We're no different

Anthony pov ( addilyn's oldest brother )-

Me and my family sit and wait to see what is going on and why we have been called down here, as soon as we heard our baby sisters names, the tears just started falling. None of us wanted to stop them either, we thought that she was dead. This is especially hard on Axle, I mean hell Addy is his twin and they were always so close. I think that he is the one that broke the most when she went missing. He hit depression hard, he even tried to kill himself once, he feels like it's his fault and that he should have protected her.

But he needs to know it's not.

We all changed quite a bit after she went missing, let's just say we weren't a family you would want to have dinner with. Yeah we were that bad.

We all are just sitting here in this office quite while we're waiting to see what the hell is going on. Axle has tears streaming down his face worse than anybody else. The door to the office opens, Ryder and Lola both walk in, they both have red and puffy faces and they aren't looking too good, my mom gets up and she hugs Ryder and then Lola.

Fuck all of us really are just a giant mess put together, aren't we.

Ryder sits down next to Asher. He's another one of my brothers. Let's just say I have four brothers and one sister, and good God I love them all to death.

A cop finally walks into the room, he gives us all a slight smile and sits down, why does he have a look of happiness on his face, isn't this supposed to be a sad moment?

He finally looks at us and he then has tears slowly coming out his eyes, why is he crying. Wait unless--

" I'm just gonna get to the point, we have found Addliyn Miller, Alive ".

Everyone's heads snap up and we look at him, mom starts sobbing full on. The cop and her both stand up, he hugs her. He is the one who has been working on this case non-stop for the last six almost seven years.

" So right now she is at the hospital right across town, two days ago in the morning there was a girl about 15 almost 16 running down the road and she was right outside of the police office. She was clutching her side and she had multiple injured places all over her body. She was found in Dayton, Ohio. two of the women police officers rushed out to her and then an ambulance was called. She is a very smart girl. She was kidnapped by a man named Morrison Apel. He is under custody and is going under a court case right now. It had been found out that he killed 27 other children and when we searched the house it looks like he was planning on kidnapping another one, if he would have been able to kill Addilyn. He will be facing anywhere from, 10 life sentences to 43 ".

We all look at him and we all have horrified looking faces, everyone is crying and there is no stopping it.

" Can we see her? "

He looks at us and sighs, but then a smile spreads across his face. A very bright smile.

" So yes you can, what came as shock to us is Addilyn seemed to still connect with people very well, she is not scared of anything. This girl is amazing, she talked to the cops and the nurses and told us every single thing we needed to know. She seems to be mentally stable and not a single thing is wrong with her, yes she is physically hurt and she was a bit scared when she woke up. But she can walk fine, her body fluids and everything like that is stable. She is doing amazing. By the way she asked about every single one of you guys and made sure that you guys would be the first people to see

her ".

We all get loaded back up into cars and we head to the hospital. I can't believe she is really alive and she is going to get to come home.

Addilyn pov-

I have just been told that my family is coming and truth be told I have never been more happy than this moment. I really do love them and I can't wait to see them all again.

I'm sitting on my bed and just looking at the book that lays in between my crossed legs. I smile down at the book and just think about how in less than an hour my family will be here and I'm going to get to go home. I wonder if Ryder and Lola still care about me, I wonder if Ryder likes me like I like him. I at least hope he does.

Moments later the door to my room opens and I can see quite a few people standing outside, but for now just the doctor and a nurse come in. The nurse smiles at me and I give her a small smile, the doctor comes over and takes my IV out of my arm, along with taking my heart monitor off. The doctor leaves and the nurse follows her out. The police officer who has been with me all of this way walks into the room, then a woman follows her as soon as I see the womens face tears well up in my eyes she rushes over to me and I pretty much jump into her arms, tears now stream down both of our faces. Mom just holds me and strokes my hair. This is a moment I have been waiting for, for 7 years now.

" Oh Addy, my baby I missed you so much ".

" Mom, you have no idea how much I want to get back to you ".

We just continue to hold each other and I see that Ally ( that was the cops name ) has now left the room. Soon enough we both pull away and we sit on the bed. My mom just takes a moment to look at me, a huge smile spreads across her face as she looks at me and moves my long hair out of my face, tucking it behind my ear.

" Are all the boys here, mom? "

" yeah they are ".

" I want to see Axel first mom, please ".

She nods standing up, kissing my forehead and then leaving the room.

I sit here looking down moments later the door opens and as soon as I see Axel I have never rushed more in my life. I pretty much jump on him, he hugs me and walks us back over to the bed. He just rocks us back and forth and holds me, I'm pretty sure he had missed me most of all, I mean hell. This boy is my twin, he means so much to me. I may love him a bit more than the rest of the boys. He holds me for more than 10 minutes I'm sure of it. When he pulls away I see that he has puffy cheeks and his eyes are bloodshot, yeah this really has taken a toll on him.

" I miss you Addy ".

" I missed you to Axe ".

When mom had been in here she had told me he thought it had been his fault, because that day he had left to use the bathroom at the park and when he came back I was gone. Mom said he went into a state of depression and he tried to end it about a year and a half ago. He also had been cutting for a while.

" Why did you do it Axe? "

He looks at me full of confusion, I don't think he knows mom told me. Something he doesn't know is we have the same scars. Let's just say when you're alone 24-7 you can go into quite a dark place, trust me.

" Do what Addy? "

" Why did you try and end it all, why did you cut yourself? "

He looks down and I now know he is very embarrassed and he now knows that mom told me, but I'm about to show him mine and show him I was in the same dark place he was, so I know why he did it and where he was coming from, its okay I just need him to know im here for him.

He looks back up at me and he surprises me by pulling his sleeves up and showing me his cut marks, some of them are pretty bad, but some of mine are worse. Before he can do anything I pull up my sweater sleeves and I show him my marks. His eyes widen as he sees my marks, the reason I did this is because he knows that we're no different. One moment later he wraps his arms around my body and hugs me holding me tightly and protectively.

He just needed to know that we're no different.
