12. Meet the Parents

2020-10-11 16:44:07Patricio, Juan and their Mama are in the gates of the woods. They are ready to step into the human territory when there was someone who called Pat.
"Pat wait, I am coming as well." When they looked back it was his little sister.
"Mama can we bring her as well?" Pat had a worried look on his face. His sister is the most naughty among them. She might ruin his chance to be with his destiny.
"Let her come. We need as much support as we could if we are to present ourselves. Your Papa can't come so might as well bring her with Juan. This way we will show them that you are very serious in courting her as you brought your family with you." His Mama was a wise woman. He nodded and then waited for his little sister.
"Maria you should be at your best behaviour. This is not an adventure. Your elder brother has to prove his sincerity to pursue his destiny. We are just their to support him. Understood?" His Mama asked her.
She just nodded and without wasting much time they proceeded to the gate.

Edith was agitated. Today is the day, Pat will bring his parents in her house. She was pacing back and forth in her room. Trish was with her all this time. Their Mama asked Trish to look out for her sister she was worried about her.
"Trish do you think he will come?" A worried look came from Edith. Her voice was a little hoarse due to the fact that she cried all night. She had the most vivid dream where Pat never came to the party.
"Hermana stop pacing and try to sit please. It won't help you. Yous should prepare already, the party is about to start. You don't want to look stressed when Pat arrives." Trish tries to give her some sense. She was tired as well. All this preparations in a short span of time has made them extra tired. She was helping out her hermana Alex in setting up the backyard and ordering the food needed as her hermana Edith sulks in her room.
"Sorry Trish, I know you have been very supportive and has helped hermana more than me. Thank you niña. I don't know how to repay you." Edith had that worried look plastered on her face. She might be the genius in there family but right now she looks more helpless than when her hermana Alex found about her mates and the duel.
"You don't need to apologize or thank me. We are sisters. That's what sisters do. Now stop worrying and stressing about what might happen later. We will deal with that when it happens. For heavens sake your are the genius in our family. Snap out of it hermana." Trish said with utmost respect for her hermana. She didn't like what she was seeing.
"You are right. I should not be worried for now. Thank you for reminding me. Can you help me with my hair? I will just change my clothes." She asks her sister.
"Si." Trish smiles as she saw a change in her hermana's expression.
"Thanks. Now let's get this show on the road. Shall we?" Edith then went to her room to get her clothes. Their hermana Alex has asked one of the tailor's in town to make a dress for each of them for this occasion in just three days. Thankfully it came already this morning.
The dress was simple. It had two tones of color. The top part was lined with white and yellow clothes. While the bottom half is purely yellow. It looks like a Sunday dress as it covers from shoulder to ankles. It looks pretty actually when you hold it close.
They finished preparing and changing clothes in a few minutes.

"Edith congrats. I heard you found your mate already and he is the guest of honor tonight." Hermana Claudia said. She was holding on her hand her little niña. She was around one year old already. You might think she was Alex's child as she looks like her rather than Miguel or Claudia. But surely, Claudia was her biological mother. The three of them have six kids in total and she doesn't know how they manage it.
"Si, Papa insisted we throw a party for him." Edith replies and sat beside her.
"So how is this niña? She seems so angelic when she's asleep." Edith quips. Claudia laughs at her comment.
"Oh you don't know how hard to keep her asleep. She will wake up when she feels that she is in her bed rather than my arms. Such a spoiled kid already." Clauds complains to her.
"When they are so cute then even I could not resist holding her when asleep. Let me know if you need help with her. I am willing to be her nanny for a while." Edith says.
"Edith, Papa has called you. They have arrived already. Let's meet them in front of the house." Her hermana Alex called her.
She stood up and ran towards Alex. They then hurriedly walk towards the house and into the sala.
"Señor, Señora this is my family. Mama, Juan my elder brother and Maria my younger sister." Pat pointed to each one of them and introducing them to Edith's Papa and Mama.
"It is nice to finally meet you." His Mama stretches her hand towards them to shake.
"We are glad to have you in our house. My name is Vicente and this is my wife Rosalinda. This is our eldest, Alex then Edith and my youngest Trish." Her Papa replied while he took her hands to shake.
"Nice to meet you. You may call me by my name. My name is Patricia." She then smiles to everyone.
"Let's continue this conversation in our backyard. We have prepared a simple party in your honor." Alex told us. She was using her alpha tone and everyone followed her with no questions asks.

The party has started as soon as the guest of honor arrived. Pat and his family were seated in the makshift stage along with Edith's family. A simple feast as it seems but Alex and Trish had prepared an entertainment of sorts."Tonight, we will introduce to you our very own dancers. They will be perfoming the tinikling. Please welcome our dancers and give them a round of applause." Alex stood in the fance floor while announcing this. Edith was shocked to see that her little sister along with her classmates are dressed in a Filipiñana while the boys who were from this pack and the same age were wearing barong and pants.
