LOGIN“What was that scene you created earlier?” King Alfred questioned. He was still battling against the rage which was boiling inside him. He was presently in his daughter's room due to the embarrassing scene she put up at the dinner table a couple of minutes ago. He apologized to the Prince on her behalve before he left.
“Dad I didn't mean to be disrespectful to you but I can't wed prince Sebastian, I have no major feelings towards him but mere friendship besides—”
“Enough of this young lady, You have no say in this, you will marry prince Sebastian in less than a month, like it or not I have spoken.”
He stormed out of my room slamming the door behind him.
“Lucy! What's the matter?”
As if waiting for the question, the tears rushed down Lucy's cold cheeks uncontrollably. This was why she loved him, he could determine how she felt just by staring at her face, he could tell even when she faked a feeling. No one, not even her own parents could understand her better than he could. He held her arms leading her to the only comfortable furniture in his old cabin—his bed.
“My dad wants me to wed Sebastian. ” her face was buried into her palms when Tony stooped infront of her, slowly removed it and wiped her tears.
“Lucy darling.” Now her face was buried on his shoulders, his right hand gently rubbing her back. “ Your parents want the best for you, you can't go against what they say.”
She unburied her face from his shoulders, stood up in anger and walked to the window.
“Are you now supporting my parents and telling me to go on with the marriage? Don't you love me anymore?”
She didn't attempt to drift her stare from the trees out of the window to Tony. She then heard heavy steps coming towards her. Warm hands against her cold arm, his face was an inch away from the right side of her face, thin lips releasing the sweetest words ever.
“If I tell you I do not have feeling for you, I lie.” he spoke in a husky whisper. “If I tell you I want you to marry the prince, I lie again. I don't want to share you with anyone Lucy darling.”
She turned to look at his exquisite face, her fingers reached for the dark lock of hair falling to his face tucking it behind his ears.
“Make love to me.” she said.
~••~
“You're staring at me again.”
I sighed “ Don't blame me, I'm still flabbergasted at the scene before me back there. I mean, my parents loved you in barely thirty minutes.”
Phil and Theresa Hoodson never approved of the male friends I brought home, be it a reading partner or an assignment partner. Reasons I never brought Nick home.
“I don't like him.”
“Mum he's just an assignment partner.”
“I know. Just create limits once the assignment is over OK?”
He flashed those perfect blinding white teeth for the tenth time tonight. A smile I can never get enough of. “Ain't you glad your parents approved of me?”
“I am but it's.... ” He reached for my hand on the table and gave a light squeeze.
“I understand. Let's just say I'm lucky enough to have my girlfriend's parents love me. Isn't that a good start?”
Girlfriend! He just said girlfriend.
Being the gentleman he is, I was standing in front of my at exactly eight pm. Well, maybe it was just for the start, trying to impress my parents and all the like. I couldn't stop reminiscing the girlfriend part of the night coming out of those soft and kissable lips of my new boyfriend. I subconsciously giggled.
My best part was on its way. Where he walks me to the door, says one or two things before landing a breathe taking kiss to my lip.
The night was cold. I rubbed my right hand on my left arm to generate some heat. He shot a glance at me from his periphery as we walked to the door.
step one— done
Seems the friction I had been trying to create lately wasn't of any help since I began to shiver on reaching the door. He looked down at me with a worried look in his eyes, and within the next two seconds he pulled me into a hug. At first I was a little lost but later, I got to know the reason behind this. It worked, because the hairs which had arose due to my constricted erecto pilli muscles had finally relaxed due to the warmth his body generated to mine. I took in his cologne, smelled of cherries and a dash of hibiscus.
“You made my night.” he said. “ thank you.” I could feel his warm breathe brush my ears.
Step two— done.
I pulled out of his hug and looked at him deep into his coffee brown eyes. “You need not thank me.”
He smiled, slowly lowering his head.
Step three— still loading.
I was taken aback by the next action, it was something I least expected. I mean.....no one does that on a first date— well rare cases, but mine wasn't a rare case or rather it shouldn't be. I was disappointed at myself for running faster than my shadow.
“Goodnight Audrey.”
I opened my eyes to stare at his once more. I smiled to wave away the embarrassing look plastered on my face. I reached for the doorknob refusing to look at him one more time.
“ Goodnight.”
I reached for my phone in my bag to reveal two missed calls and three messages from Jess.
* Audrey*
*Hellooooo*
* Where on earth did you dump your phone for fuck sake*
I reached for the call sign, first attempt, second and third, no one picked up. She's probably asleep already.
*Sorry Jess, I was on a date with my dream guy xoxo*
I flung the phone on my bed still not believing what happened tonight. Scott gave me a mere peg.
“Please tell me you were pulling my ass.”
Well I guess I have to start putting up this new attitude of hers.
I closed my locker to flash a smile at her. “Good morning Jess.”
She rolled her eyes.
“Yeah Yeah.” she said flatly “ tell me about it.” her eyes glittered like a kid who's just seen Santa Claus.
“Hope you had a good night rest bestie. ” I flashed another smile, intentions of making her more anxious than she already was.
“C'mon girl, flip the page.”
I laughed at her anticipation before telling her everything .
“This is it then.....” She said, at the end of my talk.
“ This is what?” I questioned, furrowing my brows in confusion.
“The long awaited prince charming. The one to get rid of your hymen....you know.....” she nudged me with a smile.
“Cut the crap and let's head to class.”
I never told her the kiss on the cheek part of the story for some reasons, and that god to whatever made her not to ask. Who knows? Maybe he was abiding to some sort of first date principles or he was just being a gentleman, not that I don't like it but this coffee brown eyed god isn't that kind of person, well from physical looks.
“Hold on....” She caught me by the left arm as I began walking. I observed the brunette dig into her bag pack as her manicured fingers revealed the strangest thing ever. It was a silver compass-like object, but wasn't one due to the absence of cardinal points and the presence of a single arrow directed to what should have been the north east. It had funny carving at it edges.
“What the hell is that? ”
“A Vampire detecting stuff.”
I chuckled. “Where did you get that?”
“From granny's I decided to go visit the old man on my way home, he got into this sudden discussion about vampires and werewolves stuff. Well....This is what he gave me and it was the reason I kept buzzing your phone all night.”
I looked at Jess with questioning eyes, processed all that she told me and couldn't help but burst into laughter, I thought she was going to join me but when she didn't I stopped. When I sensed Jess's eyes shooting daggers at me, that's when I realized how serious she was.
“Oh I'm sorry.” I tried to wipe the tear I was beginning to shed and got back to my initial state. “ So you mean, he believes in the existence of vampires and werewolves huh? And so.....giving you this simply insinuates there are vampires in town.” I exhaled. “ You don't believe him do you?”
“Sort of......” I could see she was so into believing the old man from the glint of fear in her eyes. I didn't like the way things were going but I just had to tag along.
“How does it work?”
Three minutes to my date's arrival, I was standing infront of my full length mirror digesting my new look. The barely noticeable makeup I had complemented the blush pink lace dress I had on. It was given to me on my sixteenth birthday by my cousin Neiyah.Love at first sight defined the dress and I, well that was before I got it out of its sophisticated rectangular box. Its length was so not me: three inches below my butt. Immediately, I tossed the pieced of material somewhere in my closet until this day. Change is the only constant thing. The doorbell brought me back to earth, my heart began to race with fingers crossed, I prayed everything goes on smoothly as I planned.I smoothen the edges of the hair which led to a perfect ponytail. Here stood a part of my heart, looking dangerously handsome in his immaculate white-rolled up sleeved shirt on a pair of black skinny jeans and black converse. His lips owned a beautiful blood red rose flower
This place has a habit of giving me goosebumps, not just the secluded house but the neighborhood too, it was simply lifeless and unhabitable. This place was definitely no way part of town— unreasonable distance from the last house this one and no house after it.How Jess came across this place, is an unanswered question. I realized I had been standing in front of the house for while, not because I was thinking on how to enter but because I was terrified to the core. I leaned my bicycle to a big tree beside Mr. Booky's home.Ok Aud, here we go.I walked up to the door and gave it a knock, another one followed when no reply came up during the first knock. I sighed, he probably wasn't home, perhaps I should go and return some other time. I pivoted to begin my journey back home but was stopped midway into the beginning of the journey by the sudden sound of a iron falling onto the floor. I stared at the tattered house to glue my eyes on the dormer
You will have to pass through me first father.” Lucy protested. Her father's eyes widened in surprise and disappointment. He raised a hand to one of the guards who had already reached for Tony's right hand to stop.Trying to keep calm the king turned to Anna,“ Why is she here Anna? Punishment awaits you for disobedience of royal order. ”“ Leave her out of this father.” Lucy interrupted. “ I acknowledge my mistake upon the land. But you left me with no choice father.”“ You are my only child Lucy and the last thing I'll ever do is hurt you despite your unforgivable mistake.” he walked to his daughter and cupped her cheek with his right hand, his thumb gently stroking her temple accompanied by a faint smile. “ I need just one thing from you daughter.”“ Anything I'll do to save the father of my unborn.”The king flinched at her words. “ I do not want you around him till it is born.”
“Who has she been seeing?” king Alfred gushed as he looked down at his wife with furrowed brows.“ N-no one your highness.” her face was plastered to the floor with both hands crossed in front of tighs.“ You have the guts to lie in my face Marla? I'll ask you one more time. Who did this to her?” he hurled. With shaky hands and teary eyes, she let go the little information she had been keeping all along concerning her daughter, though it wouldn't help the catastrophic damage.“ Tony he is called.” she lifted her head and tried reaching her husband's arm for a little strength and comfort though she already knew how he would react to it. As right as she was he simply took a step back.“ believe me your highness, I wasn't aware of anything until four weeks ago. I begged her but she wouldn't listen, I tried—”“ You didn't try hard enough woman.” his voice was so loud that it echoed through the empty corridor.
Alex's POV.I didn't like to intrude into people's privacy until now, last I checked the vampire detecting machine wasn't in existence until couple of minutes ago.Valérex was the dreamland before the unbelievable occured.Werewolves became our worst enemies and vice versa, reasons why some goddamm guy created this machines to detect the presence of any vampire an inch away from Rexo, the werewolf kingdom, then I checked again, this guy was practically burned alive like six hundred years ago...how in the world does this come about??There's only one way to know.Luck being on my side, she spent not much time with Aud after school. The earlier I did what I had to do, the better for me, and my future too. After what seemed like an hour of stalking, I decided to take actions."Hold on I'll be there in a bit."That was pretty much of a time, considering the slow human moves in addition to the fact she's fe
“Your Majesty, her temperature seems to increase each flying second.” Anna reported, her head focused on the marble floor with both hands formally crossed.Queen Marla frowned. Reached for the bed where her only daughter laid.“Dear lord! I hope it's just a little fever.” She Prayed.“Should your highness be informed?” Anna asked. Head still focused to nothing but the floor.Already seated Queen Marla did nothing but nod to the maid. Her eyes gently closed releasing colorless pair of tears. She reached for the towel on Lucy's head and dipped it into the already Luke warm water.“How is she? ” King Alfred stopped pacing back and forth immediately he spotted the man in an immaculate white apron over a pair of pants leaving his daughters room.Worry and fear was now written all over Queen Marla's face. The grey haired doctor appeared with a worried look on his f
