Xavier's POV.

    Stunning. That was one word i had for her,  but she came at the wrong time. Yesterday i was still trying to avoid the dinner and i came in late and excused my self. I was only agreeing to all this because of the respect and love  i had  for my father. And the fact that he was dying few months later was making me sad.

"She's not that bad!!" Marya said when we sat in the restaurant. I nod and she placed her bag on the table.

"Yes,  i know!!" I said and she looked at me.

"So....,  what do you want to do?" She asked me.

"Go on with the preparations,  when my dad dies,  end ties with her and marry you!!" I winked and she laughed.

"So funny!!" She said. If only she knew......, if only she knew how much i liked her. Marya Norman is the dumbest girl ever. She was the first person to talk to me in middle school. The only one who wasn't friends with me because  of me being a prince. And i liked her. A lot,  but she doesn't know which is so frustrating. I've always tried to tell her but she always declined 'us'.

"I'm serious though!!" I said. And she smiled.

"Lets order okay?" She said and i nod.

"Yeah i don't have an appetite!!" I told her.

"Okay, you wanna see my new books?" She asked. My phone buzzed.

"Excuse me!!" I said and took my phone out.

    Xavier,  I'm gonna  be  at your house

                      - Derek.

I smiled and  looked at Marya.

"Hey,  your ex is gonna  show up!!" I said and stood up.

"Derek?" She asked.

"Yeah!!" I replied and  stood up.

"Okay,  I'll just be home  then!!" She said.

"I thought you said you were over  him?" I asked her.

"I am. I'm not just in a good mood to see him!!" She said and i nod.

"I understand. I'll see you later Marya!!" I said and i hugged her before walking out.

"Hey man!!" Derek said as we bro hugged and sat on the couch. I clapped and a maid came in.

"An orange juice please and wine for me!!" I said and she left bowing.

"Wine hnn? What's the occasion?" He asked me.

"Marriage. That's the occasion!! I have to marry a  girl i don't even know!!" I replied him.

"Then get to know her then. I mean,  you're not getting married next week!!" He said. I looked at him.

"You can't understand!!" I told him.

"Tell me about it!!" He said,  the maid dropped the juice and wine.

"She's......,  she has a very different vibe from the one I'm used to." I said and he laughed.

"That is because you haven't seen anyone except from Marya treat you like you're equal!!" He said.

"I don't care about that. It's not about that!!" I told him.

"Then what is it?" He asked.

"I like someone else okay!!" I said.

"Marya right?" He asked. I looked at him and  sighed.

"Is it that obvious?" I asked him.

"Yeah actually. One  can see  the chemistry between you two!!" He said.

"I'm sorry man,  i didn't want to....."

"Hey,  its okay!! She's my ex and i don't really care." He said and we heard footsteps.

"Yeah,  its just....."

"Wow!!" I heard him say. I know that wow from Derek!! That means he was amazed by something,  someone,  a woman specifically. I sighed. I knew it was her. Charlotte Gallagher.

Charlotte's POV.

        Priscilla called. She is coming next week friday and I'm so excited!! Finally someone to talk with. I was reading the novel i had at hand when my phone buzzed.

I tapped on that and dropped the novel sitting up.

Video commences;

"How do you feel?"

"I feel good. I feel happy helping less privileged people. When i have the money,  why not use  it wisely. I mean,  its as alright to use all your salary for charity!!" She said.

"Oh my God,  you used all your salary for charity?" 

"Yes i did,  and I'm happy to!!"

"So what is  your advise to other people out there...."

"Help people. Help humanity. If you know you are capable, why don't you help? But I trust Charlotte though. She's into charity,  she doesn't spend her money on clothes most especially wine...., "

I stopped the video,  shes so insane. What i do with my money is no business of hers!! I sighed and went down. I need some wine. I went down the stairs,  and met my 'fiance',  note the sarcasm and his very handsome friend. He had a nice blonde hair and blue exciting eyes which was  exciting. I smiled and he smiled at me too.

"Hi!!" I said and he  stood up.

"Hi, my name is Derek!!" He said giving me his hand.

"Charlotte!!" I said and shaked his hands.

"Xavier's best friend!!" He said. I nod and he gave Xavier an eye which made mister grumpy stand up too.

"Yeah,  that's Derek...,  his father is the general!!" He explained. Oh,  that explains the aura.

"Lovely,  nice to meet you!!" I said.

"Nice to meet you too. You are beautiful!!" He said and  kissed the back of my hand.

"Charming aren't we?" I asked and we laughed.

"Well,  if you would please excuse me....,  i have to get something to drink!!" I said.

"Oh,  no problem. Believe me,  just clap and your wishes will come right away!!" Derek said.

"Thanks,  but i don't think  'his royal highness' would love me to be around. He made that so clear to me and i would want him to understand that i don't also care!!" I said sarcastically.

"I didn't say i didn't want you around!" His voice made his presence shown and i turned.

"Excuse me,  did you just say that?" I asked.

"Look, i don't know what's going on in that mind of yours but listen to me, i don't give a  fuck!!" I said and turned to Derek giving him a beautiful smile.

"Excuse me!!" I said and turned to Xavier.

"Your highness!!"

And walked out. Courtney was a bitch,  and he was a  jerk. I mean,  the two of them need to meet. They really need to!!

"Uhmm,  Miss,  what can i do for you?" A maid came.

"Oh thanks,  i need a wine,  and a wine glass like right now." I said.

"Wait,  uhmm,  I'll be  in the gazebo so come gimme there okay? You're a  lifesaver!!" I said and left.

Xavier's POV.

      That was,  i don't know,  epic!! She just walked out like that making me feel like a  fool and Derek wasn't making it any better,  he was here laughing like a maniac.

"Stop it!!" I said and he continued.

"That girl. What did you do?" He asked me.

"Nothing. Well,  she did see Marya and i in the library this morning and i kinda told her that she wasn't my fiancee!! It was  the truth though!!" I said.

"Man,  you were an ass!! Why would you say that?" He asked.

"I don't know. Maybe because i don't want her to be my finacee!!" I said.

"No matter what,  you were a jerk. You should apologize to her!! Moreover, she's hot man!!" He said.

"Yeah....,  she's sexy!!" I said. I mean,  her curves,  and the way she walks was a turn on but.....,  i think i am into nerds. Marya's a pretty nerd anyway.

"Yeah,  shes blessed. Now that woman,  that woman needs a man that will treat her right!!" He said.

"Yeah i guess. Emotionally!!" I said cause that girl needs to chill.

"And physically too!!" He said,  i raised my eyebrows and he nod.

"What?"

"That's my fiancee you're talking about man!!" I said jokingly.

"Excuse me,  you just said seconds ago,  that you didn't want her to be  your fiancee. And I'm ready!!" He said. I laughed. Derek was so not the 'committed' type. He was a  one night stand,  fling kind of person and that made me laugh.

"Yeah,  duh!!" I said.

"But you should really work on your marriage. I mean,  its now or never!! You're gonna marry her whether you like it or not,  you might not have the best marriage but you can have a  happy one. I mean, Marya doesn't want to be yours and  you know. Many girls out there isn't really into you but because of your title,  so why don't you give her a  chance? I mean, maybe you can like her before the wedding?" He asked me.

"Like? Her? You mean that girl?" I asked.

"Yeah!!"

"I mean,  i won't lie she turns me on and their are some certain things i wanna do to her,  i won't lie. Cause  God I'm a man and she's hot!!....."

"I concur!!" Derek said.

"..., but she dosen't look like the good wifey type!!" I said.

"And you didn't look like the cool guy you were  when i first met you twenty years ago!!" He said. And yeah,  Derek and i came way back,  my dad was installed as king when i was  seven when Grandfather died and i met Derek on my dad's coronation,  but..., we didn't click so well,  but one day we just started being friends and liked each other.

"Nineteen!!" I said.

"Twenty!!"

"Nineteen!!"

"You're gonna  be twenty-eight in few months!!" He said.

"I'm still twenty seven wanna be  young forever Derek. Don't ruin my dreams!!" I said.

"Yeah whatever. I'm Twenty seven!!" He said.

"Twenty six!!"

"Dude!!"

"Sorry!!"

And we laughed,  i sipped my wine.

"What you said was true though......,  i should get to know her,  maybe she will like me in the process!!" I said.

"You mean,  you like her?" He asked.

"Bet on it!!" I said.

"Oh i do!! Plus,  tell me how good she is in bed  k?" He said.

"You're sick!!" I told him.

"That's why you love  me!!" He said and stood up.

"You wish!!" I said and  he chuckled. He  finished  his juice on one gulp.

"Going already?" I asked him.

"Sure!! Gotta not disappoint the ladies at the bar!!" He said.

"Sure!!" I said. We fist bump and hugged.

"Yeah man,  see you,  don't forget what i told you!!" He told me grabbing his phone.

"Yeah yeah whatever!!" I said and he walked.

"Later. Don't miss me too much!!"

"I'll try not to fat ass!!"

"Nice ass!!"

"Jealous!!"

"You wish!!"

"Hey!!"

"Sorry. Bai!!"

I laughed as i sighed.

"Bye!!" I muttered. I turned and sighed. I should really stop being a jerk towards her and be nice. Besides,  we have a ball tomorrow,  and she must not mess things up!! I walked towards the door and the door to the lawn. I walked past the gardens and saw the gazebo. She was  there,  with a a bottle of wine and on a call.

"...,  no she has to stop making mean comments about me........,  i don't care!!......,  I'm not mad i just think she should respect herself so her whole career won't be ruined when I'm done thrashing her shameless,  troublesome face in my pool!!"

Whoa,  that was intense,  i touched my face,  hell i should think twice before going up to her!!

"..., Joshua,  Joshua. Just warn her and that tongue of hers cause i won't think twice before talking sense to her brain!!"  She said.

".....,  no Joshua!! Joshua!! I'm not gonna talk to her!! Cause if i do,  she's gonna cry and ask  why she ever  lived in the first fucking place!!".

Wow!!.

"..,  you know what,  I'm gonna talk to her,  and she's gonna cry,  she's gonna report to her beloved fans  on IG,  people's gonna talk about it,  talk about it,  and  another topic comes and they'll forget about it............,  Joshua since when I've i cared  about my image? Its already bad so what? My fans would love me  no matter what!! They should be  used to that now though!! I'm not a model that cares about what people might say!! I do what i want like i fucking did when i wasn't popular and didn't have people to watch over  me!! I don't live for them.......,  thanks for knowing......,  so what? So fucking what? I don't talk about her. Hell,  i don't even care about her!! So let her be on her lane,  and i be at mines,  is that to much to fucking ask?" She asked.

She looked at me and she frowned. That was so intense man.

"Shut up Josh. I said shut up!! I'll call you later okaay!! I have someone to attend to. I can't ignore his royal majesty!!"  She said.

Gosh,  she's so sarcastic. She dropped her phone and picked up her wine glass which was filled with wine.

"You know....,  people don't fill their wine glass with the wine!!" I said.

"I know, my mom told me that but i like disobeying her so...., I'm used to it!!" She said.

"But,  if you want to be criticizing what i do, you can take your leave. But since you're the uhmm,  owner,  i will take my leave!!" She said. Oh God.

"No.....,  no,  i just......,  i want to be  civil!!" He said. She  gave me a bored look.

"Well,  then. Be my guest!!" She said and  sipped her wine. I sat.

"Thanks!!"

"No problem!! Now,  do that clap thing and  get your own wine glass!!" She  said.

"Not necessary. I just wanted to apologize for earlier!!" I said.

"For what again?" She asked.

"Everything. You see,  this.....,  this whole thing has been really fast and....., uncomfortable!!"

"Add weird to it. Its very weird!!" She said and i smiled.

"Yeah. But,  we're stuck and there's no going back!!" I said.

"Yes. So......?" She said.

"So, i was thinking maybe....."

"Sorry to interrupt your majesty,  but the king seeks for you!!" The maid said,  head hung low.

"Okay,  I'll be there in a bit!!" I said,  she bowed and  left.

"So....,  I'm so sorry,  I'll have to take my leave!!" I said.

"Of course!! Go ahead!!" She said and i smiled before standing up.

"It was a nice conversation anyway." I said. She raised her glass and left with a smile on my face.

Charlotte's POV.

        Nice conversation. Indeed it was. But my mind is  telling me he has an ulterior motive. I don't know,  don't judge me!! I live in a world where anything and everything is possible!! You can't blame me if someone was an ass to me just this morning and wants to be 'CIVIL'. Note the sarcasm,  the guy is up to something,  and I'm gonna be  up for it!! Cause I'm gonna  play my own game!!

I sipped my wine and stretched. I should really know the in and out of this palace. I only know this garden and the inside, there should be  stables or pool. Or a gigantic library. Or a  really nice music room. Or a....

"Charlotte!!" I heard a familiar voice.

"Yes....,  Lacey!!" I said.

"What are you doing?" She asked and sat on the chair opposite me. Exactly where Xavier sat. I love that name, i don't know why.

"What does it 'look' like I'm doing?" I asked.

"Someone's getting rude? Is it because you're gonna  be a  princess?" She asked smiling.

"Someone's behaving really annoying!! Is it because they are dyi....." I stopped at my tracks and  sipped my wine.

"Well......, thank you. I bought your ball gown!!" She said.

"Hell no!!" I said.

"Hell yeah!!" She squealed like a teenager.

"Lacey,  you are forty five. Behave like one!!" I pout.

"Behave twenty five  too dear!!" She said.

"That reminds me. I'll be  twenty five few months later. I should start preparing for my birthday party!!" I said.

"Girl. Wedding first!!" She said.

"Come,  let me show you everything i bought!!"

"I'm not gonna like it!!"

"You're gonna love it!!"

"I'm gonna  hate it!!"

"You're gonna dance with it!!"

"I warned  you!!"

"I'm telling you!!"

So we ended up going back to the Royal dressmaker,  the Queen herself recommended it and forcefully followed us. Dad was arriving tonight and I'm so happy. At least,  he's gonna  be  here. We found a very nice beautiful wine strapless dress that had a long glove reaching my elbow. Super nice. And black heels. We went jewel shopping and  people really looked at me and wanted to see the Bride-to-be. God!! I never knew i would actually get married!! Ever!!

We got to the palace late and tired and the maids took the bags to the room. And i saw my dad talking with the king and  Xavier. And Xavier was so polite. He's a  liar father. A very very very very dirty pretender!! Gosh i hate pretenders!! Since  it was 'rude' 🙄 to interrupt,  i had  to wait for an entire hour before going to jump on my dad. I miss him so much!! After our father and  daughter reunion,  i had shower and wore a simple white short tight gown that hung close to my body. Yeah!! I packed my hair bun and wore silver heels and had a nude make up. Gosh,  i look hot.

I strutted down the stairs as they all looked at me,  oh yeah!! I'm a killer!! I'm gorgeous!! I breathed in and  out and walked to them.

"Sorry I'm late!!" I said as i walked to the dining room. Nice!! I sat beside my father and we all started eating. I could see Xavier's eyes on me but i ignored it!! I ate my dinner pleasantly and after their boring talks. Everyone went to sleep and i wanted to take a walk. As i walked, i enjoyed the breathtaking view of the sky. So relaxing!! I love taking walks,  it clears my mind and  brings be  peace!! And  i loved the wind that flew,  i released my hair and i just walked. After some minutes,  i decided to walk back. And to say i was lost was an understatement!! It was then i found the pool. The stables. Nice. I found the greenhouse. The artist room. Oh i saw beautiful paintings. Who the hell drew them?

"Charlotte?" I heard a voice and i was startled. I turned to see  brown beautiful eyes staring at me.

"Xavier?" I said.

"Did you want to kill me?" I asked him.

"I'm sorry,  i didn't mean to startle you!! I'm sorry!!" He said.

"No problem!!" I said flipping my hair and he smiled.

"You look lost!!" He said.

"Lost....,  hell no. I know exactly where i am headed!!" I said.

"Where you going to the pool either? Or the stable?" He asked me. That accent.

"I don't know. Whatever!!" I said

"Yeah,  first thing on Tuesday Morning,  I'm taking you on a tour!!" He said.

"For the palace?" I asked.

"Yeah. It would be  so embarrassing and shameful if a princess doesn't know her routes in her own palace!!" He said.

"Nah,  its fine. I would know everywhere in a flash. Like flash!!"  I said. See what i did there? 😉

"Flash?" He asked.

"Yeah? Its a marvel movie. You know,  superheros!! Oh my gosh,  you don't know flash?" I asked.

"No idea!!" He said.

"Okay, superman?" I asked him.

"Nope!!" He replied.

"Okay, i have a good one? The Lion King?" I asked him.

"No idea!!"

"Oh hell. Their's a  lot of things to show you and stuff you need to know!! Have you heard of Disney? Titanic?"

"Have you watched....."

   So after tons of 'have  you watched questions,  i was currently in front of my room.

"I don't know Charlotte. But about the palace,  there is still some places i don't know!!" He said

"And I've been living here  all my life!!" He said. I nodded.

"Okay......, fine. I'll accept the tour!!" I said.

"I'm pretty sure it was an order!!" He said and i rolled my eyes.

"Anyways,  goodnight!!" I said.

"Goodnight Charlotte. Sweet dreams!!" He said. I opened my door.

"You too!!" I said and closed my door. I smiled and had shower. I put on my nightdress and went to bed. Gosh I'm tired. I slept smiling.
