night". 

I glared at her and asked what she meant by that, so she told me, that she saw me passed out at Venita house, so she took me home with the help of a gentleman she was with, her face lit up as she talked about him.

Impossible" I said to myself because I knew I didn't consume any alcohol at the party, and how come I was found passed out. 

Abruptly, I felt a burn on my skin, which trigged my memory recollecting what happened last night. I never understood why all this was happening to me, It was a mystery I hoped to get to the bottom of. Meanwhile, Julia was still talking and asked if I heard a word she said, I shook my head and ask her if she could help me with my chores. 

She laughed as we both went to the kitchen while washing the dishes, I still wondered how I could get to know the mystery behind everything. Julia knew my sudden change of attitude, as she.

Julia snapped her fingers and asked me what was going on, I tried coating it up but she still was adamant to know the reason behind my constant thinking. 

I told her to give me a second, while I went to check where mom was. After that, I closed the door behind me and she stood beside the sink waiting for an explanation. I went to her and told her everything that had happened in the past two days, starting from the dream I had and the constant voices in my head at yesterday's party. Julia looked at me and before saying anything, busted out laughing.

"I know you won't believe me if I told you," I said to her, as she tries to control her laugher. 

Angrily I left to sit down when she came to me and said she was sorry but what I said was crazy, as it only happens In movies. 

I tried to get her to know it wasn't just a mare dream but something else, then I showed her the burses I had last night hoping she would believe me, but still, Julia didn't believe a word I said, as she said I might have gotten myself burnt when heating up water.

I had to agree with her but still needed some way to get her to believe me.

That was how I got the idea for her to spend the night with me so she can verify it with her eyes, 

Reluctantly she agrees and said later in the day she would go home and tell her parents, then we went back to doing the house chores, and later in the day, she went home as planned. 

The moment she left, I knew I needed to apologize to mom, even though I had no idea about the happenings around me.

I went to her room and saw she was getting ready for bed,

Mom" I called out to her but still didn't say a word to me. So I came in with both my hands on my ears as I frog jumped to where she was sited, She looked at me without saying a word and I told her how sorry I was for what happened last night. 

Mom inhales deeply as she playfully dragged my ears with a serious warning not to repeat that ever again.

"Yes Mom," I said to her as I stood up to hug her. Then I told her that Julia was spending a night with us at home. 

Ok dear" she said as she kissed me and went into the bed to get a goodnight sleep. 

I went to my room and waited for her to come, a few minutes later, I heard a knock on the door and I figured it must be Julia, she came inside and went in and changed off to her nightwear, as she jumps on the bed with her hair all packed.

"let sleep," Julia said covering herself with the blanket, I also laid back and hoped everything goes smoothly as planned, I needed to get someone to believe me, and hoped It wasn't just a figment of my imagination. 

As usual, everything was relaxed and quiet, until I saw myself standing again at the throne room of the king. Looking everywhere and the same voice, talking to me, 

"Who are you," I said to the mysterious voice, as I  slowly walked towards the crown and still the same man comes out more furious than before, getting ready to take me down. 

How's your hand" he said while grinning at me.

"It was all you, why? I asked striving to get replies from him. 

Then he said to me, " the crown is mine stay away from it, I wouldn't hesitate to take you down the next time I see you close ".

"That burn was just an indication of what I would do next time be warned" .those were his last words to me as  I woke up  gasping out of the air, 

Meanwhile, Julia was deep in her sleep not realizing what transpired and the attempt of her knowing anything failed. 

Next time morning, Julia woke up and saw me sited gazing outside. She inquired the reason why but I couldn't answer her, as I didn't sleep throughout the night. l missed my step trying to get up, so I can sleep a while.  she became worried, seeing my behavior towards her. 

Hurriedly Julia left to call mom, while I laid on the bed helpless and weak without mumbling a word. 

Julia slammed on the door while mom rushed to open it. 

She stuttered trying to clarify what was going on, but all she could alter was my name. 

What happened" mom shouted at her, trying to comprehend what was going on.

She couldn't wait anymore as she ran so fast in my room and saw me on the bed.

"Julia my dear" mom called out to me, attempting to get me to respond to her but all to no avail. Then  She touched me on my forehead and noticed I was running a temperature, 

" Get me a bowl of warm water," she told Julia as she rushed out to the kitchen to get it. 

A few seconds later, she brought the bowl and placed it on a stool that was near mom.

Mom socked the towel into the bowl, squeeze out the water from it, and carefully placed it on my forehead. I kept breathing so fast, recalling every piece of what occurred last night and the more I thought of it, the hotter my head becomes.

Mom became so worried about me, as she rushed out to call the doctor, leaving Julia alone with me.
