Chapter 16: Hilltop Project Transferred…

The next day, at MU Designers Pvt. Ltd., there was a heavy bustle as Mr. Davis is being notified by Nolan for an urgent meeting. Although, he knows about what has happened yesterday night and who managed the same. This project was their first in mountain regions so he comprehended well that something was amiss. He also understands the severity and related consequences, which he was in the process to get correct but before that he has been called for a meeting at Lee group.

Mr. Davis is been asked to get the Hilltop designer and survey surveillance teams also in the meeting. He briefed his teams and called all the key team members and prepared to leave.

At Lee’s Group

Nolan welcomed them and takes them to the meeting room.

Along with Mr. Davis, Mark, Reese, Nancy & Tros Duke of the designer team and Timmy Chen & Michel Wagh of the Survey & Surveillance team was there. Timmy Chen was a pompous and arrogant lady with sexy curves which she proudly flaunts. Before Reese, she has always been a center of attraction but Reese was a natural beauty with humble nature that attracted all.

When Timmy gets to know about they have a meeting with Lee group president, she got a little excited. She thought she must find an opportunity to get Armaan’s eye. As of course which man on earth can leave a meaty temptation? She also knows what happened yesterday night and prepared well to pass the ball of responsibility to the designer team, especially Reese. Being a survey & surveillance expert she understands her job responsibility and was very well aware of the fact and miss that lead to yesterday’s situation. But she deliberately left it as is but yes she was completely equipped with the reasoning if asked for.

Everybody was waiting for Armaan. After 15 minutes, the door of the meeting room got opened and a dazzling man in a custom-made dark blue color suit entered, followed by Nolan. He is carrying a fearless and gallant aura. Not only women but men in the meeting room were also fascinated and feeling complaisant watching him.

He went forward and stand at the head of the meeting table, everyone stood up the moment when he entered the room. Standing there he gestured everyone to sit. He swept across the room and saw Reese sitting with her head down. Timmy has already straightened her body and started her show.

But predator has already set his eyes on his prey so can her show catch the eyes of Armaan, how self-indulgent and nonsense.

Nolan started the meeting and asked Davis to brief about the Hilltop project. Mr. Davis explained the initials and later asked Mark to elucidate further. Mark was an elegant designer and thorough professional so he detailed out everything. Time to time Mark also asked Reese for few things to explicate, which she also did remarkably well. Although, it was their first mountain site which is critical and sensitive but still from a design perspective they have clearly covered everything.

After hearing everything, he asked Mr. Davis & Mark did they noticed any miss in this. Mr. Davis was an old chap so how he cannot prick what Armaan wants to convey.

Mr. Davis said, “President we know it is our first project of this kind and for this reason, we only took the best and experts from every field. I also understand yesterday's incident can’t be reasoned but our survey & surveillance team has checked everything then only we moved to the next stage.” 

Armaan raised his eyebrows and smiled that was not actually a smile.

He asked, “Who is the person responsible for survey & surveillance?”

Before Mr. Davis could introduce, Timmy got up and responded with a high speed as if she will miss the chance.

Timmy said, “President, I am Timmy Chen from the survey & surveillance team and we have covered every essential detail that is vital for the project. I am an industry expert on this, so I am pretty sure we didn’t miss anything. And for yesterday, I believe either the design team must have let pass some of the information provided by us for a site visit or it’s just a coincidence. We have clear and specified out every piece of data.” Her confidence was at par but her indirect statement on the design team eared to all.

Being successful in business also requires a person to be a little Machiavellian, and Armaan also carries the same amazing characteristics else how he can be on top. How can he not understand her intentions? The way she is eyeing Reese was enough for him to realize where things have gone and why.

He gave her a brilliant smile, seeing which she got rooted on the spot. How can a man have such an alluring smile, she gets away with that.

Armaan said, “You are absolutely right Ms. Timmy but I only want to ask you one question.” Nolan passed few papers to Timmy and Armaan asked, “Can you please explain this contradiction?”

Seeing the report her face color changed to green than to red and later white. She never expected Armaan to have such data compiled so quickly. She was under the impression as if it would be a general meeting to discuss the project problem but she never in her dreams thought that anyone can catch the missed data in her report.

The report was carrying the weather vitals of the last five years, which was essential for any mountain site construction as it helps the predictability rate of weather change. It also states how much rain rate is expected in the coming year and which areas are marked as critical. The Hilltop site comes under the semi-critical category but it was still significant enough. 

These vitals are critical as they lay the foundation of any construction. Timmy has only gathered two-year data which tampered the predictability rate. That also manipulated the rain rate values. This report clearly shows that this particular period is not safe to start off but in Timmy’s report, she recommended this period.

She was working at MU’s since its inception, so nobody doubts her capability and blindly followed.

But this time she was agitated with Reese and takes her as an opponent. She wanted to harm her but she forgets that this erroneous report will also affect the lives of people who are involved right now or will get involved in the future.

The same report was passed to Mr. Davis and Mark, and it was enough for them to realize what went wrong and why. Nobody needs an explanation. They all sat there with an ashen face.

Armaan stood up and said, “Mr. Davis I hate unethical people who either hold some kind grudges or are overconfident above their professionalism. MU’s are now a part of Lee’s where we value people and respect honesty. I hope you understood what I mean and won’t let me down.” His meaning was clear enough.

With that, he left but when he reached the door, he suddenly turned around and said from now onwards Hilltop design team will work in Lee’s office premises till this project gets completed. Our senior team will monitor due to the criticality involved and I will personally need to be informed.

Mr. Davis nodded but Timmy was still to come back from the shock.

It seems to be a statement but was more of an order.
