CHAPTER 2.

Roselia sighed in relief, her first class for the day is already done. She's happy because of the interesting topic that they have discussed.

Her love for reading books, helped her study topics and gained new information in all of the topics that they're going to discuss within the class.

Inside the library and archives of the academy, she always finds herself tucked within its corners to read more books, she loves sharing something new in the class.

"You're really smart, Elia. I should also study and read more books and also for me to answer the questions correctly." Shiloah wondered, Roselia laughed softly.

"I told you, didn't I? You have to read books in advance - study in advance so that, you can answer and at the same time, you can enjoy the discussion." Roselia commented.

"I should come with you, so I can absorb your smartness and study more too." Shiloah pouted. Roselia laughed softly.

Later on, their next professor arrived inside the classroom.

Its professor Blood; he has brought a lot of different kinds of plants and herbs with him.

He carefully laid everything down on the table, then turned to look at the whole class. He grabs the attendance sheet then calls all students one by one.

"We're going to make a potion for the wounds that came from an animal's scratch." Professor Blood stated.

"Go and find a partner, then help each other in making the potion." Roselia happily chose Shiloah as her partner.

"I remember the times when my mentor while attending to these herbs was always teasing me, because I can't seem to perfect it the way she does, even though I already did my best." Professor Blood reminisced and laughed.

All of the female students’ silently squealed when they saw his smile. In all of the professors in the campus – he is the most charismatic, and most attractive of them all. He is well liked by most female students.

"Who's' your mentor, professor?" One of the female students asked. Professor Blood looked at the direction of Roselia.

"Roselia's mother is my mentor. She's the one who taught me, also always the one who teases me the most before." He answered.

"She studied here before, for a year, but then again she left because she has to go somewhere far, just for her to learn how to control Roseus." He explained.

"Roseus? The most powerful dark spirit of all?" Professor Blood nodded as an answer. He clenched his fist when he remembered something.

"That dark spirit was sealed within her body since she was a little kid, but because of that one event, the seal was destroyed. Reason why she has to go out of her way to not hurt someone."

"If she does, she'll burden herself out of guilt because of it. Knowing her, she won’t be able to forgive herself."

Listening to the story of her mother’s past, made Roselia miss her mom all the more. She met her when she was still a little girl, but when they turned seven years' old her mom gave them to her mother’s parents.

Due to her mother's power becoming more dangerous day by day, if they ever plan on staying with her, they might get hurt.

"Always remember that Roseus is the most dangerous dark spirit of all. Understand?" Professor Blood stated.

"Yes, professor!" All of the students answered him.

"And also remember that as long as there is black magic around us, healing magic is useless. That's why we need to learn on how to make medicinal herbs." Professor Blood reminded them.

"Okay, do your tasks now." He added. He gave each of the students, the necessary materials for today’s class activity.

After professor Blood gave the materials to Roselia and Shiloah, Shiloah immediately said something.

"Elia, can you teach me on how to do this? I kinda feel bad relying on you every time we have this kind of tasks." Shiloah stated sheepishly.

"Sure. I understand. I'll guide you on how to do this." Roselia answered. She gave Shiloah the necessary materials.

"Grind the green leaf, then mix it with the green pollen." Roselia instructed. Shiloah followed.

She added the green leaf on a mortar, then grind it using a pestle. After successfully grinding it, she mixed it with a green pollen.

Roselia is guiding her deliberately, due to her having experience on making medicinal herb. She's the one who's treating everyone in the town, doing it every Saturday and Sunday. She was taught by Sheign and Houston – her two older brothers on how to make a medicine because the two of them are often at home.

The two of them are always guarding the Spring of Awakening, one of their tasks to do as older siblings.

"Mix it well until it thickens." Shiloah nodded. She checks it if it's already thick. Roselia also checks it, just to be sure.

"That's okay now. We can submit that to the professor already." Roselia stated when she already made sure that the medicine is ready.

They both called the professor and he immediately went to their place to check their medicine.

He looked, then tasted it. He nodded in agreement and written the grade on the paper that he was holding.

"Perfect score. Just like what I've expected on you, Elia. Just like your mom." The professor commented and Roselia laughs softly.

"Professor, Shiloah was the one who did it. I only guided her on how to do it." Roselia stated.

"I see..." He said then looked at Shiloah's direction while smiling.

"You can be a medic. If you're going to continue this, you can help others too." He commented.

"Do the things that you know. Do the things that make you happy and contented, Ms. Montes. Don't be afraid just because you can't control your magic." He advised.

The professor held Shiloah's shoulder and taps it. After that, he went towards to the other students to check on them.

Shiloah looks down and looks at her hands, closed her eyes, nodded at herself. Then, she looked directly at Roselia.

"Teach me. I'll be your most behave student, Elia. I'll listen to you and take all of your help." She stated.

"Of course! I'll help you with everything I got, Shiloah." Roselia answered then they all look at the professor.

"I hope that you learned something new today and hope that you'll remember this." Professor Blood stated.

"Be safe everyone wherever you go, class dismissed." He added then, went out of the room.

Roselia stood up from her seat then grabs her bag. She turned to Shiloah who's fixing her things.

"Let's go? I'll teach you everything I know." Roselia stated. Both of them went out of the room.

While walking on the hallway, holding hand in hand. Roselia can hold her friend because of a magic spell that she cast. When they turn to the right, Roselia collided with a guy and let go of Shiloah's hand.

"S-sorry." Roselia stated to the guy. He glared at her.

That's when Roselia felt that the guy is a witch hunter.

She can't believe that there is someone who's still alive from their clan. She thought that all of the witch hunters are already dead twenty years ago because of a war.

"Watch where you going next time, witch." He hissed, then walks away from her. She watched as he walks away and she just shakes her head.

‘If he didn’t do something wrong then, I’m not going to do anything to him.’ Elia thought to herself.

She walks with Shiloah again. She didn't mind the witch hunter, even though she felt something was off when she looked at the witch hunter's eyes.

They went at the back side of the academy as they set aside their things on the bench. Shiloah grabbed her wand then prepared herself.

"What do you want to know first, Shiloah?" Roselia asked.

"I want to control my powers first before learning on how to be a medic." Shiloah answered her.

"Ready your wand now." Shiloah prepared her wand. Roselia looked at Shiloah's wand and she immediately thought that, that isn't the problem.

The real problem is the seal on Shiloah's body. Roselia can't destroy that seal recklessly because she thought that there would be a serious side effect if she did.

‘I can’t be reckless in destroying seals without knowing the source.’ Elia thought to herself.

"How do you cast a spell?" Roselia asked as Shiloah prepared herself. She takes a deep breath then closed her eyes.

"Light the way, Leggera!" Shiloah casts a spell. Roselia immediately block her eyes using her arm when the spell exploded in front of them.

"Why did that happen again?" Shiloah asked then looked down. Roselia went towards her, she didn’t found any errors in her magic casting

"Shiloah, can you control your magic before?" Roselia asked her.

"I can control it before, when it comes to water, wind, and earth spells. I'm always failing there." Shiloah explained.

"I can control my light and fire spell but, I don't know why I can't now." Shiloah sat down on the ground.

Roselia thought of a way to help her friend when she remembered something, a medicine that her brother taught her before.

"Stay there, okay? I'll be right back." Roselia stated. She run towards the forest to get the herb that she needs.
