CHAPTER 14

"I am your closest friend, you have never invited to your apartment. The strange creature you invite." Alena acted as if she was sad.

"Are you going to my apartment? You want to see Sean's pet you are so scared of?"

"What? I didn't know Sean had a pet?"

"I suggest you don't go to my apartment, later Sean's pet will get mad when a female guest visits there."

"Sarah. You must be just scaring me, right? Right?"

"Believe it or not," Sarah replied casually. she had reached her seat, sat on Joshua's chair which was now her.

Before long, a familiar figure to Sarah arrived. In a plain black t-shirt and navy blue jeans, Lucas walked confidently toward the bench. From the classroom door to past Sarah's bench, their eyes met. Even so, Joshua was jealous of him. Even Joshua saw clearly how much Sarah was acting up just because Lucas was passing her by. Sarah came out of the girl's toilet in the corner of the building. The toilet was not that crowded, unlike the toilets in the main school building. Only a few students were milling about.

Having just walked a few steps, someone pulled her hand behind the school.

"Josh, what are you doing? Get off my hand, Josh!" asked Sarah to the perpetrator.

Joshua ignored it. Instead, he pushed Sarah's shoulder until her back hit the wall. Joshua locked Sarah in the confines of her hands.

"What's the connection between you and that cold face? Are you guys dating?"

"Gosh, are you drunk, Josh? At school, you dared to drink?"

"Just answer, Sarah! Do you have a relationship with him? I saw you blushing just because he was walking beside you."

"Josh, don't be like this. You're drunk. You better go to the health room. Get rid of your hangover first."

"Listen to me, Sarah." Joshua took Sarah's hands. Bring it to Joshua's chest.

"Don't you hear every beat of my heart just for you? My eyes will only be on you, Sarah."

Without feeling Joshua's tears dripping as he revealed his heart. Joshua looked down so deeply that Sarah had a hard time seeing his eyes.

"I was waiting for you, Sarah. I kept waiting until you were willing to see me. But until I got tired of waiting for you, you never once wanted to respect my feelings."

Sarah is confused. Joshua is a good young man. He also never did anything to her. He always paid attention to Sarah, although sometimes, his way was a little strange. He is also good at lessons, even though he sometimes looks lazy. But somehow, Sarah couldn't like Joshua and accept his feelings.

"Josh, I-"

"Forget about him Sarah, and accept my feelings. Please."

"She doesn't like you. You can't force her, Mr. Giesler," said someone suddenly coldly from behind him.

"You ... the bastard Sarah likes? I don't know what is in you that can make Sarah fall in love with you, Mr. Peterson," said Joshua who in reality was so aware of the comparison between himself and the figure behind him.

"Josh, don't get me wrong. I don't like anyone here. I just ..."

"You like him, Sarah. Even a fool will tell by the way you look at him."

Joshua released his grip on Sarah's hands. He walked unsteadily. Slowly step back away. 

Sarah is embarrassed. Her face automatically turned red as a ripe tomato. But she held it back so that Lucas and Joshua wouldn't misunderstand more.

Sarah glanced at Lucas who was also staring at himself as if asking, 'Is it true what Joshua said?'

There was a hint of a mocking smile as well as a hint of a genuine smile on Lucas's face for the two creatures in front of him. One was drunk with a broken heart. One is embarrassed that her secret has been revealed in front of the person she likes.

"Joshua! I said I don't like anyone, you hear? So, let's go to the health room. You need medicine to get over your hangover."

Sarah grabbed Joshua's arm for her to wrap it over her shoulder. Support it so that it is strong and walk up to the space in question.

It's quiet. Joshua did not accept Sarah's treatment - judged - out of pity, but also did not refuse when Sarah grabbed his arm and waist. Past Lucas, who didn't move an inch from his place.

"I like you, Sarah."

The body that looked so sturdy now collapsed helplessly. Joshua passed out after being able to say his heart so sincerely to Sarah.

"Joshua!"

"Josh, did you wake up?" Sarah approached as soon as she saw a little movement from Joshua. But Joshua didn't respond to Sarah's question. He was silent. Closing his eyes with his arms and looking away slightly from Sarah.

Sean held Sarah by grabbing Sarah's arm who wanted to get closer to Joshua.

"Let him calm down, Sarah. He needs time alone."

Sean tries to give Sarah an understanding so as not to bother Joshua first.

"But, Sean, I want to explain something so he doesn't get it wrong."

"I understand, Sarah. Come with me." Sean gave the code for Sarah to continue outside.

Sarah looked again at Joshua's lying down. I feel reluctant to move until this problem is resolved. It's just that, Sean really said, Joshua needed time to calm himself down.

Unwillingly, Sarah walked with Sean. As she was about to close the door, Sarah saw Joshua was lying with his back to the door.

"Actually, how do you feel about Joshua, Sarah? What I see, you are still confused about your feelings?" Sean asks Sarah for an explanation when they arrive at a lonely place. Looks like they have to skip class until the last class.

Sarah sighed. She was also confused by her feelings. As if memories from a year back since her first meeting with Joshua, Joshua never made her sad. Always trying to make her laugh. Even though he had to be annoyed when Joshua was starting to tease her. Almost every day, Josh always accompanied her, even though Sarah didn't care about him. 

Joshua also introduced him to the world of racing. At that time, Sarah was sad, for some reason, Sarah had forgotten. Then, Joshua took him to the race site. In the past, it was Joshua who always won in that arena. But after he lost the match with Sarah, Joshua chose to quit racing and decided to become an intermediary for the challenger who wanted to compete with Sarah.

This time, Sarah took a deeper breath. Joshua is more than just a friend to her. Maybe almost the same position as Sean. However, she couldn't accept Joshua's feelings. His heart wavered, ever since the cold commander came.
