I sowly shut the door making sure I don't get noticed. Rather unfortunate he caught sight of me. Without a second thought, I made my way through the crowd of testosterone and oestrogene filled teenagers.

“Aud.” I heard Jess call from somewhere inside the crowd. I couldn't stop, all I needed at that point in time was to weep.  Once at the porch, I felt my stomach twist again, this wasn't due to the alcohol anymore there was no doubt it was due to the awful scene I witnessed. I walked along the concrete path which led me to a human free vegetable patch. Without the next tick of a clock I rushed to the patch went down on my knees and emptied the semiliquid  brownies I ingested a couple of hours ago.

I couldn't stop replaying the scene I witnessed seven minutes ago. I began to breath heavily as warm tears rolled down my cheeks.

Jess was right, Nick is nothing but a jerk. He has actually been going out with me all this while for a bet. What a fool I've been all this time.

“Nick doesn't love you Aud. Heard him betting five hundred bucks to date you for a year. ”

“I know you hate him Jess but didn't know you'll get as far as making up stories for me to breakup with him. I love him and he loves me too that's what's important. ”

She sighed. “If he makes you happy then fine, I just don't want you hurt.”

I threw up some more and soon I couldn't feel my body. I sat down on the lawn, buried my face in my knees and began sobbing.

“Hey!” Scott said squatting in front of me. I got my face off my knees. He reached for it and wiped the lone tear which was making its way to my lips. “ Are you alright? ”

I got my face off his hold and wiped it with the back of my palms.

“Yeah I'm fine.” I sniffed “ What are you doing here?”

He got to his full height and stretched out his right hand to me. I stared at it for a bit before grabbing it. His hands were surprisingly warm, I could fill the complete flow of his warmth through my body. The night was awfully  cold, I regretted not holding my crew-neck sweater. Goose bumps began filling my arm and slowly spread to my forearm.

“You looked awfully worried when I saw you. So I decided to follow.”

Once on my feet, I dusted my jeans and rubbed my arms with my palms so the friction could provide a little warmth.

“Like I said, I'm fine.”

“I can see that.” he chuckled, suddenly he began to unbotton his demin jacket.

“What are you doing?”

He ignored my question and continued with his act, those coffee brown eyes totally locked with mine. He walked towards me getting the jacket off his body. “ Here.” He gently lowered the jacket on my shoulders.

“Next time put on something warm ok?”

I nodded.

His hands were still on my shoulders when Jess showed up. Breathing heavily like she just ran a marathon.

“Damn it girl! ” she held both knees in support “ Just spent twenty hefty minutes trying to spot you. What the hell is wrong Aud? Nick is in search of you......Hope he hasn't hurt you?”

I tried to speak but was soon interrupted by Nicks presence. He walked past Jess to Scott and I.

“Get your hands off my girl.” He snarled. Scott lifted both hands off my shoulders in surrender.

I looked at Nick in disgust. I felt my stomach twist one more time. He walked to me and cupped my cheek.

“I'm sorry babe, It's not what you think.”

I let out a faint smile and pointed my finger to his chest “ You know nothing about what I think Nick. You lied to me, you never loved me—”

“You so wrong. I l—”

“Just spare me that Nick. I don't want to set eyes on you again.”

“Aud please hear me out—”

“leave.”

He tried to plead again but Scott cut him off “ You heard her dude.”

Within a twinkle of an eye Nick swung his clenched fist into Scotts face. “ Who the hell do you think you are?”  he spoke over Scotts body on the lawn.

“Nick stop!” I screamed

Scotts nose was bleeding. He held his nose and winced twice before struggling to get on his feet. Nick didn't seem satisfied with his action. He balled both hands in a fist and landed them on Scott one after the other. I kept screaming but Nick wouldn't listen. “ Next time you think twice before speaking DUDE! ”

He got off Scott and began to walk. I watch Nick leave, barely ten steps away from us, I saw nothing but Scott holding Nick by his neck and pinning him against the wall. When that happened.....I can't tell. Something caught my attention, something unusual about Scotts eyes. They weren't coffee brown anymore— they were shiny gold. I stared at him in horror not knowing what to do. This wasn't Scott, it was someone else. His grip tightened around Nicks neck. If I don't stop him he was going to kill Nick.

Before I could react, something swish past me getting Scott out of Nick. It happened so fast that I looked totally confused. Now Nick was lying on the lawn with a horrified look on his face. His mouth was agape and he didn't move. Scott on the other side looked unconscious. I ran to his body and knelt in front of him.

“Scott.” I called out and shook him but to no avail.

“Don't worry he'll be fine. ” A voice said from behind me. I turned to see blond long haired boy with ice blue eyes and an unpleasant smirk on his face. He was leaning against a tree arms crossed. “ I think I deserve a thank you, Don't you think? ”

“Who are you and what did you do to him?” I questioned

“Oh! Forgive my manners. I'm Alex. Like I said Audrina...” he smirked again. “ He'll be fine.”

How on this planet earth did this unknown, cute, arrogant guy know my name? I watch him walk to Jess and murmured a few words to her, he did same to Nick, they both walked away as if nothing ever happened, never looking back.

Scott's coughing made me focus on him. “ Hey, are you OK?”

“Yeah I'm fine.” he coughed again.

“See! ” Alex said “ People of his kind don't give up, do they?” his back faced us and there was no doubt he pasted that evil smirk on his face. He walked towards me,with his ice blue eyes locking mine. “ Go home!” he ordered.

I don't know how, but I magically realized myself obeying to it. I felt like there was someone else inside me doing what I didn't want to do.

“What are you doing here?” Scott questioned.

“ What ingratitude! I just saved your life and that's what I get?” he chuckled.

“You didn't answer me.” Scott said as he stood up.

“I am here for the same reason you are here dude. And you should be thankful I came just in time.” he laughed. “ If not you would've been the bad guy— you know what I mean.” Alex raised his right brow.

“I didn't need your help. ”

“Chill teddy, I mean no harm. Just want us to make a deal.” he paused thinking Scott will ask him the obvious question but continued when his silence persisted. “ I kindly want you to let me have the girl and I wipe every bit of what happened tonight off their brains.”

Scott smiled. “You are making yourself the worst enemy, next time you see me remember this I'll reap every part that makes up your lifeless body and watch it burn.”  with those words, he walked away not looking back.

  • The curse   Lies 1

Three minutes to my date's arrival, I was standing infront of my full length mirror digesting my new look. The barely noticeable makeup I had complemented the blush pink lace dress I had on. It was given to me on my sixteenth birthday by my cousin Neiyah.Love at first sight defined the dress and I, well that was before I got it out of its sophisticated rectangular box. Its length was so not me: three inches below my butt. Immediately, I tossed the pieced of material somewhere in my closet until this day. Change is the only constant thing. The doorbell brought me back to earth, my heart began to race with fingers crossed, I prayed everything goes on smoothly as I planned.I smoothen the edges of the hair which led to a perfect ponytail. Here stood a part of my heart, looking dangerously handsome in his immaculate white-rolled up sleeved shirt on a pair of black skinny jeans and black converse. His lips owned a beautiful blood red rose flower

  • The curse   A tour in the past.

This place has a habit of giving me goosebumps, not just the secluded house but the neighborhood too, it was simply lifeless and unhabitable. This place was definitely no way part of town— unreasonable distance from the last house this one and no house after it.How Jess came across this place, is an unanswered question. I realized I had been standing in front of the house for while, not because I was thinking on how to enter but because I was terrified to the core. I leaned my bicycle to a big tree beside Mr. Booky's home.Ok Aud, here we go.I walked up to the door and gave it a knock, another one followed when no reply came up during the first knock. I sighed, he probably wasn't home, perhaps I should go and return some other time. I pivoted to begin my journey back home but was stopped midway into the beginning of the journey by the sudden sound of a iron falling onto the floor. I stared at the tattered house to glue my eyes on the dormer

But you left me with no choice father.”“ You are my only child Lucy and the last thing I'll ever do is hurt you despite your unforgivable mistake.” he walked to his daughter and cupped her cheek with his right hand, his thumb gently stroking her temple accompanied by a faint smile. “ I need just one thing from you daughter.”“ Anything I'll do to save the father of my unborn.”The king flinched at her words. “ I do not want you around him till it is born.”

I'll ask you one more time. Who did this to her?” he hurled. With shaky hands and teary eyes, she let go the little information she had been keeping all along concerning her daughter, though it wouldn't help the catastrophic damage.“ Tony he is called.” she lifted her head and tried reaching her husband's arm for a little strength and comfort though she already knew how he would react to it. As right as she was he simply took a step back.“ believe me your highness, I wasn't aware of anything until four weeks ago. I begged her but she wouldn't listen, I tried—”“ You didn't try hard enough woman.” his voice was so loud that it echoed through the empty corridor.
