'I am sorry, but I can't accept your proposal. I have unfinished business, and I can't allow my heart to beat softly. But thank you for being the first person to show me kindness. I won't forget your good deeds." Li Na thought and gently kissed his lip before she got up.
Her bare feet took steps forward to her clothes. When Li Na reached the skirt and blouse on the ground, she collected her clothes from the floor and wore them before wearing her shoe.
Shing was still sleeping when Li Na left the cave. As she walks into the open air, the sun strikes her face, and her eyes shut before it slowly opens again.
"Hey, guys. I think the prince is this way." Li Na heard people shouting from afar. She did not know if she should run, stay, or wake up Shing from his sleep. So she decides to hide and see what happens next.
A few minutes later, Li Na watches from a tall tree as a group of men enters the cave. She could not see what was going on, but she could hear them.
"My apologies to the first prince. We did not know that the road had been trapped with dark shadows guards. Before we could fight off the assassins, you were missing." Li Na overheard one of the men saying. She guessed he was talking to Shing. But what shocked her was the reality that she had made love with the first prince.
"Well, I am not the one at fault, he was the one that did all the work. Anyway, that does not matter since our path goes a separate way from here." Li Na mumble.
"Where is the girl?" She heard Shing ask. His voice sounded angry, yet Li Na could sense pain within it.
"I am sorry, first prince. But we did not see a girl when we arrived in the cave."
"She couldn't have gone far," Shing yelled, and at that moment, Li Na could only feel the ache in his tone. She felt bitter, but love did not come first for her. Taking revenge on every soul that wounded her mentally and physically was her mean focus now, and she could only do that by building her power and wealth.
Li Na's eyes widened when she saw Shing running out of the cave. He seemed sad, and it hurt her to see him in that state. The night they shared had left a mark on both their hearts, and Li Na knew that there were growing feelings developing in her for him. And from the hurt in Shing's eyes, she knew he felt it too.
"I did not even get your name? I know you have problems to focus on, but when you get done, you can return to me, and I will be waiting for you. Please return by my side someday. I promise my arms will be open to accept you." Shing screamed as his eyes searched around for any sound from her. He stood in the same spot for a while before suddenly falling to his knee.
"Ouch!" Shing cried in ache as he pressed his hand against his wound. Li Na anxiously bit her lip. She could not stand seeing the painful expression on his face nor listen to the ache in his voice. But Li Na knew that were things far more important than her feelings.
"Ah!" Shing voices echo in the air. Li Na decided that she could not watch him in agony anymore and tried to get down from the tree, but stopped herself when she saw the guards rushing toward him.
"I made a promise to this body's former owner to get revenge against her enemies, and until I do so, I can't come to you or love you the way you would cherish me." Li Na mumbles with sadness in her tone.
"First prince, don't worry. We will get you out of here on time, and the palace doctor can attend to your wound." One of the guards said.
Li Na's eyes followed them as they carried Shing away. She stopped looking when their shadow faded among the trees. For a moment, she felt the urge to run after Shing and forget about her revenge.
"Put yourself together, Li Na. You can't allow a man to weaken you. I am sure he will be alright. He's a prince after all. Now, let's go to the kingdom of Bala." Li Na murmured as she got down from the tree.
Two hours had passed, and Li Na was still walking according to the map that Shing had given her. The heat from the sun was burning her scalp, her mouth felt dry, and with every step forward, Li Na felt like she was going to collapse from thirst. But she kept moving with sweat dripping from the pore of her skin.
Finally, the map led Li Na of the broad path and unto a bushes road with numerous trees. After she had walked for a brief while, the sound of running water caught her attention.
"Bless the heaven." Li Na screamed as she ran toward the sound.
A high waterfall with a large river at the bottom of it stood in the golden light of the sun. Its beauty was undeniable, but the river was what Li Na's eyes got focused on at that instant.
"Yes!" Li Na said in excitement.
She ran to the river, dipped her hands into the water, then placed her hand to her lips, and drank.
The reflection of the scar on Li Na's face ached her heart when her eyes caught an image of herself in the water. At that moment, she desperately wanted to make them all pay for ruining her life and her beauty.
After her third drink, Li Na heard footsteps behind her, and she turned her head to see who was coming.
"What do we have here? A pretty little lady in our territory. Isn't this fun? Don't worry, miss. We are going to make you feel good!"
Li Na heard a deep man's voice. She took her fourth drink, then cunningly smiled.
