LOGINI found myself outside Clyde's apartment two days later. I'm not entirely sure what took me there. Either it was my undying love for him or guilt. I took a deep breath and knocked.
Louis opened the door and shot me a death glare, "What do you want, Shannon?"
"Hello to you too, Louis." I smiled. "I hope you're having a good day. I come in?"
"I was until you arrived," He raised an eyebrow. "Are you spying on us?"
I laughed, "Come on, Louis. Why would I do something like that? Don't be ridiculous."
"Chris sent you, didn't he?" He studied me, still blocking the way in. How frustrating!
"Of course not. I just felt like seeing Clyde. Can I go in now."
"He's your sister's ex," he said.
"So what? Can't I see my sister's ex if we're friends? What the hell is wrong with you? This doesn't concern you at all."
"You can't kiss him. Especially when your whole family hates him. You have some nerve, girl. How do you sleep at night knowing you're betraying your own sister?"
"Leave me alone," I retorted. "You're not in position to judge me. Just so you know, I don't care what you think about me."
"But I'm in position to spill your little secret," he smirked. "So you better start thinking of treating me with some respect."
Blackmailing me? What a jerk. It worried me that he could easily ruin everything for me. I hated it when someone had power over me. I had to act well.
"Okay, I'm sorry. Will you let me in now?"
"You're beautiful," he moved to the side, letting me enter. Did Clyde's friend just hit on me? "Slut."
I turned swiftly, "What? What did you just say?"
"Nothing," he grinned, attempting an innocent look. "Go on."
Slut? How dare he call me that? My fingers clenched and instead of knocking, I ended up banging the door to Clyde's bedroom with all my anger.
"What's wrong with you?" I heard Clyde's voice. "Come in!"
I turned the door knob and stepped in. "Hey"
He looked up, eyes widening when he saw me.
"Oh, it's you."
"Yeah," I sat on his bed.
"What do you want?" He was cold. That was a first. He'd never seemed so uninterested in me even when he was with Keri.
"Why is everyone acting weird?" I asked.
"You know better," Clyde said returning his eyes to his phone. How disrespectful!
"I didn't sleep with Chris if that's you are thinking."
He stood up in front of me,"I wasn't thinking that. Why are you here anyway?"
"Because I love you and I wanted to find out how you were doing."
"Ever heard of cell phones? You could have just called."
"I wanted to see you," I said, holding his hand. "I missed you, Clyde."
"Why do you care anyway?" He pulled his hand away. "You have Chris, he's better because he even buys you an expensive phone using dirty money. You love that, don't you?"
"What!" I exclaimed. Now I understood why he and his friends were acting cold towards me. "How did you know that?"
"I have my sources. Did you think I wouldn't find out? I can see you weren't planning on telling me and you have the nerve to come here claiming to love me."
"Are you spying on me, Clyde?"
"Sorry to disappoint you but no," Clyde said in a matter of fact tone, "Your boyfriend has a big mouth, that's all."
"I'm not dating Chris! He's not my boyfriend."
"Not what I hear."
That motherfucker! I was going to kill him. I was so angry. He gave me a phone just to brag about it? How could I be so stupid to trust him.
I pulled out my phone to call Chris. "Nice phone." Clyde commented, studying it. "What a sweet guy!"
"Hey Angel," Those were his first words. I felt like dumping his stupid phone.
"Hey Angel my foot. How could you do that to me? You're so sick and I'm sick of you. You fucking piece of-"
"Shannon!" He interrupted. "What are you talking about?"
"You don't know? You got me a phone and announced it to the whole freaking world making me look like a charity case. I told you I didn't need your stupid phone."
"It's not like that."
"Then what is it like?" I sneered.
"You have a bestfriend, right?"
"Everyone has a best friend, Chris. Get to the point."
"You tell them everything you do to them, right?" He continued.
"Why not? How's that even relevant here, you idiot?"
"Well, it's just like Kyle and I," Chris explained. "I tell him everything I do. It's all his fault. I'm sorry, sweetheart. Will you forgive me?"
I tried to process everything.
"This is too much, Chris" I said, glancing at Clyde who wore a blank expression.
"Please, you know I'd never do anything to hurt you. Will you forgive me?"
"Okay I forgive you." I said. "You should get better friends, though."
"What!" Clyde barked, suddenly by my side. "You can't just believe what that moron says!"
"I will do as I please," I told Clyde after hanging up.
"You choose him?"
"Don't ask me stupid questions. You know what, I think he's an amazing person so yes, I chose him."
It was only a matter of seconds before I felt a hard slap on my cheeks that rendered me speechless. I stared at Clyde like he'd grown four eyes. I touched the spot where his hand had hit.
"I hate you," I yelled, tears welling in my eyes. I wiped them away with the back of my hand. "I'm going to him now and you should stay away from me."
"Suit yourself." Clyde said with a cold look on his face. He stood up and opened the door for me to go. "Don't come looking for me when he breaks your heart."
"Wow, you're such a gentleman." I said, standing up. "I hate you!"
On Friday night I received a call from Kim inviting to their family picnic. Although I was not very close to Clyde's family, I always tagged along because of Kim's consistent invitations. We used to be like peas in a pod when Clyde and Keri were dating. In most of their family picnics, two members outside the family were supposed to be invited as a rule. To make the occasion more lively, Clyde and Kim had to invite a close friend of theirs to join. I admired that family tradition of theirs.Kim always chose me because she said I was her best friend though she wasn't my best. We were super close though not in the way I was close to friends I wasn't related to. Clyde always came with Louis or his other friends. Before my first kiss with Clyde I'd always loved the picnics because it gave me a chance to hang out with the guy I was crushing on.This time I wasn't thrilled at all. I had not been with his family since we kissed and I knew awkwardness was g
After exiting the room, I immediately dialled Chris's number."Hello," I said."Hey Shannon. Are you okay? You don't sound well."I wiped my face with my palm. "I'm not okay.""What's it, baby? What has happened?""Can we meet?""I'm going to the campus right now," I said. "Can we meet at Somi's cafe?"I got there before he did. He walked in when I was sipping my iced tea. We spent a lot of time talking about normal student issues for semester tests were starting in a week and the atmosphere was changing. Most students were becoming serious and during the night, there were few people in clubs and bars around Campus."Why are you so nice to me?" I asked Chris as I gulped the last of my iced tea. Chris couldn't even finish a cup of iced tea because he preferred coffee. It was the third I'd drank since I entered the cafe."Because you

Chris's lips met mine. My mind was telling me it was wrong and I should stop yet my body ached for more of him. I kissed him back, enjoying the sweet feeling that arose from the connection of our lips. Desire raged through my whole body as the kiss became steamy. He disconnected his lips from mine and they dropped kisses along my jawline and downwards to my neck. His right hand went under my top caressing my tummy which tightened and arched at the contact. His gentle touch and kisses left me craving more. I didn't think I'd ever get enough.I pulled away and lifted up his shirt so he could remove it. He froze for a second but smiled, and pulled it off his head. He was lean but he had well defined abs. I smiled, tracing my fingers along the lovely tattoos on his smooth but hard skin."They're awesome," I told Chris who was not listening because he was too busy trying to get my top off. It finally went over my head and landed on
"I can't believe this," Kelsey said, placing the battery on the table. It was the only thing in the phone that survived intact. She grabbed a broom and collected the remaining pieces of my phone. "Even after knowing that you have a boyfriend, Chris is still after you? How did you get so lucky, my friend?""And he's gonna get you a phone? Just like that?""Is there something you're not telling us?" Ruby asked. She bent over to unbuckle her brown flats. "We're your friends, you know."I studied the girls' faces and they seemed to share the same opinion. Anyone could tell they were highly suspicious by their smiles and that was not good for me at all. Maybe they had already talked about me behind my back.Shit!"Alright," I sighed. "The thing is they don't like each other at all. They're kind of enemies.""So you knew Chris before that party?" Nina asked unwrapping a bar of chocolate. She took a g
Fury swept over me the moment Clyde mentioned Chris. I broke away and went to sit on my bed. This wasn't how I wanted things to go. If he wanted us to work out, he had to put his little feud aside."I can't just stop talking to him."Clyde glared at me. "What? Why not?""He seems to be a good person," I reasoned. "He'd be hurt if I just stopped talking to him. We're kind of friends now.""So you wanna please him and hurt me? Wow that's really great, Shannon. Thank you for being so considerate. I love you so much more now.""Stop being dramatic. I'm not trying to hurt you," I explained. "Just because you hate Chris doesn't mean I should hate him. I don't even know what happened between you guys. Why should I get involved?""You don't know because it's none of your business." Clyde came to sit next to me. I let him hold my hand. "All you need to know is he's not what he makes you thin
