Woah! This is my first time in this class and i can say it is quite small compared to the lt 1 but has neatly stacked chairs and desks...

I walk down to the mid row closer to the front to have a seat.

theres a 

guy wearing a short sleeved t-shirt.

"Good morning" 

"Heyy"he gives a smile. This one looks responsible as first impression

I point to the bag on the seat beside him raising my brow cuely "ohh you can sit there" he says sheepishly as he removes his bag and I uplift my lips end to end as much as I can muster.

"Simeon...bch year one student"

"Renee..and of course bch year one student"i respond

A group of students soon enter the class discussing something in their barbaric tone...and before we know it other students soon walk into the class and the class is nearly filled up.

It doesn't take too long before a short plump bald man...walks into the class with nothing but his phone and a board marker

"Heys!"He calls at attention

the whole class suddenly grows silent at the moment 

"Good morning to you too!" He utters aggressively

The lecturer for today's class obviously, no one could muster such confidence at a whole class

"Good morning sir,"the class responds quickly in unison. 

He glances sternly at the whole class from end to end

"you!.."he points at a young guy at the end row by the left side of the class

Three hours later, I rise up to stretch my arms and yawn deeply showing how fatigue I was.

"Heyy, they just informed us on the group chat that we're having microbiology just immediately after philosophy class in the lt 1" Simeon tells me as he's scrolling through his phone

I didnt cone online this morning so I wouldnt know

I quickly shove my book into my hand bag, ignoring how tired I was and we both hurry to secure a seat in the lt1...you know since this course is one of the general studies.

   

 

We're seated on our seat for the next thirty minutes and there's still no lecturer or sign of his/her arrival.

"I think we should leave here in ten minutes time, if they dont show up"i turn to Simeon.

"Yea...because we need to pick a comfortable seat for microbiology class" he agrees before our colleagues rush over there

The classes are finally over after how many hours.

  

I exchange phone contact with Simeon and head for hostel. My legs feel so heavy and weak as i walk back to my room. I make a stop at the buka in the hostel to order for food.

 

The queue is moving fast so I just join and really i cant wait to buy my food. I make order for take away plastic of 

spaghetti and grilled chicken with salad.

 Getting to the room..I shove my food down my throat like someone who's been fasting in the wilderness. 

  

 I dont even remember the time i finished my chicken.

Danielle and paulette are in the kitchen preparing food.

Priscy and IT are not still back.

I'd think about that later...right now i have to answer to the call of my bed..and thats how i drift off to my village in my dreams.

My gloomy ringtone goes on.

It's too early in the morning to be getting calls, how disrespectful.

My subconscious drifts to home. Hope all is good. I bounce up and quickly pick the call with my blurry vision.

"Hello.."

Sound of high intense music greets me instantly "Renee...where are you..you not coming anymore..what's wrong...are you okayy?"

I groan loudly!

"Violet?!" Just to be sure

"Yes...?"

"Come for what? I dont get you" i ask subtly

"Priscy's birthday!"

Oh shit! What was i thinking...I quickly remove the phone from my ear to check the time, 7.16pm.

My eyes wide open...it all comes back to me, Priscy really wanted me present how could I have forgotten...I drop the phone off on my bed and hurry outside.

Now how do I do this...how do I tell Priscy I cant come over this late...the sky is dark and winking at me indifferently with its glittering stars.

"Heyy...Violet" 

"Yes...whatsup with you girl?" She asks obviously worried ..her voice tone was easily detectable

"I'm fine..i mean I'm good..." i stammer trying to clear the air

"I do—n—ont 

think i ca-n make it..."i stammer

"Heyy whyy?"

"It's so late...and i cant walk alone plus i dont even know how it'll sound to Priscy...i feel dreaded right now..." i continue

"Heyy..heyy... listen to me...nothing's going to happen to you...if worse comes to worse just order for taxify down to jokers..if you feel safer that way..okayy? Dont miss this for anything...it'll be unforgivable if you do"

I have no word

"Not to worry much, I'm going outside to wait for you"she says and ends the call.

"Reneee..."i call out my name to myself 

Ok..ok...I've got this

My subconscious reminds me of when i was little and my mum asked me to go and bring the lantern from our house at the balcony..it was really late but i dont know how i mustered courage to go down there..ohh i think i just put on an indifferent face and kept on repeating the lord's prayer in my mind...yes! That was my saving grace.

Same technique I'd use for tonight.

I thank my subconscious mentally, she really does know me more than i know myself.

I pick up my phone and try to charter the closest taxify...he's just tweleve minutes distant from my hostel..

Shit! I hurriedly take a cold shower and get dressed.. afterwards i apply a light foundation and lipgloss then put on my pair of white socks and white sneakers.

 By now I'm dressed up in my pink crop hoddie.. a black tube underneath, a Scottish material flair miniskirt.

My hair is still ok just the edges flying out, so i brush it back up to style and pick up my phone and tote bag..with my atm card.
