14. Horseback Riding

Edith hears the thump of the feet of the horse in the ground. She was sitting at the back of their house. It was a sunny afternoon and she did not want to work inside her office where it was cramped and hot. 

"My love, what are doing here? Why aren't you inside the house?" Pat asks her. He had a worriod look in his face. How can she tolerate the heat hear? He thought. 

"Pat, you came. I thought you weren't going to show up." Edith replied with a smile on her face. She suddenly felt happy when she saw him. 

"Are you busy right now?" Pat asked and scratched his head. 

"Yeah, I am actually free. This can wait until later in the evening. So where are we going this afternoon?" Edith asks. 

"Were going horseback riding." Pat happily replied. 

"Are you serious? I haven't done that lately." Edith was excited. She has been planning to do that for a while now. 

"Yes my lady. I hope you won't mind riding with me?" Pat gave her a heads. "No I don't mind at all. Please wait here. I just need to bring this back to my office and then we can ask someone to accompany us." Edith then grabs the documents scattered in the grass. She was busy reviewing the documents pertaining to their businesses. She has been helping her hermana organize their businesses into one big company. 

"Do you need help with those? I can show you a trick. If you won't mind." Pat had a sly smile. He wants to show her what he really is today. So this would be something he thinks will warm her to the idea. 

"Okay, I am curious. Can you do it?" Edith asks. Pat gladly took the papers from her hand and then he snapped his fingers. After a blink of an eye the documents were gone from his hands and there was a nut of gold in his hand. 

Edith's jaw dropped at the site of the gold nugget. She did not think this is real. She stretched her hand to touch the gold. At first she was hesitant but Pat nodded. She then touched it. It was still warm to the touch. "How?" Was all Edith could say. Her eyes was full of questions. 

"I am a kama-kama. A prince to be precise." Pat introduced himself. She then held her hand to him.

"That is great. I thought you were a human that is why I haven't felt the sparks before. But I guess it make sense now. Oh, I have a lot of questions for you. But first, where did the documents go? I really need them to be secured in my office." Edith wondered. She fell more in love with him. 

"I brought them to your desk in the office. I can do those things and more. Although, I need to concentrate with regards to other things that are not made from the ground." He explained. He was proud of himself. He thought Edith would runaway but no, she adored him even more. 

'Will she accept me when she sees my true self?' That was the thought that was bugging him. 

"Can we check them their? I just need to make sure or else my hermana will kill me. Those are proofs that we own businesses." Edith's face changed from a happy demeanor to a worried one. 

"Sure my lady. Anything for you." Pat the holds her hand and they went inside the house. Her office was near the library in the second floor. Usually it should be in the third floor near her room but she asked her hermana to transfer it. It is smaller than the previous office of her Tiyo Lucerio but she was happy about it. 

"Edith where are you going?" Clauds suddenly asks her. She was coming from the kitchen. 

"Hi hermana, we are just going up to my office to check the documents I brought with me earlier. Will you accompany us?" She shyly asks her. She was like a child caught eating to much pandesal than she has too. 

"Si, vamonos. I will be following you." Clauds replied to them. She was smiling as they look cute together. 

"Thanks hermana, I owe you a favor." Edith looked back and smiled to her. The three of them were in the office. It looks more cramped than before since there were three of them. Usually it's just her and Trish inside. 

"So is everything there?" Pat asks her. "Si" Edith replies.

"Huh? What did you mean my lady?" Pat was confused. He was not familiar with the term. 

"I am sorry. I mean yes everything is there. Thank you." Edith then kisses his cheeks. This made both of them blush with her sudden reaction. 

Clauds coughs a little to loud to break the tension between them. "My work here is done. Shall we go down to the sala? I will have one of the warriors accompany you." She told them.

"Actually, Pat here asked me to go horseback riding. Will you join us? I don't want any of our warriors to come especially not Trish. Please hermana. I will do anything you will ask of me." Edith offered her something she won't be able to resist. 

"You are very lucky I have finished my tasks as luna already. Let me inform Mi amor and Mi querida about this okay. So they will look after the kids." Clauds agreed to her and after a few minutes of mind liink she was done. 

"I have already asked for the omegas to bring us the horses. Pat did you bring your own horse?" Clauds asks him. This was the first he will converse with her and he did not know how to address her. 

"Yes, I brought my own horse Lady Clauds." He replied. Claudia and Edith then bursts out laughing. Pat just stood there puzzled what they were laughing at. 

"Oh Pat, you may call me hermana Clauds. No need for you to call me lady. I am not one. (she giggles) I hope you wont be offended." Clauds was still laughing in between the words. Pat barely understood her. He just nodded and scratched his head. He could never understand their reaction. He did not see anything funny with what he said. 

The three of them were standing in front of the pack house and the horses were brought to them. There were only two horses. One for Claudia and another for Pat and Edith. Pat asked Claudia for permission to have Edith ride with him. 

"Here they are. Ladies first." Pat said to them. He helped Claudia up her horse first. Then he went back to check if the straps of the saddle was tight already. When he was satisfied with the straps, he came back to Edith's side to help her ride the horse. When she was comfortably seated he took a chair to help himself up. 

They tried to warm up the horses first. He intended to bring her to their house but with Claudia with them he could not do that. Iñigo might not allow her and Edith yet. He has to talk with his father first about this. 

"Pat, how did you learn horseback riding?" Edith asks him. 

"My brothers taught me while I was still a kid. They said it will be favorable for me in the future. I guess that day has come." Pat said. 

"Oh, so you have a lot of horses in your place?" Edith asks again. She was curious as he was really good at instructing the horse. Never did the horse complained from him. 

"Not really we have enough. I wanted to ask you, will you come with me in my house? I want you to meet the rest of my family. I have already met your family and I would be happy if you would meet mine as well." Pat was nervous. His hands were shaking at the idea. He did not know Edith that much yet. She might not trust him and won't come with him.
