Killian was born to the lowest of his pack. His mother was a tender woman with a kind soul and treated him well. She loved him with all her heart. She could because Killian’s father was not her mate. Freya Barker was a sweet soul that lived for only her son. Fredrick Barker was not a bad person, but he had a drinking problem. Alcohol mixed with a werewolf’s temper was a bad mix. On the night Killian turned was six, it happened. Freya heard Fredrick come in, stumbling and cursing in his wake. In her gut, she knew. She picked Killian up and hid him in a closet and told him not to move. Freya did not have time to do anything else before Fredrick got there. Killian watched as his drunken father shot his mother. After that, he passed out. Killian crawled out and went to his mother’s side and wept. Members of the pack arrived, and the alpha decided that Killian would not stay with Fredrick. Instead, alpha Phillip knew of a neighboring alpha who’s Luna was a foster mother. He thought they would be a perfect fit for Killian.
Over the years, Killian grew with his new family; fighting and training harder than anyone. Images of what happened to his mother were still fresh. Killian’s mother had a tender hold on him, and everyone knew it. He swore revenge on Fredrick and would one day make himself alpha if he had to.
Killian grew up in the Green Marsh pack. A good size pack of country wolves with acres of farmland. He worked the land and got along with everyone in the pack. He was raised by an alpha and it started to show. When Killian turned twelve, he was trained as a soldier. With his build, anger, and determination, Alpha Jones thought it best and Killian used it as an outlet for his aggression. For a time, it worked until no one was an equal match for him. Alpha Jones just hoped that he hadn’t made a mistake in training him as such.
As normal, when Killian turned sixteen, his wolf had come forth. He stood taller than most wolves with a solid black coat. The only thing that didn’t make him downright scary as he had his mother’s eyes. A beautiful shade of sea green that stood out against the black coat. Alpha Jones knew he made the wrong decision when Killian requested to go back to Blood Moon Pack. Now that he had his wolf, it wouldn’t take him long to reach that thick dense forest that they got him from. Alpha Jones agreed but got in touch with Alpha Phillip. Alpha Phillip accepted Killian’s return. He had heard of the soldier and fighter he had become. They put him in the barracks and allowed him to see Fredrick. Killian played nice for now; he knew his time would come.
When Killian was eighteen, the packs had gone to war. The Black Heart Pack wanted more lands and wanted Blood Moons lands. The leader of the armies was Alpha Philip’s son, Levi. Killian did all he could to save his life, even got him back to pack lands. The entire army praised Killian for his fighting skill and heroism and bravery. Unfortunately, Killian didn’t think it was enough. His best friend and future alpha died. Alpha Phillip told him this was not his fault and that he did all he could. Killian knew Levi’s alpha ceremony was supposed to be in a few weeks. He grieved his friend in every way, even finding women as an outlet for the pain. He never hurt any of them, but he was not passionate about them either.
Three weeks later, Alpha Phillip requested Killian’s presence.
“Yes, sir?”
“Killian. I have heard nothing but good things about you. From your old pack as well. Your mother was a favorite of the pack and we hated to see her go the way she did. Levi spoke of nothing but good things about you. You know he wanted you as his Beta?”
“I had no idea, sir.”
“My son held you in such high regard that I’m going to honor his memory with you.”
“I’m not sure I understand, sir.”
“I’m making the next Alpha of Blood Moon.”
“Sir, I don’t think I’m….”
“Nonsense. You were raised by an alpha and I trust Levi’s judgment.”
“I’m honored, sir.”
“The whole pack already knows. They all agree you would make them proud as their alpha”
Killian woke up in his bed. He still had the dream of that day Phillip made him alpha. That was three years ago now. Killian had been alpha of Blood Moon and turned it into a military pack. He was known to be hard and strict, but for his pack, he had a soft side. One of his first orders as alpha was to banish his father. Fredrick was now a rouge and not welcomed in any pack.
Killian hated the negotiations with the pack he was trading with. The Silver Thunder pack was notorious for the rumors that came from their borders. The Alpha and Luna abused their daughter. Their son did worse things to her and let anyone in the pack do the same. Crystal Johnston was so battered and abused and what was worse was that she had not found her mate, so no protection was offered. Killian wished he could save her, but it was not his place. He was not her alpha or her mate.
Little did he know, he was the only person that could save her from the hell and prison that was her current life.
Destiny felt hopeful about her future after the meeting with Black Heart went so well. She sat in her room on the window seat and looking down into the garden. She saw her mom run out; laughing as she turned around and saw Killian. He was smiling and laughing and nodding his head as he walked up to Crystal. He grabbed her hand she had outstretched to keep him back and he pulled her to him. He wrapped his arms around her and Destiny started to laugh as he started to dance with her. There was no music or anything, they were in their own world. She saw her mother look up at her father with such love in her eyes as they stood there swaying back and forth. Killian pecked kisses all over her face and it made Crystal laugh as they kissed each other passionately and went to sit somewhere in the garden to enjoy each other's company. Destiny realized then that that was what she wanted with Tim. Her parents were the true definition of mates. They were completely different, yet they were perfec
Six months went by faster than Destiny ever remembered as she and Tim talked non-stop since they found out. They sneaked into the tunnels to see each other but even as impulsive as they both were, they were always mindful of Killian's rule. Timothy had no choice, Killian was Alpha King, but Killian was Destiny's father and she chose to follow his rule. She figured if she broke his one request and something so life-changing, what kind of Luna would that make her. She focused more on what her mother said and did and followed her to every meeting. On small things, Crystal even let her make the decision and put an input in.Today was different. Today there was a meeting of the packs. All Alphas and Lunas would be present and those old enough to attend the meetings that would be alpha or luna next. She knew Alex would go but when Crystal told Destiny she would also go, she was shocked."Mom, this a major meeting.""One that involves you. You will be there."
A few years had gone by since Crystal's breakdown. She had been worried for nothing as the lunas absolutely loved her guidance. Crystal was now standing on her balcony and watching her children play. Destiny was six months away from finding out what her wolf was, and Alex was still a few years from it. Alex had grown more mature since learning and understanding that one day he would take over as Alpha King. His mate would take her place. Destiny just hoped to find her mate, she didn't really care if he was an alpha or not. Destiny was the oldest out of the children her friends had, and she would be the first to turn. Crystal and Kellie kept talking about how close Destiny and Timothy had gotten. They were sure they were mates.Alex was stopped by Killian as he walked out, and Crystal watched him as him as they talked. Alex told Destiny bye and followed Killian inside. Alex had been doing his Alpha training a
************Sorry it took so long for his chapter guys. Needed some inspiration.***********In the weeks that followed their crowning, they had a new sense of responsibility and new energy that flowed through them us they were connected to all the wolves. With this new energy, they couldn't keep their hands off of each other and Killian said it was worse than when they first mated while she was in heat. Every chance they got they were all over one another. It didn't even matter where they were. He'd lock his office and shed lock her. If they were in their bedroom, it was game on for them. Their wolves even did it if they were in their form. It was like they couldn't get enough of each other and they couldn't stop. The day it simmered down, she doesn't remember them ever having sex as much as they did. She followed his scent to their room and saw him standing there. He looked like a sculpted god standing there on the balco
Crystal woke up on the morning of the first day of the ball. All her family was still asleep and the rest of the pack was too. She walked outside and took a breath of fresh air. Kellie came over and sat with her on the bench."Good morning, Luna.""Good morning, Luna.""Ready for tonight?""I am but it's a question if the guys are. Killian hates dressing up. I let him get away with wearing his cowboy boots instead of dress shoes. He says if he's going to dress like a monkey, he wants one part of him to be him.""Makes sense. Samuel loves dressing in the suit and tie.""I know that doesn't bother you.""Not at all."Just then, Destiny came walking out and sat next to Crystal."Good morning, darling.""Morning, momma.""Sleep okay?""Yeah."The three of them sat and enjoyed the crisp mountain air as they waited for the men to rise. After about an hour, Crystal walked back inside while Kel
Since the treaty of the packs was signed, it was agreed that once a year, the packs would come together for one grand ball to honor the treaty. There was an old castle up in the mountains that was dedicated for the event. The old couple who lived there were more than willing and happy to host such an event. They were honored their home was chosen and thought it ridiculous that omegas were given to them to help them maintain the castle. The omegas were happy to help and loved living with them. The packs were so numerous and even kids were allowed to attend. Houses were built around the property to accommodate everyone. Each pack had their part of the property to settle on if anyone brought a tent for camping while they were there.Crystal stood and watched everyone pack in the house. Everyone was coming except for the omegas. These next two weeks would be a vacation for them. They enjoyed the time off and thanked the Luna. Crystal walked through the town and saw everyone prepa
