Yearning

                 Paul hadn't looked her way once since class started. She wanted to apologize properly for her outburst on Saturday. She truly considered him a god friend but yesterday was a day dedicated to her old friends as much as possible since they also needed to be in school today.  There was no time to sulk about it either.  Justin was sure to fit driving practice in right after the tearful goodbyes. They stayed out until it was time for her to go home for the night. She couldn't help but to smile as she remembered Justin feeding her a bowl of mixed fruit while she was driving that he prepared before leaving to pick her up. Her heart couldn't help but to skip a beat as she recalled the feeling of his finger on her lips brushing away a drop of water that had fallen. Oh, my goodness! H

         “Word on the street is that a certain gypsy and you are going on a date this afternoon.” Dana smiled broadly before taking a bite out of her salad.        Alyssa shook her head as she quickly glanced around the cafeteria making sure Justin and Aviva weren't lurking about somewhere.  Although he had mentioned after class that he had some business to take care of during lunch she was clueless as to whether or not, Aviva was a part of that business. “Not a date. He just wanted to go out and get something to eat.”

        Alyssa entered class with Justin beside her as she did every day. His warm eyes glanced at her as he softly smiled sitting beside her. Alyssa’s smile didn’t quite reach her eyes or her heart.  She just felt a little withdrawn since the date with Charlie last week and wasn’t sure what she could do to fix it. Since then Justin was nothing but sweet and thoughtful just as he always however as much as she loved him she couldn’t fully engage in the things they did wholeheartedly.

                Alyssa sat in the English classroom feeling as though she was a new student all over again.
