Chapter 3

We were having lectures due to our upcoming midterm exams. So we sneaked into the lecture hall and for our luck today morning lecture was Mrs. Lexi's biology lesson (not to mention that she is a very boring and a slow person).

We sat at the far end of the lecture hall by the window as it was packed with students. Some students were on their phones and while some were gossiping, and most of the girls doing makeup and on their nails.

Alex sat in the window seat as I sat next to him. As usual he got out his phone and started playing video games as sleeping is a bit uncomfortable in the current position. I just sighed at the sight and got my books out.

'Why did he even bother to get me here if he going to play games'? I wondered, looking out of the window.

I searched for my textbooks and realized I forgot them at home...

Now what!!! Why do these things keep happening to me???? I sighed loudly.

'Hey!! Do you have an extra textbook?' I asked by the students in the front row.

'Yes of course!! Here....' a guy offered me his textbook with a smug grin.

Being a cheerleader really pay off at times like this... even though I quitted it cause I was too lazy!!

'Thank you. 'I got the book turning it to the page no. 67...

It's currently 9 am and there is another good hour left before the lecture gets finished. So I tried to focus on but failed miserably as the yesterday incident was replaying in my mind continuously.

But as I heard a few times, I guess we are doing about the immunity system today.

I snapped back into the reality when I heard the bell ring. I closed the books and looked at Alex who seems to be obsessed with his phone.

'Alex!' I called.

'Hmm' he just hummed still looking at his phone.

'The class is over ' I replied, thinking that he didn't hear the bell.

'I know! Just wait till I finish this round' He said still looking at his phone.

'Are you free-.....' I was going to insist on going to the cafeteria to get some food, but as I was really sleepy I decided to take a quick nap.

'Alex... Wake me up in 10 minutes.' I said, closing my eyes.

'Sure!!' I heard Alex say before I drifted into a dreamland.

15 minutes later

I woke up suddenly as I dreamed about falling from a 50 story building.

What a weird dream!! I normally dream a lot, but not these kind of scary ones, most of the time they are about supernatural beings such as wolves, vampires and its....

I blinked a few times and looked around.

Alex was in the exact same position as I saw him before the sleep.

Just then I heard a low growl of the stomach.

And the time was 10.20, so I had slept 20 minutes not 10......

'Alex!! Why didn't you wake me up?? Shall we go and eat something... I'm really hungry...' I whined.

'Wait 5 minutes till I finish this round.' Alex said.

'Ok!!' I said, pouting slightly.

Even though the lecture was over half an hour ago, there were still a couple of students in the hall.

'Did Xander come to school today.....'

'Did Xan- stop Thinking about him!!!!' I shook my head scolding myself.

Again, I heard my empty stomach pleading for some food.

And it was already 10.45.

'Alex!! Let's go and eat something... I'm really hungry...' I said

'Wait... 5 minutes....' He said still lost in his game.

'But... come on!!!' I said grabbing his phone.

'What the hell are you doing???' He said while getting up from his seat attempting to take the phone back.

I hid it behind my back ' you know this is what I hate most right. Just sleep will u why are u even playing these non-..'

'Hey!!!!!Babe~' just then Kaci approached us.

'Oh my god.... Hey!!!' I replied, hugging her tightly.

'I thought you and Alex is absent today. What happened?' She asked.

'Oh, it's just.... ' I said, looking at the floor.

'Alex???' She questioned peeking at Alex suspiciously.

'What? 'Alex said with a grumpy face.

'I'm not going to ask ag...' Kaci stopped as someone else caught her attention.

'Hey!! XANDERRRR !!! Xanderr!! 'She shouted as Xander was going out of the hall.

'COME HEREE' and Xander started coming in our direction

'please god save me!!!'

I looked down as Xander slowly came in our direction.

'Hey guys!' His voice felt like a stab in the heart.

No one was saying anything for whole 2 minutes... And the tension was killing me.

'Did you guys had a fight or something? ‘Kaci asked out of nowhere.

'Mm..... No-nope' oh shit why the hell did I stutter....

Kaci raised an eyebrow, giving me an are you serious look......

I glanced up at Alex for some help but for the god’s sake he was busy with his phone.

But how did he get the phone… ok..This isn’t the time to think about that .

'So why did you call me Kaci' Xander stated.

'Nothing. Do I have to have a reason to call you??’ Kaci replied.

‘I’m a bit tired today… so... Catch up you guys later!!’ Xander said.

‘Xander!! You aren’t going anywhere. Talk with Zenara!!’ Kaci ranted at Xander giving a dead serious look.

'You guys should talk and work out the things... This tension is killing me!!! And I'm not going to let our friendship fall apart cause of this!!.'

Alex just stared at me giving a nod, but his expression said a different thing…..

‘But Kaci we are totally ok!!’ I protested, but she ignored me completely.

'We'll see you in the cafeteria!!' with that Kaci and Alex left, leaving me and Xander alone in the hall....

So now what!!! …….
