I need to go

Susan stood up she moved closer to the window side to see what is going on in the outer world. She smile when she see movement of people. 

   It is almost eight days she has woken up now, she has felt more better and less pain in her ankle. Her smile fade when she remember she has no where to go and more so how is she going to pay the hospital bills.

 She needed work and accommodation. She did not need to be told twice that going back to the warm restaurant is no... no.... no... She will not give Sonia chance to damage her again the damage she have now is enough.

 She sigh and rub her temple. ' how many ways will I avenge myself now?' She said to herself and sit on her bed. She took the mineral bottle and sip water from it. ' I need to go!. Staying here will not help me. I need ....' 

 " what do you need my dear? You km w you can count on me and trust me you will have everything." 

  " don't worry we are ready to provide everything you need my lady." Peter jest.  

 Susan look at the two people that interrupt her thought with a smile.

 " You know the two of you are funny. when did you come in? She asked in order to change the topic. 

She has also met Peter, he is very funny guy and efficient. The two of them click immediately they met. It was as if they have met before. 

 " We came in some minutes ago but you are lost in your world.

 " Cathy answered her sitting on her bed.  Susan look at the two of them and sigh.

" what is it? is anything bothering you? "  Susan look at him with a smile .

 " Peter, you know you actually read my mind. Are you a soothsayer or something?" She also jested.

 " If I am a sayer will you patronise me?" peter also counter facing the two.

" Count me out." Susan said with a raised hand. 

  "I think if you start that business it will suit you more." Cathy chimed in with a straight face that make all of them burst into laughter. 

" OK! back to what you are saying my dear. When we came in you are talking to yourself is there something you need.? Cathy asked placing her hand on her shoulder. 

 " Susan, I want you to see us as a friend you can tell us what is on your mind. Don't hesitate to say what is on your mind." Peter said with a sigh. 

 Susan just look at them gratefully." Cathy, Peter, I need to go. You know I need to get back to my job. I have to pay the hospital bill as well. I am already gratefully you have taken care of me and fed me but at least I have to pay the bills and fend for myself too....." She was interrupted by Peter " Where are you going from here?" 

" Back to the down town. I don't belong here. My work and my house where I still manage is there." Susan answered looking at her fingers.

   The two exchange a look secretly. Cathy shake her head. She needed to help her friend. She knows Jerry will surely faint to here this. She signal Peter with her eyes to say something. "  My dear...You can not do that. Your life there is not safe any more and you yourself is very well aware of that. More so the shabby house you are referring to as your house as been destroyed by rain..." 

 Susan look up when he mentioned the house. She did not remember it has been destroyed. Suddenly she widen her eyes she has regain her memory of the night.  She remember been in her home for two days suffering from pain before drenched in the rain and a man came in to carry her before she fainted. The two noticed the change in her expression.

  " Are you OK!?." Cathy moved closer to her to check on her. 

  " Am fine." She said withdrawing her hand from her grip.  " Alright mother hen she is fine." Peter said to lighten the mood wish earn him a glare from Cathy.

 Susan just chuckle at the two before she use her two palms to cover her face. ...." So as I was saying. why can't you stay here? no one will find you in the capital, they will not even know you are here or what do you think? Peter concluded. 

 " My dear as he has said going there will endanger your live...." 

 " Honestly I know, but I don't have anywhere to go. no one to turn to and no family to support me! then what do you want me to do? how am I going to pay up my hospital debt or can you have me work here so I can pay up my debt. Susan said with sorrow lacing each word.

 Peter and Cathy burst into laughter hearing what she said. She look at the two, she did not know what she said that is making them laugh like that.

 " Don't look at us that way! you know, you working here will suit you better. At least I get to see your beautiful face every morning. " Cathy slap his arm for saying that.

 " Ouch! witch."  the two ladies just ignore him. Cathy continue with what she was saying.

 " Sweetie you should have let me land. So you know your life will be in danger yet you wish to go there.?" Susan just shrugged without a word.

 " My dear although we just get to know each other but don't you see us as a friend? We have already count you as our friend as for the bill you are talking about.... It has been taken care off. ".  Susan widen her eye's at that. She know she is staying in VIP ward and in the best hospital there is no doubt their bill will be very crazy. " y.....you... m..mean the bill has been care for? she manage to ask of her surprised state.

 Peter and Cathy just nod at her without saying anything. Susan stood up from her seat and hug the two of them. " Am so grateful to you. Thank you so very much. Thanks you.!" 

" You know you don't have to say thank you hugging me like this is enough." Peter teased  her.

 " Susan as for you accommodation why can't you stay with me. I am the only one staying and my apartment is big enough to accommodate the two of us. What do you think." Cathy asked . Susan just stand looking at her as if she has grown two heads she can not process what she is hearing. How can she allow her a stranger to stay in her house. Is she not afraid she will harm her?. 

 " Why do you want me to stay with you? are you not afraid I will harm you or something? You know we have not met before now and you can't judge a book by the cover."  Susan asked her gently. Cathy and Peter just look at each other and they both smile at her.          

 " Don't worry my lady. I trust her judgement. We know you can not harm her or anyone. So you will be staying with her and as for you work... " He paused deliberately.   " We have talk to one of our friend. He need an assistant and he is ready to help."   With that said they have finally broke the camel back with the last straw. How can they be so nice to her. What good deed did she do in her past life to meet the two of them. She burst out crying. The two was startled when they saw her crying. Peter look at Cathy asking if he has said something wrong.   

" No peter! You said nothing wrong. Am just happy and grateful. I don't know what I have done to deserve your help. I don't know the good deed I have done to have met the two of you. You nurture me to live, provided accommodation for me even job. Thank you so much." Susan said in between her sobbing. The two heave a sigh of relieve when they heard what she said.    " Susan you are most welcome. We are just helping a friend. I know if you find us in the same shoe you will be willing to help too. So, it is not a big deal. Now my friend, stop crying and wipe your tears away. I have process your discharge papers and we will move when I finish my duty.  Just lay down and rest till then." Cathy said helping her to wipe her tears with her handkerchief.

 " Alright my lady, clean your tears and rest. I am treating you to dinner after work." The two leave her alone in the ward to attend to their jobs.

Later that day Cathy brought a black sleeveless gown with an orange overall coat for her to change into. Peter drive the two ladies to one of the best restaurant in their area. They all dine and wine but Susan only took orange juice. While they are dining certain someone sat at a corner by himself just looking at her. He is glad she is happy and he looking forward to be with her.  " Thank you so much for the dinner. I don't know how to express my gratitude for everything." Susan said to Peter when he drop them at Cathy house. He just smile at her without saying anything, he want to hug her but he feared for his head. The possessive husband is around the corner waiting to strike. " Good night. " The two of them wave at him as he drove off.
