Chapter Four: The wolf sees the pack

     I looked at the male driving the silver car that I had gotten in with Elena, he looked like he was Elena's age and had warm brown eyes with a mop of brown hair. Elena had said his name was Alex, and that he was my teacher for self defense and martial arts training. I rolled my eyes at that but agreed, besides Alex looked like he and I would be friends soon enough. 

       I yawned and asked Elena "How long until we get to the pack?" Elena smiled and said " Well, it is really remote and in the middle of nowhere so about two hours." Alex was driving over all the holes but it slowly made me feel more tired until I fell asleep in the car, Nova quiet for once since she showed herself to me. I dreamed of a woman in white who was talking to me,  saying "Ava, my beautiful child, I need to tell you that you carry a great gift as the white wolf. You will have one power that will reveal itself when you met your soulmate. The power could be as simple as regeneration powers better than any wolf to wind powers or even fire powers." 

              The woman in white faded slowly as I was shaken awake by Elena, who was calling my name. I blinked slowly trying to clear the sleep from my eyes, as I started streching trying to get more awake. I look around the car for my suitcase, and I jump back in suprise when I see a face smushed on the other side of the window. I growl and try to find my suitcase in the dark when I hit the suitcase in the dark. Annoyed at not finding it for five minutes, I grab my suitcase and exit the car. 

              I look around at the massive trees towering above me, their green canpoy right above me, the stars twinkling above making it even prettier to stare at. I was staring at the trees as I was trying to walk on uneven grass, the smell of the grass making me feel more at peace. I kept looking at the sky and walking until I trip and fall my suitcase scattering around the grass. I turn a bright red in embarrassment as I start picking up my under garments and shove them into my suitcase.

         I was zipping the suitcase closed when a voice from right behind me started saying "Who are you? You don't smell like the pack, but you do smell like a human. Are you an intruder?" I turned around to face the voice and see a male same height as me, with tan skin, brown hair, black glasses and dark grey blue eyes. I try to keep my face neutral when I reply with " I came her with Elena, my birth mom, she took me here to learn to be a werewolf." The guy scoffed at me and started laughing like I told a joke, he took a deep breath before saying "Haha, good joke, human, Queen Elena does not have kids. You must be a hunter since you know Queen Elena's name." I frown and ask "What is a hunter?" He looks at me with a stern, hard gaze as he replies "A human who hunts werewolves, and I can assure you that playing dumb will get you no where. You are coming with me to the torture chamber until you tell us who you actually are." 

                  I gulp and start shaking, freaking out as  I try to wake Nova up in my head "Nova wake up I am in danger." I say hurridedly scared of what the guy will do to me. Nova woke with a growl, and as she looked through my memories, she says "Howl to catch Elena's attention" The guy grabs me and I let out a howl, hoping to get Elena's attention but instead of working it backfires and brings more people outside. I give up when Alex who drive Elena and me here sees me. Alex starts talking " Sebastian, let her go she came with Queen Elena." The guy, who I am assuming is Sebastian, replies "She was wandering outside, with the smell of human on her, what else was I supposed to assume. I certainly hope she came with Queen Elena, because if you are telling a lie it will be your head. Now until Queen Elena tells me who she is and if she came with her to our pack, she is going to the dungeons." 

            Alex growls, but he nods and says " Fine, go ahead, but it will be you getting in trouble." Alex walks away from the situation as I am still getting dragged away by Sebastian, to the dungeons. I whimper as he throws me in the cell literally, Nova calling him every swear word in the book, as I pick myself off the concrete. Sebastian sneers at me and says "If Queen Elena doesn't get you within 3 hours, I will be taking Alex and you to the torture chamber for conspiracy against the Queen." 

               I growl at him, and lunge at him, the silver metal bars stopping me, as they burn my skin and I wince in pain. I look around my cell, that is now my home for the next few hours, the gloomy grey concrete, silver bars, and a hard bench next to a toliet which smells rancid. I gloomily sit on the bench, and start talking to Nova "Did he really not smell my wolf? And why does he get to decide what happens to me?" Nova replies "You only shifted once since you changed, the only people who can pick up on your scent is Elena, family and your soulmate. Sebastian gets to decide what happens to you because he is an enforcer, which means he is the protector of the pack. There are two more besides him, and what he decided was a lighter sentence than what the other two would have done." 

                I nod forgetting for a second that she was in my head and decide to get some sleep while I wait for Elena to collaborate Alex's story. I gingerly lay on the hard, wooden bench, with nothing covering it, and try to fall asleep again. I try my hardest to sleep in human form but it was freezing cold in the dress Elena gave me so I start shifting into my wolf, to keep myself warm. I hear my bones snapping and creaking to rearrange into my wolf shape, the pain not even as bad as when I shifted earlier. I curl up on the hard bench again and finally fall asleep, Nova keeping awake in my head in case of an emergency. 

                I dream of a man in my dream who scares me for some reason unknown to me, his shadow towered over me, his voice sounding melodic but the words he said scared me more " Kill them all." I was so scared I started shaking, as the dream covered in pitch black except where his shadow was, but I could hear his foot steps clacking on what sounds like wood floors, the sound getting closer and closer. My heart starts pounding harder and harder as the foot steps stop but the door handle starts creaking as it slowly gets opened. "Ava, wake up, I'm here to lead you to your room."  A female voice cuts through my dreams as I startle awake and I open my eyes to see Elena standing in front of me. 

                 I jump down from the bench, still in wolf form, and strech, as Elena speaks " I am so sorry, Ava, for not staying with you when you were getting out of the car. I was called away on business, trying to prepare for you joining the pack and a ball to introduce you to all the werewolves as my daughter and my heir." I try to nod as I am still in wolf form. I follow Elena from the dungeons to my room, the inside of the dungeons look more silvery than a solid color, and as we stepped outside, I swore I could hear Sebastian's voice inside the building. I walked behind Elena as we passed several small houses, until we stopped at a two story brown brick house, with several people standing outside of it. 

                Elena nods at the people and opens the front door for me, and as I walk in I hear the people outside talking to Elena "Is that wolf with you, Queen Elena?" I growl and turn around to glare at the guard as Elena steps in front of me " Yes, she is my daughter, protect her as you would me. None of this is to get out until she is introduced in a few days." Elena says confidently, as I look around the house. I see a living room with wooden floors, right when I entered the front door, a red couch in there, along with a tv stand, a 40 inch tv and a coffee table worn with scratches. I look to my right and see some bedrooms down a hall along with a small bathroom inbetween the two bedrooms.

                 The green walls are a pale green, with some picture frames on the walls, a stairway in front of me leading me to believe that there was more rooms upstairs. I walk up to Elena and nudge her with my wolf head too tired to keep exploring. Elena looks down to me and says " You can choose any room downstairs, I have the whole upstairs as my own apartment." I nod my wolf head and walk past the stairs to see a kitchen to the right of me with white walls and a bedroom to the left of me. I walk on the white tiles in front of a wooden kitchen table towards the room in front of the kitchen and paw at the door to tell Elena I want this room. 

         Elena opens the door to reveal the wooden floor with a twin size mattress inside and a green dresser. A black window sill and a window to show the other rooms in the house showed how much bigger this house was inside compared to the outside of it. I jumped on the bed as Elena says "I will have someone bring your suitcase inside, and just to let you know Alex is living with me and so is my parents. Alex lives in the room downstairs next to the bathroom, and my parents live in the rooms next to you." I nod and just let out a wolfy yawn as Elena smiles at me as she shuts the door. I shift back and crawl under the black quilt, too tired to care about brudhing my teeth or showering. 

               I fall asleep to a dream of living in a cabin and having a small cat on my lap, an unknown stranger outside singing, but instead of that man in my last dream this voice comforts me, soothes me and makes me smile. The orange and white cat in my lap purring as I pet its tiny head, a small girl running past me and yelling "Mama, Mama look at me." I look at her and am startled by how much she looks like me except for her deep blue eye color which makes me wonder who her father is. I slowly wake up by the sounds of someone outside my door, and voices ad I slowly wake up. I get up and yawn, streching while looking around me. My suitcase is sitting on the dresser, so I get up and start putting my stuff away in the proper places. I get ready for the day and throw on a green tshirt with blue jeans, not really caring about my looks currently. 

         I take a deep breathe and go out of my room to the kitchen and go in the kitchen to make myself breakfast. The kitchen has so many appliances that are new like the coffee pot and an air fryer. I grabbed a white bowl and a spoon after looking in all the drawers in the kitchen. I go in to the refrigerator and grab milk for my cereal that I found in the cabniet next to bowls. My first day with werewolves what could go wrong.
