LOGINMr Booky is a chivalrous but very weird old man. I actually enjoyed my stay there and Jess gave me reasons not to be apprehensive. She kept on questioning the old man like she had known him forever but he never did answer all questions— he actually hasn't left this semi haunted house for over sixty years, no wife, children or relatives. How a human being can survive being such an island? I can't tell.
He kept shooting incessant glances at me which didn't help me feel as comfy as Jess was and that — was creepy.
Finally, the long awaited Friday decides to show up. I couldn't stop staring at my wrist watch, patiently waiting for the minutes to burn down. At this point in time the lecturer's words were like a ball constantly hitting against a wall. All I needed was rest right now.
When the bell rung, Jess immediately made her way to my desk and began blabbing about tonight's party at Maggie's place. I watched her swing her manicured fingers and rolled her eyes as she spoke.
Parties weren't really my thing and will never be. I lastly attended one two years ago, it felt like yesterday. Teenagers puking at all corners, some making out in toilets, the awful smell of alcohol and other stuffs. That isn't something I'll like to experience.
“ Hey!” Jess waved her palm in front of my face.
“Oh! Yeah?”
“We are going to the party right?” she winked with a smile.
“No way!”
I stood up and swung my back pack on my shoulder before making my way to the door. Jess followed with a thousand pleads and I knew i'll finally succumb once she makes her eyes like that of a beaten dog and that's exactly what she did later on.
“Fine fine ” I rolled my eyes “ But—” I lifted my index finger to her face “ It's going to be the last party you ever make me attend OK?” Jess grinned and nodded.
“ I'll get some stuffs and inform my parents about my sleep over. ”
Reaching home, I was welcomed by the sweet scent from the kitchen. Mum had made some brownies for dessert, they were my favorite. I made my way to the kitchen hoping to see her in her favorite baking apron which said "I Love Baking" but to my greatest dismay she wasn't there. The already baked brownies were on the kitchen counter. I walked to my room, the noise from my parents room prevented me from grabbing the door knob to my room.
“I love her so much Phil and I don't want anything to happen to her.” My mum said in a shaky voice and I could tell mum was in tears.
“There's nothing we can do about it. He's already here for her.”
“She'll be eighteen in a forth night. Do u think she has started having the visions?”
“well —”
I heard footsteps towards the door, I quickly tiptoed to my room and closed the door.
“What's wrong?”
I heard my mum asked my dad at the doorway.
“Nothing, let's head downstairs before Audrey gets home.”
What in the world were they talking about? Was it about me? Definitely, I'll be eighteen in a forth night, what vision was she talking about? Who is the “He” ???
I quickly threw a couple of dresses into my bag and other necessities. Walked downstairs and sighted my dad on his usual armchair reading a news paper while sipping on his mug of dandelion tea.
“Hey dad.”
“Oh, you were home?!”
“Euhmm, yeah, a couple minutes ago.”
“Heading somewhere? ” Mum asked standing in the doorway. Her bright emerald green eyes had faded and they were puffy.
“Yeah, Jess' place, to spend the weekend — can I?”
I subconsciously crossed my fingers and shut my eyes hoping whatever thing they talked about back there hasn't affected their mood.
“You can.” Dads voice made my heart leap for joy.
“I made some brownies, take some along and tell Jess I say hi. Make sure you—”
"Take care of my self and not forget to do my homework.” I chanted the words together with her. She always told me that whenever I had to spend sometime at Jess'. I helped myself with enough brownies for two and departed.
“Can't wait to go to that party with Jack. Besides, he's the one picking us up— Audrey......Audrey.”
“Huh!” Her voice startled me.
“What in the world is preoccupying your tiny little mind.”
“My parents are hiding something from me. Heard them saying strange things— about me.” I nibbled on a brownie with my eyes focused on the floor.
“Strange things? ”
“Yeah. Heard dad saying someone's already here for me and something about visions too.”
“Who's the someone?”
“No idea.”
“And the visions, Have you had any?”
“Not that I know of .”
“See! There's nothing to prove they were referring to you sweetheart.”
“I'll be eighteen in a forth night right?”
“Yup but you will agree with me you not the only person with a birthday on a forth night right?” I smiled at her. She always had a way to cheer me up in situations like this. “ So Audrina Hoodson, You get your ass off that bed and start preparing for tonight. ”
Jess helped me in choosing my outfit and making me up, we helped ourselves with some brownies before Jack, Jess' two weeks old boyfriend showed up with a crimson convertible.
One could get the noise from the party kilometers away. Once we stepped out of the car, Jack held Jess' hands and they both walked in. I let out a puff and rolled my eyes. What was I expecting? That Jess will hold my hand all night long? As usual I get to be alone and probably some crazy guy from nowhere will grip my waist or smack my ass. “ Urgh! ” I shook the thought off my head.
People had plastic cups in their hands and were clustered in their own corner chit chatting God knows what.
“Come to me pretty.” A chubby guy grabbed my arm.
“let go off me. Jerk!”
I made my way into the crowd and straight to the kitchen, making sure my eyes don't wonder around and get fed by immoral teenagers.
I began to feel nauseous thanks to the pungent smell of alcohol, apparently the glass of water wasn't of great help. I felt my tummy twist, I needed to throw up, where the hell is the toilet?? The first room I opened was gloomy and I could tell this was Maggie's parents room from the king sized bed. I rushed to the next room, and my eyes almost popped out its sockets at the sight of Nick my so called boyfriend making out with Leslie, the football cheerleader.
Three minutes to my date's arrival, I was standing infront of my full length mirror digesting my new look. The barely noticeable makeup I had complemented the blush pink lace dress I had on. It was given to me on my sixteenth birthday by my cousin Neiyah.Love at first sight defined the dress and I, well that was before I got it out of its sophisticated rectangular box. Its length was so not me: three inches below my butt. Immediately, I tossed the pieced of material somewhere in my closet until this day. Change is the only constant thing. The doorbell brought me back to earth, my heart began to race with fingers crossed, I prayed everything goes on smoothly as I planned.I smoothen the edges of the hair which led to a perfect ponytail. Here stood a part of my heart, looking dangerously handsome in his immaculate white-rolled up sleeved shirt on a pair of black skinny jeans and black converse. His lips owned a beautiful blood red rose flower
This place has a habit of giving me goosebumps, not just the secluded house but the neighborhood too, it was simply lifeless and unhabitable. This place was definitely no way part of town— unreasonable distance from the last house this one and no house after it.How Jess came across this place, is an unanswered question. I realized I had been standing in front of the house for while, not because I was thinking on how to enter but because I was terrified to the core. I leaned my bicycle to a big tree beside Mr. Booky's home.Ok Aud, here we go.I walked up to the door and gave it a knock, another one followed when no reply came up during the first knock. I sighed, he probably wasn't home, perhaps I should go and return some other time. I pivoted to begin my journey back home but was stopped midway into the beginning of the journey by the sudden sound of a iron falling onto the floor. I stared at the tattered house to glue my eyes on the dormer
You will have to pass through me first father.” Lucy protested. Her father's eyes widened in surprise and disappointment. He raised a hand to one of the guards who had already reached for Tony's right hand to stop.Trying to keep calm the king turned to Anna,“ Why is she here Anna? Punishment awaits you for disobedience of royal order. ”“ Leave her out of this father.” Lucy interrupted. “ I acknowledge my mistake upon the land. But you left me with no choice father.”“ You are my only child Lucy and the last thing I'll ever do is hurt you despite your unforgivable mistake.” he walked to his daughter and cupped her cheek with his right hand, his thumb gently stroking her temple accompanied by a faint smile. “ I need just one thing from you daughter.”“ Anything I'll do to save the father of my unborn.”The king flinched at her words. “ I do not want you around him till it is born.”
“Who has she been seeing?” king Alfred gushed as he looked down at his wife with furrowed brows.“ N-no one your highness.” her face was plastered to the floor with both hands crossed in front of tighs.“ You have the guts to lie in my face Marla? I'll ask you one more time. Who did this to her?” he hurled. With shaky hands and teary eyes, she let go the little information she had been keeping all along concerning her daughter, though it wouldn't help the catastrophic damage.“ Tony he is called.” she lifted her head and tried reaching her husband's arm for a little strength and comfort though she already knew how he would react to it. As right as she was he simply took a step back.“ believe me your highness, I wasn't aware of anything until four weeks ago. I begged her but she wouldn't listen, I tried—”“ You didn't try hard enough woman.” his voice was so loud that it echoed through the empty corridor.
Alex's POV.I didn't like to intrude into people's privacy until now, last I checked the vampire detecting machine wasn't in existence until couple of minutes ago.Valérex was the dreamland before the unbelievable occured.Werewolves became our worst enemies and vice versa, reasons why some goddamm guy created this machines to detect the presence of any vampire an inch away from Rexo, the werewolf kingdom, then I checked again, this guy was practically burned alive like six hundred years ago...how in the world does this come about??There's only one way to know.Luck being on my side, she spent not much time with Aud after school. The earlier I did what I had to do, the better for me, and my future too. After what seemed like an hour of stalking, I decided to take actions."Hold on I'll be there in a bit."That was pretty much of a time, considering the slow human moves in addition to the fact she's fe
“Your Majesty, her temperature seems to increase each flying second.” Anna reported, her head focused on the marble floor with both hands formally crossed.Queen Marla frowned. Reached for the bed where her only daughter laid.“Dear lord! I hope it's just a little fever.” She Prayed.“Should your highness be informed?” Anna asked. Head still focused to nothing but the floor.Already seated Queen Marla did nothing but nod to the maid. Her eyes gently closed releasing colorless pair of tears. She reached for the towel on Lucy's head and dipped it into the already Luke warm water.“How is she? ” King Alfred stopped pacing back and forth immediately he spotted the man in an immaculate white apron over a pair of pants leaving his daughters room.Worry and fear was now written all over Queen Marla's face. The grey haired doctor appeared with a worried look on his f
