Knock! Knock!

"Come in !" came the reply . Susan open the door to the office of the CEO,she look around to see the interior. 

Although everything is arranged fine and neat but the colour on the wall is too boring for her liking while did all men in business world like this grey,black and white colour. It is not as bright as her office back home. 

She quickly shook her head inward at the thought. Focus Susan focus, she chilled herself internally.  She look up to see the man back faced her, he was looking outside through the window. She wonder why he will turn his back at her when he was the one that wanted to interview her.

 She cleared her throat to attract his attention...." Sorry sir I am....." she was cut short when he turn to face her ,her jaw dropped to the floor to see who is presently in front of her. 

She was shocked to say the least. What is Mr Jerry doing here?. Is he the CEO of this company ? no wonder he was rumoured to be ruthless! who won't be ruthless in the business world? she thought. 

" Miss Susan? can you close your mouth already, don't invite flies into that beautiful mouth of yours. " He jested. 

  He could not belief he still have the capacity to joke like that. It seems it is a good thing to have her here. He said to himself. Susan close her mouth and cough slightly to cover her embarrassment. She looked at him straight in the eyes with a raised brow. 

 " Am sorry for my attitude sir. Am here for the interview Sir." 

 Jerry smile brightly at her, she nearly got blind from his beautiful smile with dimple on his cheek. He look more handsome and sexy when he smile. She slap herself for having a pervert thought.

 " You can drool all you want miss Susan!.  I know am handsome, you don't have to look at me like that." Jerry said sarcastically. 

Susan was startled when she heard him. She stand with open mouthed,she didn't know what is suddenly wrong with her. How can she make mistake twice in five minute during an interview. 

She decided to stay mute and look at the floor.

" You can sit down miss Susan. " he said with a satisfied smile. He knows he has an effect on her which means his work will be much easier. 

 Susan composed herself and make herself comfortable on the chair in front of him. She look up to face him with a face full of seriousness.  She will not allow anything to ruin her chance to get this job today, she promise herself. 

 " Miss Susan, my friend has brief me about you but I want to hear directly from you." Susan shifted uncomfortably on her seat. She did not know how or what to say. She wished he did not ask that. She inhale and what she could say was " I am Susan Richard, am not an indigene of this country but circumstances brought me here."  

 Jerry nod in understanding and did not push further. He want to know the circumstances but patient is all what he needs right now. 

" Miss Richard, I want to know if you will be capable to work as my assistant? "  Susan was stunned to hear that. 'Are you kidding me, why won't I work when I need this job badly. Even if you ask me to work as cleaner I will do .' She said in her head. 

  " I will do a perfect job for you sir." she answered gently. " do you know what your job as my assistant demand?" 

  " yes sir! I know you are a busy man with a big work load. I have to prepare your schedule and attend business meetings with you as your assistant. " She said. "Alright then when are you starting." He asked without looking at her.

 She was surprised on what she heard did he just asked when she is starting does that mean she get the job? " Sir? did you just ask when I will resume?"

 " You heard me right miss Richard. I don't repeat myself."  She did not mind his tone at all. She just stood and beam brightly she get the job! she get the job!. She wanted to scream right now but she swallow her joy and smile at him. 

    " Thank you sir. I will start immediately. " she said not concealing her excitement at all.

Jerry smile at her. He likes her smile . He promise himself to always put smile on herself forever. " Are you happy Miss Richard?" Jerry asked with amusement.

" Very! very Sir! " 

Jerry nod in understanding before resuming his work.

" Sir, what can I do right now sir? do you want your coffee or water?" 

" Miss Richard, I did not ask you to start immediately! Go home now rest then you can start tomorrow. I resume by seven in the morning, you know what that means?" 

" Yes sir! Thank you for the opportunity sir. Can I take my leave sir? " 

" Sure but let me walk you to the door!" Jerry said standing up from his seat.

Susan was surprised but did not say any thing. She just follow behind him silently.

Right outside the door those at the door eavesdropping scurry away in fear when they heard them coming out. They were curious on the relationship of the two. The president still has Assistant Matt, did he want to sack him or what? more so he has not participated in the interviewing any applicant before, why the sudden change. The two secretaries are curious.

 They hurry to their cubicle . Their jaw dropped to the ground when they saw their usually aloof boss escorting her outside with a bright smile on his face. They wonder when he last smile like that. Now they are more interesting in knowing the relationship between the two.  

Jerry pretend he did not see the expression on the faces of his secretaries, he led Susan to his private elevator and follow closely behind her. They two secretaries look on not understanding what just happened, not even once has he allowed anyone to use his private elevator, they wonder what charm the lady has.

 They compose the selves and resume their work. They really wish assistant Matt is around to quench their taste of curiosity.

Jerry follow Susan to the first floor and order the driver to drop her off. Susan was stunned she did not know why the whole president of such big company will escort her out and even instruct the driver to drop her off. " Sir! you don't have to worry about me....I can take cab home." she said not feeling comfortable with his gaze.

  Jerry gaze at her with a cold gaze that will nearly freeze her when she ask him not to worry. He did not answer and just hand his car key to him and turn around. Susan just stare at his retreating back. She could only accept defeat and follow the driver to the parking lot.

Jerry return to his office in a rather good mood. He went through his work silently till evening with no one to bother him. He suddenly smile when he remember he will have a new assistant from tomorrow onward. He has given Matt a month of vacation to enjoy himself and relax, he deserve the rest for working with him and not demand a break for the past four years. He believes before the one month he will be able to achieve his aim. Jerry knock off work early and head to the Tim's mansion in a good mood leaving all his worker baffle. He needed to sleep early to be able to wake up as early as possible in order to look good. He has also resume his workout season. He promote e himself to look good for his wife.
