My Mysterious Mate

"Wait come back!" Edith shouts to a boy her age. He was handsome nothing like anyone in her family. There was something with that boy that she could not help but be drawn to him.

He keeps on running towards the woods. "Wait for me" Edith tells him again. It seems her call has fallen to deaf ears. He keeps on running never looking back. 

Edith tries to follow him, running as fast as she can. She blinks and then he vanished completely. She looked everywhere but there was no sign of him. 

How can someone vanish just like that? She wondered. Suddenly she felt a jolt of electricity running into her feet moving upwards into her stomach and aiming thru her heart. 

"Ahhhhh, it hurts. Stop it! It hurts. I can't take this anymore!" She shouts. She didn't know where that electricity came from but its there. She could not shake off the pain. She tried to shift to her wolf but nothing happens. 

"Help! Help! Ahhhh, it hurts so much. It is already in my heart." She cries out. She doesn't know if she will survive the pain. Tears ran down her face as the pain sips thru every vein in her heart. 

"Hermana wake up. You are dreaming again. Wake up hermana. It's not real." Trish tries to shake Edith from her bed. She was sweating a lot. Beads of sweat trickle down from her forehead towards her mouth. She is crying and thrashing in her bed. 

"Hermana wake up!" Trish tried to shook her again but it seems the more she shooks her the more she cries louder. 

She was running out of options. If Edith doesn't wake up after she tries again, she will definitely pour down water in her face. 

"Hermana wake up! It's fine, no one is hurting you." She tried to wake her again but she is still fast asleep. 

Trish rushed to her bathroom and took out a bucket full of water. She hurriedly went back to Edith and splashed it all over her face.

"What, what did just happened?" Edith called out. She was soaking wet in the middle of the night and her bed was wet as well. 

"Trish what did just happen? Why am I drenched in water?" Edith asked her again. 

She just smiled and hid the bucket at her back. "Hermana, I am so sorry. You were having nightmares again. You were sweating, crying and thrashing in your sleep. 

"I tried to wake you up a couple of times but you wouldn't. Then it occured to me the last time this happened only a bucket of water helped you wake up." She smiled. She knows that smile of hers was deadly. She still has that mischievous attitude she got from their hermana Alex. 

"Trish! I will kill you one of these days. Really that is your solution for me to wake up? I was in a good dream already trying to run to a handsome boy and suddenly it turned into a nightmare." Edith explains to her sister her dream. 

This has been her dream most nights now ever since she shifted two years ago. This time is different though, she could feel an electric current running thru her veins burning it as it passes. 

What is happening to me? Here I am, squatting in my little sister's bedroom for fear of dying in my sleep. She tells her self. An internal monologue she does after the dream comes to a halt. 

"Trish could you help me?" She asks her calmly. Trish knows that whenever she has settled down from her nightmare, she becomes a different person. Someone who is shy, quiet and reserved. 

'Thank goddess that she allows me to sleep in her bedroom.' Edith mustered in her breath.

"Si hermana, what do you need help with?" She asked while stretching her arms towards her older sister. She has grown significantly in the few years. From a chubby cute little girl to a slender body of a warrior. 

But to Edith she will always be her annoying little sister. 

"Can you help me get up from this bed? I need to change my clothes and dry my hair. It feels as if I have taken a bath already." She told her. This has been a routine of theirs as of late. She would wake up from Edith's screams and then she will wake her up as well. 

If she have sweat all over her night dress then she changes them. She helps Edith stand up from the bed most of the times. Edith don't know why, but she feels exhausted after she wakes up from her nightmares. Her eyes has a permanent dark circles already from all the sleepless night. 

"Just hold on to my arms hermana. One, two, three" There we go. 

"Can you walk towards the bathroom?" She asks me. 

"Si, I can manage thank you hermanita. I apologive for this. Your sleep has been disturbed again." She gently walks into the bathroom after that. 

"No worries hermana, it's almost time for our training. I have to go down now. Let me know if you need my help. I will be back after I get some food." Ah yes behind that slender body of hers was a girl who loves food. Literally adores food. She can go on a day eating everything she likes and still crave some more when dinner comes. 

"Thank you Trish. I got this already hermanita. Go on already. Jaime won't like it if you are late." Edith replies. For wolves it was easy to hear the sounds. They can even hear whispers if they are in the same room. 

Edith grabbed her towel from the post outside the bathroom and went inside. 

'Who was that boy? He seemed familiar but I could not figure out his name.' She thought to herself. She must ask her hermana about this. She needs to look for her mate already. It has been two years of attending the yearly ball for all the packs in the islands but still she came home empty inside her heart. 

She was losing hope that her mate is nearby. She was thinking of traveling back to España to her grandparents. Maybe her mate is there waiting for her. Oh, how she has dreamt of hugging him and smelling his scent against her body. 

"Snap out of it Edith. You need to prepare already. Training is about to start" She was suddenly taken out of her fantasy as Trish called her out from the bedroom. 

"Are you full already?" She asks her. 

"Yes, they had pandesal and keso again. It must be your lucky day hermana. Those a your favorite right?" She said. 

"Oh, those are my favorite alright." She replied.
