9. Preparations

'Mijas, please come to my office please.' He mindlinked his children and his mi amor.
'Si Papa' Edith responded. She was nervous as Pat was in a hurry to leave after his talk with her Papa.
She hurriedly came upstairs in the second floor where his Papa had made an office for himself. Before he was in the third floor but as Alex her hermana assumed the Alpha role, he willingly gave her the office. He now took out a few meters of space in the library.
"Hi Papa. How was your talk with my mate? He seemed to be in a hurry to go." Edith asks him. She could not wait to know what happened.
"It was good. I called you hear to discuss our conversation also. Let us just wait for your Mama and sisters." Their Papa explained. She tried to read his facial expressions but she came up with nothing. He didn't seem happy or angry. He had a blank expression.
They waited a couple of minutes until her Mama came in at last. They were giddy as their Papa rarely calls them as of late.
"Mijas, as you have known Edith has finally found her mate. Although, there seems to be something not normal about him. I have noticed as well the manner he speaks like he came from my fathers time. He has used terms that are no longer used now.
In order to get to know him further, I allowed him to court you Mija, as long as he does that within this house. I also said that you need a chaperone to be with you all the time. This is for your safety as he has a lot of vague answers. He said his parents were rulers of a kingdom outside of this town. I haven't heard of them yet.
This leads me to my next concern. I asked him to bring his parents here on Sunday. We will host a party in their honor. Alex and Mi amor will you take the responsibility to organize? It would be great to know them well." Their Papa dropped a lot of information to us. He paused so we could digest everything he just said.
"So you agree that Edith's mate is mysterious?" It was Alex who asked.
"Si mija, he seems weird." Their Papa replied and nodded.
"Then why did you allow him to enter our house again? And this time along with his parents?" Their Mama had that concerned look on her face.
"Mi amor, it would be best to know them in our territory rather than we go to theirs. He suggested we visit their kingdom. And I refused to do that. I won't put you in danger." He explained his actions. It was unlike him to invite a stranger to our house suddenly.
"Are you sure this is the best way to meet them? Meeting in our own home? What if they are enemies?" Their Mama asked again. She was scrunching up her forehead. She did not agree with her husband about this.
"May I say something?" Edith interrupted them.
"Yes you may mija." Her Mama said and her Papa nodded.
"Did you allow Pat to court me or is he still banned to visit until Sunday?" Edith was curious. She doesn't this she can wait until Sunday for her to meet Pat again.
"Oh mija, Pat is welcome to come and go anytime he wants in this house. So you do2need to worry about that." Her Papa said.
She then calmed down. It was great news for her. She was fine with the party and meeting the parents. Although, she thinks that this was such an old fashioned tradition.

"Mama, I need your help." Pat said while he is still in the door or their palace. He was shouting on top of his lungs. He was in a hurry that he did not follow the rules his parents has set. They are not allowed to be loud or shout inside the palace.
"My son, what is the problem? You look distressed." His Mama said. She was wearing a white dress with several layers of fabric. The outermost was made of silk while the under layers were made of cotton. She was around 5" and was considered tall for themselves. Kama-kama are the smallest among the engkantos. Their height range from 4" to 5'10". While most of the engkantos are around the height of 6" and higher.
"Mama where is Papa? We need to go to the land of the humans. My destiny's father has invited us to his house to get to know us. It will happen in the next hour. I don't have time to explain. I will tell you everything when we are travelling there." Pat was panting while saying this. He ran from the gate of their kingdom towards the palace for more than an hour.
"That is a problem. Your Papa has gone off to meet with Iñigo about your mate. He won't be back until supper. Can we reschedule this or maybe it will be fine if me and Juan will join you instead." His Mama thought.
"Mama, I love you! That is a brilliant idea. Let's call Juan to Join us. He might as well look for his destiny outside as he has no luck here." Pat exclaimed with joy. He did not expect for his Mama and Papa to be very supportive of him.
"I will get Juan and then we can go." Pat said to his Mama. He then ran towards his brother's tower.

The party has started as soon as the guest of honor arrived. Pat and his family were seated in the makshift stage along with Edith's family.
