I woke up to the wolf that was my birth mom standing above her, looking down at me, the green eyes flashing between green and a bright yellow. I slowly sat up and groaned while looking around me, the room slightly spinning, my head pounding from hitting the ground like a sack of potatoes, the smell of coffee making my mouth water. I scrambled to my feet, my headache going away as I get to my feet, I start calling out for my parents "Mom, Dad, where are you in the house?" My voice cracks at the end from my dry mouth, I started walking to the kitchen, the walls still slightly spinning as I walk there, the sound of the coffee machine making coffee with a small hiss makes my mouth water more.
The wolf that is Elena trails behind me like a shadow as I finally make it to the kitchen, the yellow walls bright and cheery, bringing baco feelings of nostalgia. I could almost remember it like yesterday when Mom and Dad decided to paint the kitchen yellow, much to Dad's disgust as he wanted grey or black. I smile to myself as I grab a blue coffee mug from the cabinets nailed to the ceiling, the coffee wafting to my nose as my stomach growls.
I look down at Elena and ask politely "Hey Elena, do you want some coffee and a bite to eat?" Her wolf head starts shaking up and down like a human, as she starts slowly changing back to a human. I look away and pretend it is not happening, her horrific shape changing powers grossing me out. Once I stop hearing bones breaking, I grab Elena a green cup for coffee and pour the dark roast coffee into her cup, the steam rising up from the cup. I pour some in mine and take a sip before I look Elena in the eye and ask "What food does a wolf like eating and do you know where my parent's are?"
Elena sighs and narrows her eyes at me before replying in a disinterested tone "You are a princess, you do not have to cook for me or yourself. I can easily just talk to my pack about bringing food to us. Wolves will eat anything after they work up an appetite and especially after shifting because we lose a lot of energy during a shift. Tonight is going to be your first shift after so long so you need to eat a lot more protiens then you normally would, especially since you will be joining a pack and you are going to meet your wolf. Your parents went to the store to grab a few food things for your last party here and to figure out how to tell you good bye for a while." She explains all this information to me as I slowly try to process it before taking another sip of coffee while jumping up to sit on my parents counter top. I look at Elena with a confused look on my face, as I ask "What do you mean good bye for a while? I live here, I am not leaving them for a while until I am at least fincially able to pay for my own place." My eyes start flashing yellow while I talk, my upset emotions showing on the outside, while Elena just stands there staring at me in annoyance as she replies "You have to move in on pack land, as it offers you more protection and a place to learn to control your emotions along with your wolf. Wolves usually learn at a young age to control their wolves and emotions those that do not turn volatile along with being a physcopath." She grimances at that last part as I glare at her and growl out my response "You were gone for almost 18 years and now you think you have a right to tell me where or how to live?" She lets out a snarl at my growl and spits out "I am your birth mother along with being the queen of werewolves and you have no right to talk to me like that."
I growl again, my eyes fully yellow as I slam my coffee cup down too hard and shatter it into a thousand peices, the sound of breaking glass is loud in my ears, breaking my rising anger. I look down in embarrassment and grumble out "Whatever" I walk towarda the trash cabniet where my parents have kept the trash since before I have been here, grabbing the small broom in the cabniet. At that moment my mom and dad walk in to seeing me sweeping up the glass, and staft fretting over me, mom talks first "Sweet Pea, what happened here and why does Elena and you have yellow eyes?" Dad and mom both look at me as I reply with a curt "Elena and I got in a small arugment, its nothing major. I just dropped a coffee cup, with nothing in it, I am so sorry mom. I will clean it up, and you guys don't have to worry about it. I am sorry Elena." I keep my eyes down, my anger still a little high as I sweep up the glass peices and threw them away as my mom starts to prepare for my party.
My dad just keeps sternly looking at the coffee cup peices before asking "Did Elena tell you that you will be moving with her to where the werewolves are?" I nod and look down trying to control my temper more, as my parents share a look before they both seem to speak simultaneously "Honey, you know we love you very much, and we want you to know that no matter where you are or who you are with, you are still our kid." I nod and hug them both as Elena slurps coffee in the background, her foot tapping impatiently.
I look at my mom and say "Mom, Dad, I know I'm supposed to have a party but I really just want to have a quiet night with you before I leave." I put on my best puppy dog look and mom finally agrees and says "Fine, but you have to start packing now, Hon." I grin, and nod my head before giving them both hugs as Elena starts speaking " You have until you shift, to be packed and ready because we have to leave right away. Other bad wolves will be able to smell your scent a lot better and we will both be prime targets for kidnapping or killing." I gulp and nod before I scurry off to my room, grabbing my black suitcase to throw my stuff in. I pack some variety of clothes for different weathers, some shoes, some bath items and put some of my most valuable possessions in there. I put my family photo in there, a sketch book from my dad and my family heirloom necklace from my mom in my suitcase. I looked around my room to make sure I got everything before taking a deep breath and descending downstairs nervously awaiting for my shift.
I looked at the male driving the silver car that I had gotten in with Elena, he looked like he was Elena's age and had warm brown eyes with a mop of brown hair. Elena had said his name was Alex, and that he was my teacher for self defense and martial arts training. I rolled my eyes at that but agreed, besides Alex looked like he and I would be friends soon enough. I yawned and asked Elena "How long until we get to the pack?" Elena smiled and said " Well, it is really remote and in the middle of nowhere so about two hours." Alex was driving over all the holes but it slowly made me feel more tired until I fell asleep in the car, Nova quiet for once since she showed herself to me. I dreamed of a woman in white who was talking to me, saying "Ava, my beautiful child, I need to tell you that you carry a great gift as the white wolf. You will have one power that will reveal itself when you met your soulmate. The power could
I took my suitcase and put it downstairs next to the front door, and nervously started pacing around, unsure of what will happen after I shift. I was deep in thought when mom called out "Honey, I made some dinner, If you want anything." I smiled and walked happily towards the kitchen the smell of steak making my stomach growl more urgently. I looked around the kitchen and saw she had made my favorite steak dinner with steak marinade on the steak with cheesy mashed potatoes, and some green beans that smelled divine. I kissed my mom in the cheek and hugged her tightly, my voice sounding a little thick with emotions as I spoke "Thank you so much mom. I love you and dad very much." My dad moved in closer and hugged us both before they both said "We love you too so much kiddo." My chest tightened as I tried not to cry, I turned away and started to grab a plate for dinner, accidentally bumping into Elena on my grab for a plate. I start to say " I

I sighed impatiently waiting for a taxi to pick me up from work. I looked at my older samsung phone to check the time before looking around me, the beautiful blue sky in the spring was a sight to stare at and the birds were chirping loudly. This would be the second time I was late to a birthday party, last time it was my dad's birthday party and this year it was going to be me being late again. I didn't want to be late to my own birthday party this year, even though I knew my parents would be ok if I was late. I tapped my right black heel distractedly, as I contemplated just running home as it was only a few miles away when the yellow taxi finally arrived. The middle aged, balding taxi driver looks at me through the rear view mirror and asked me "Are you going home from your work?" I nod my head, my black hair starting to fall down from it's bun before plastering a fake smile on my face feeling uncomfortable with th
17 years ago: Mike and his wife were driving home after coming back from Mike's mother's house after christmas day. Mike is driving really slowly due to the snow and icy conditions on the roads when his wife, Eve screams in horror "Mike stop the car now!" Mike slammed on the brakes worried, the car skidding to a stop, smoke rising up from the tires. "What is wrong? Are you feeling ok, Eve?" Mike asks worriedly while looking at Eve. She just points out into the snowstorm and replies with "I think there is an animal in the middle of the road, babe." Mike gets up and grabs the black flashlight from the backseat from his job as a janitor at the local high school. Mike slowly walks outside and walks in front of the beat up tan Nissan, the haunting forest ahead. A small trail can barely be seen where there are two towering trees above Mike. The silence
