Worse nightmare

CHAPTER TEN

JEFF

We were all watching news on TV about how Romeo died. 

"This was really bad." Mrs Jenifer blurt out while shedding tears at the corners of her eyes. 

"Indeed ......Jeff do you know that girl?" Dad asked staring at me.

 " No."I lied.

 "How come? But its your best friend's lover." Dad continued. 

"Please,just leave me alone dad." I said fuming in anger as i stood up abruptly heading to my room and left my parents in awe. 

"And then?"  Mrs Jenifer enquired. 

"I don't know babe,maybe he is just sad because he lost his friend."  Mr Asha said while  Mrs Jenifer just rolled her eyes at his husband. 

" Did you just roll your eyes at me?" Mr Asha asked as his wife stood up immediately as if ready to rush out of the room.

" No babe,you overseen it. I can't do that." 

" Go to our bedroom right now,your punishment awaits you, now go; don't you dare talk back again unless you are ready for the doubled punishment. " He said as his wife just looked at him and headed to their bedroom.

" It actually slipped my mind that he abhors eye rolls." Mrs Jenifer said under her breath as she was already getting into their bedroom.

LAYLA

 I yawned and my eyes fluttered open. I did not see Naisy besides me. 

"Argghh!" I exclaimed.

"I totally forgot my sister slept outside." I scrambled out of bed as i sluggishly headed outside; at the back of the house and found her cuddling her legs.

 "Sister let's go inside you have to bath." I pleaded. She didn't hesitate this time around. I intertwined my hand with hers and headed into the house. 

"I was with Romeo at night,we had a good time,and he actually said he is coming today." She uttered happily when we got to our room.

 "Naisy Romeo is dead." 

"No,he is coming and you will see." She pouted and started singing a song I don't even know. The knock at the main door was heard which broke the silence in the house; apart from Naisy's song.

 "You see! I told you, its him." She beamed. 

"Naisy please come." Kailer blurt out after opening the main door and we both walked to the main door downstairs. 

"See,I told you Romeo is here." Naisy said on our way to the sitting room. 

"Where is he?" He questioned as soon as we got to the sitting room. 

"Who?" Kailer asked baffled. 

"My Romeo....you said someone wants to see me,who is that someone?" She enquired getting pissed off. 

"No,Jeff is the one who wanted to see how you are still doing." Kailer replied and her jaw dropped. 

"Naisy can you at least bath and take off this stained clothes,and what is wrong with that knife in your hand? Come on,give it to me." Jeff blurt out getting close to Naisy who kept moving backwards. 

"  You! don't you dare come near me, or else I will cut your neck with it right now and feed it to the lions. All I want now is my Romeo,not you stupid asses standing here before me." She yelped pointing Jeff with a knife she was holding. Jeff's heart back flipped .

 "Layla,I think you should call Jeet,she needs to be taken to the hospital." Kailer whispered to me as i began dialing Jeet's number.

 📞 "hey doctor." 

📞 "Layla right?" 

📞 "yes,we need your help,Naisy is getting out of hand,please." 

📞 "I'm coming right away." He promised meekly and hung up. Immediately a knock was heard on the door. 

"See,I told you that Romeo is coming." She said merrily and rushed to the door to open it.

This is more than a disaster, I can't believe Naisy has turned this way just in a swift.

 "Babe I........"

 "Naisy are you okay?" Jeet asked as he walked in.

 "I thought you are him,I want to see him."  She stated.

"Who?" Jeet asked.

 "Romeo." 

"Romeo is dead Naisy." 

"No! Don't you ever say that again." She blocked her ears with both  hands,followed by a  scream.

 "Okay, I need to take her to the hospital, she is totally crazy,she might spent a year or more in hospital." Jeet explained. 

"You are actually the crazy one here because I was with Romeo last night." She half yelled. 

"Its okay take her," I said while tears started welling up in her eyes. Jeet gave me a tight hug while I clutched onto his shirt tightly like I didn't wanna let go.

 "Layla she will be fine,stay strong for her sake okay?" Jeet consoled me while wiping the tears at the corners of my eyes and forged a smile. Jeet took Naisy and they walked off.  He actually had to pull her for she didn't want to leave.

 I walked to my room,plumped on bed while holding the necklace mama gave me. 

"Mama please let my sister get well,I pray that she will be fine,and mama I'm asking you to protect Romeo where ever he is,I don't care if he is really dead or not,but please protect him mama. Blessed be." I prayed,then yanked a tissue from the box and blew my nose. I later switch off the light and then pulled the blanket all over myself and drifted into a deep slumber. 

JEFF

 As soon as I got to my office I slumped down on my seat. 

"Uhhh! This lot of blabbering about Romeo's death is driving me crazy,why is everyone talking about him? I'm starting to develop a painful headache. Oh God!"I thought to myself. 

Suddenly ere was a knock on the door.

"Come in." I uttered. The girl I least expected cat walked in.

"Uhhh! what a nightmare. What does she want from me now?" I thought to myself. 

"Hey Jeff." She greeted after sitting down on a couch. 

"Melisser."I smiled; a faux smile to be precise.

 " so I have heard that Romeo got killed."she said with a wide smile plaster on her face.

Is this girl mad? How could she reveal such a smile on her face yet the person she loved got killed?

"So what?what do you want from me? Because if I remember well you are Romeo's ex girlfriend not mine,and the fact that you use the same name as my girlfriend's mother sucks." I smirked and gave her a cold glare. 

"Oh! Your girlfriend Kailer?I actually forgot that her mother is Meliser,but anywhere that's not why I'm here,I just came to inform you that I will be staying in this country for full three years and guess what?we are already friends with your girlfriend." She smiled devilishly.

 "So what does that suppose to do with me?"

 "Calm down Jeff,you and I know very well who killed Romeo,so don't you dare play pranks with me. We will proceed with our chat  next time; until then." She winked at me and set off. I just swallowed the lump that clinched to my throat.

 "The sheep in a wolf's clothing is here again,time to act smart." I thought.
