Chapter three

few hours later, she comes back with the physician, as he told her I was just having a minor fever, mom refused to assume that it was just an ordinary fever and she tried to make the physician understand but he persuaded her I would be fine and not to worry about me.

He prescribed some medications  before he left. Mom glared at me still worried, with Julia sited next to me.  Moment's later mom came in with a glass of water and told Julia to raise my head up while she gives me the medications.

Julia did as mom said and gently laid me back down with my head on a pillow.

"Let give her some time to rest, mom said to Julia while she held the glass and Julia left with her. 

Mom inhaled deeply as a sign of reliving before asking Julia was transpired last night.

"I really don't know ma'am " I was fast asleep not paying attention to anything that might have occurred at night, I am sorry ", she apologized to mom with her head faced down, mom assured her it wasn't her fault, so she shouldn't feel bad. 

After that mom checked up on me and when she touched me she saw my temperature was deteriorating, and it was going back to normal, while I was fast asleep.

Hours later, I meet her and Julia both sited outside the house,  the moment mom and Julia noticed my presence, they stood up and gently held me like an egg sitting me down on the chair, placed outside.

"How you feeling," they both asked me with both eyes peeking directly at me, waiting for a response.

I chuckled and assured them I was feeling better but suddenly my face becomes dull as mom asked what happened and I told her the reason why I fell sick was because of the dream I had the last time, and how  I am scared of it constant repetition. Mom as usual told me to pay no notoriety to those dreams. She later, went inside the house while Julia and I were still sited. 

"You gave us quite a scare," Julia said as she stared at me.

I am sorry" but you sleep like a log of wood I said to her as we both laughed.

I told Julia I needed to find an explanation for the same dream and constant warnings, as it was not just a dream. She gave me her support as we both would get to know what was going on together. 

Thank you my friend" I said holding her hands.

I still felt foggy from last night, so I chose to go rest and on entering my room, I felt a frigid wind drove through me, as I knew the windows were unlocked. So I decided to shut it, when I  saw a note placed at the side of it with no one around, I  wondered what might

be the content of the letter, seeing it was addressed to me.

I ran to the room, closed the door behind me as I  impatiently unfolded the letter.

"Meet me at the spring canyon 

At dawn" if you want to know the truth", the content of the letter said.

After reading it, although I didn't know who sent it, I had to go, I needed to go.

So as slated, I left to go meet the person. 

I reached there waiting patiently when I heard a voice introducing behind me.

"My name is Eldridge the wizard", he said to me, while I stood cluelessly peeking at him. 

  Before I could say a word he said with a huge smile. 

" You must be Taria".

"The crown jewel of valtoria" 

"And the next in line to the throne ". 

Huh, I mumbled attempting to unravel what was going on.  Eldridge smiled, as he sat down on a boulder.

"I can tell you need answers to all that is going on my child, as you see, more hasn't been unraveled yet". He said to me, sitting down. He requested for me to sit thus he Said

"Long before the crown was forged, the royal family was lauded with a gift by the moon goddess " Alexa", for their absolute loyalty and devotion to her, so as a reward she endowed all first child, born on a full moon with a special gift.   

And with the formation of the crown, it was passed down to the first king of valtoria " king Davin".

"The crown and it's power got heard all over the seven kingdoms, as king's, queens, and many came just to get a hold of its power," Eldridge said gazing at me. 

"The crown made the kingdom of valtoria, become the center of invasions, from other kingdom's, as all wanted the powers associated with the crown". 

Many attempts were made at the life of the king, within and outside the kingdom. But I  never knew, Aldridge my brother also wanted the crown and the throne. 

The crown, brought out the good, bad, and demon hidden in the hearts of men. They would do, anything just to get a hold of the crown and the power it bears".

"Furthermore, the king became threatened with the current, attacks,  just for the crown, then he decided that it needed to be annihilated, as he clarified all to us". 

I sat there quietly listening to what Eldridge was saying to me, so he continued.

"I saw its attack was much, so I  agreed with the king for the crown to be eradicated but Aldridge blatantly opposed,  saying no way should the crown to be destroyed.

" I begged him that it was the best thing to be done. 

But still, he was adamant about it not being eradicated". 

"Aldridge told the king, they will get back to him, as a decision needed to be made. Deep down I  felt worried but didn't know why ".

" So the next day, it was declared openly that the king Davin was assassinated and no glimmer was found who killed him".

Hmmm," I altered heeding to him while he proceeded to talk.

"Months passed after the demise of the king, the next successor took over the throne. King Aldon", he was but a child, but the throne being vacant, many will stand up for it, so it needed to be taken by the next in line".

All progressed on fine, until, it disclosed that the king was also killed and with no trace of who was behind it". 

It became clear that something was definitely off and I wanted to find out", Eldridge said to me. 

The same thing happened to the next in line, and before the king died he came to me grumbling about the constant dreams and warning he had from an unusual man.   I then told my brother's as to what the king said, but Aldridge said we shouldn't pay any attention to him, but still I wasn't convinced". 

Furthermore, I decided to pay close scrutiny to what was going on. When the next king was crowned, and this time, I placed a  spell on the king which enables me to feel everything that goes on with him".  

"And when he, had the same dream, I could feel the strong presence of the strange man and when he noticed someone was watching, he left". 

"I then found out who was behind it,  as he falsified his way into the dreams and mind's of the king's."

"Angrily I met face to face with him but he kept refuting it but I had to tell him, I saw all that happened as the king was placed on a gloaming spell."

His anger steamed inside as I asked why he did all this" Eldridge said. 

To him, he was tired of answering to mare mortals as he wanted to become the king and rule over all the seven kingdoms.

"I warned him, he could never be king as the crown was forged and passed down to only the bloodline of Jerald's family". Eldridge kept speaking.

"Then he revealed that he made slit changes as the crown can be passed down to someone else if no bloodline of the royal family was still alive".

"After  listening to what he said angrily I  sent him to the shadow realm".   with no possibility of coming back, I  hoped, Eldridge altered, gazing worriedly".

" Even though he is clasped there, Aldridge is still manipulating his way with the crown by unleashing dark magic to the city". 

"Which all boils down to your constant dreams and warning, as he knows an heir of the royal family was still alive".

"He will do whatever it takes to take you down",  he said to me, looking anxious. 

How do you mean" I asked him waiting for a reply,  but he didn't respond as he told me to let the crown guide me and not the other way around". 

" Your mom must be looking for you already, until then". He altered as he walked away until I lost sight of him. 

I still couldn't reckon what he just confessed to me, and there was one person I needed to confirm my doubts about being true or not. With no wavering, I rushed home with a certain qualm jogging through my mind.
