2020-11-06 08:23:10Fear overshadow my soul as the door creaked open revealing my worst nightmare,the air turned black around me as I stepped into the room.The door suddenly close behind me making my heart beat even more faster,icy fingers gripped my neck choking life out of me and my eyes become blur as it closes gradually.
I shouted for help but I couldn't even hear my voice,I heard my name from a distance and I felt a hand shaking me,my blurred eyes opened widely and I saw my mum screaming my name and shaking my body,I just had another nightmare.My name is Sarah I am the third child out of four in my family and I live with my parents and siblings in a small apartment located in Santa Monica,California which is in the county of Los Angeles,our apartment happened to be at the end of the street with forest surrounding us.I love playing in the forest so having one around me is not a problem for me.It all started four years ago when my grandfather moved in with us,I was his favourite and he loves me so much,my other siblings become so jealous of me because he do pamper me as if I'm the last born of the house but the happiness was short lived when he died a mysterious death a year after he moved in with us and since then I started having nightmares always seeing him beckoning me to come and join him where he was.I narrated this to my parents and they laughed it off telling me I'm just missing him due to the love we shared together when he was still alive,I believed their words and moved on with my life but the nightmares keeps coming everytime and it's driving me crazy.I stood up from my bed and went into the bathroom to prepare myself for school,I skipped breakfast as usual and I could hear my mum screaming on top of her voice calling me to come back and take my breakfast before going to school but my father has already drove off before she opens the front door."You really need to stop skipping breakfast or else you'll have to deal with your mum's anger every morning".My dad said as he concentrated on the road."I'll try not to next time dad,I promise".I replied knowing fully well that I can't keep the promise.My Dad parked his car in front of the school gate and we alighted from his car,he shouted our names suddenly and reminds us we haven't tell him we love him before going and I hate it when he does that."I love you Dad".I and my siblings chorused together and he gave a sweet smile,I love it when he does that.I come across my friends on my way to class,they are also my classmates.Class started an hour ago but I couldn't concentrate in class because I kept wondering why I do have the same nightmare everytime and also why will my grandfather keeps telling me to come and meet him where he was,that simply means he wants me dead.My teacher shouted my name suddenly and I became shock,I noticed all my classmates fixed their gaze on me and I was wondering why they do that.My teacher looked at me and told me to answer the question she just asked me."I don't think you asked me any question".I answered her looking surprised and my classmates burst into laughter including my friends.Miss Claire shut them up after warning me and threatened to report me to my dad if she asked me any question again and I failed to answer her.The bell rang and miss Claire left the class giving us an assignment before leaving,I left the class with my friends and we started gisting on our way to the library to get the textbook our teacher recommended for us to solve the assignment she gave us."You don't seem to concentrate in class today,what's wrong?".Jasmine asked."Nothing Jasmine,I was just feeling dizzy".I replied her but I know she's not satisfied with my answer."Nothing?,and you couldn't even answer the question miss Claire asked".Bryan said making it more difficult for me to keep the secret about what happened to myself.I knew they won't let me be until I tell them what's wrong with me so I decided to narrate everything about my nightmare to them."Maybe you're missing him just as your parents said".Gigs was the first person to speak after telling them my story."No I think she needs to be taken to a psychiatric hospital maybe her brain has malfunctioned".Isabella said and we all burst into laughter at the same time and the other students stopped and starred at us as if we have truly gone crazy.We got to the library and searched for the textbook we needed and started working on the assignment our teacher gave us earlier on in class. * * *A man ran into the forest with a gun in his hand,he keeps running as far as his leg could carry him.He suddenly stopped and the bruises on his face,arm and chest can be seen clearly.He looked around for a while and bent down afterwards trying to find the foot track of anything he's been looking for.When he couldn't find anything he started running again but this time not as fast as before,he heard the sound of something running and he quickly ran towards the direction.He aimed his gun and shot his bullet into the darkness and someone shrieked."I got him".The man said running towards the direction he shot at.He saw greenish stains on the leaves as he walked pass the narrow pathway in the forest,he stopped when he saw the body of the creature he shot at thinking it's dead.The man turned around setting to leave after concluding his prey is dead,but the creature suddenly stood up and hit the man unawares.The man fell on the ground and struggled up immediately ready to fight the huge creature,the black hairy body and sharp claws of the creature stood firmly and it started running towards the man after giving a loud roar.The man stands still waiting for the creature now turned beast to descend on him and tear him apart,the beast clenched his fist ready to hit him but it was outsmarted by the man who dodged it's fist and stabbed it's jaw.The beast died struggling to remove the knife in it's jaw.Rain started falling heavily,the man turned around and walked up to the spot where the beast fell."They are here".The man said starring at the body of the dead beast on the ground.

Dave suddenly wake up when he heard someone screaming.He tap his brothers and they wake up almost immediately.They ran out of their room together heading towards Sarah's room.They entered her room and met their parent there.Blake hanged one of her arms around Sarah's neck and led her out of the room,while Richard was still standing starring at them as they walked out of Sarah's room moving towards their bedroom.Richard's expression wasn't a good one,he looked so dejected and it's shown all over his face."Dad are you alright?.You look dejected".Dave asked looking worried."I'm alright Dave.I'm just tired,I'll be fine after getting some rest".Richard replied him."What's wrong with Sarah?.I heard her scream.Is she alright?".Dave asked gazing at him like a hungry lion."She'll be fine.I think she just had another nightmare".Richard answered."I think she needs help Dad,this nightmare of hers is becoming more alarming or what do you think dad?".
