Chapter 11:- Christmas Dinner (2)

It was already 7pm, when I took out the cake from inside the oven, Minho left the kitchen a long time ago and went to the living room.

I placed the cake on the kitchen table and started to decorate it. It took a long time for me to do that. I finished the rest of my work in the kitchen, placed the cake safely, so that we can cut it later on.

I took out cups and plates from inside kitchen cabinet and started to fill them with orange juice and snacks which I've brought earlier.

I went outside with the snacks and drinks. I was startled as I entered the living room, Minho and Ho-Jun were actually talking and they were getting along pretty well.

I felt happy to see that Minho is not feeling hostile towards Ho-Jun anymore. Maybe, they can be good friends, as Minho doesn't have many friends here, he just had me and Junsoo here. 

"Whose up for some snacks and drinks??", I smiled and placed the snacks and drinks on the small table at the middle of the sofa.

"Minji you're bestest", Minho started to jump excitedly, as soon as he saw the snacks.

"I know!", I said with a smile.

I sat beside Junsoo and saw Minho as he ate holding the bowl of snacks and kept talking to Ho-Jun.

"When did they get along so well??", I asked looking over at Junsoo, who was drinking her juice peacefully.

"Long before you came", she replied.

"That's unusual though", I said, as I saw Minho and Ho-Jun laughing among themselves.

"What's so funny guys that you're laughing so much??", I asked looking at both of them.

"Ho-Jun was telling me how you almost got crushed by his car", Minho replied.

"What's so funny about that??", I asked raising my eyebrows a bit.

"He told me about how dumb you looked, when you got to know that you're still alive and that you kept sitting in the middle of the street, looking at his car for a long time", after saying that Minho burst out laughing.

Ho-Jun and Junsoo always joined him and started laughing.I didn't say anything and sat there with an angry swollen face. 

"Hey, hey! Now, don't get angry my princess", Minho said as he made his way towards me and sat down beside me on the sofa.

I didn't say anything and kept ignoring him.

"Ms. Ki---- I'm sorry, Minji! It was my fault, don't get angry on Minho", Ho-Jun said looking at me.

"No, no, Ho-Jun it's not your fault", I said quickly and shot a glare at Minho.

I got up and sat beside Ho-Jun.

"You know Ho-Jun, you're a far better person than that dumb ass. Maybe, we can become nice friends in the near future", I looked over at Ho-Jun and gave him a smile.

He didn't say anything, but I could tell from his eyes that he was happy about what I just said. 

We both stared at each other, I felt so mesmerized by his eyes that I can't help, but stare at them, I don't know but they kind of had a sparkle in them and it calmed my heart and at the same time can make my heart skip a beat.

"So Minji, when are going to leave!?", Junsoo asked suddenly, me and Minho came back to our senses.

"In about two days", I said hurriedly, avoiding looking at Ho-Jun.

"Leaving?? Where are you going??", Ho-Jun asked hurriedly, he sounded like he was nervous or something.

"Yeah! I'm leaving for India in two days time", I said.

"What?? Why are you leaving all of a sudden??", Ho-Jun asked, raising his voice a bit louder.

I was shocked to hear him like that. 

'Is he thinking that I'm leaving for good??', I thought to myself.

"Relax dude, she going to India for few days, for New year", Minho said quickly.

"O-oh s-sorry for behaving like that", Ho-Jun looked down, seeming embarassed.

"It's fine man! Don't you worry, I won't let her leave us here", Minho started laughing and winked at Ho-Jun.

Ho-Jun looked up to him, but didn't say anything, probably still feeling embarassed.

"Ho-Jun why didn't had anything to eat??", I noticed that he didn't even touched the drinks and snacks I brought.

"Ah, that's.....", Ho-Jun said scratching his head.

"What happened!? Are you sick or something??", this time Junsoo asked.

"Are you sick??", I asked nervously looking at him.

"N-no, not at all", Ho-Jun replied.

"Then what's the matter??", Minho asked.

"Umm, actually the thing is that I can't eat or drink outside packet food. I get sick after eating them", Ho-Jun replied sounding a bit uncomfortable.

"Oh! You should have told us earlier then. How about I make something for you then??", I said as I got up and was about to go to the kitchen.

"No, no, don't bother. I'm not that hungry now", Ho-Jun quickly said.

"Oh ok then", I again sat back.

We finished the snacks quickly while chatting happily, except Ho-Jun, he didn't eat anything.

We were having a great time together. Everyone was chatting, laughing and having fun.

"Hey Minji! Did you bring beer??", Minho suddenly asked.

"You know right, that I don't drink on other days except that one day in a year", I said as I shot him a glare.

"Yeah I know, sorry", Minho said quickly.

"It's ok. How about I bring you more snacks", I said.

"That would be great", Minho replied and went off to the kitchen to get more snacks.

I felt weird when I heard Minji say that, that she doesn't drink on other days except one day in a year.

As soon as she left for the kitchen, I thought of asking Minho about it.

"Umm Minho, can I ask something??", I asked softly.

"Yeah dude, go ahead".

"What was that about Minji and drinking??", I asked while looking at him.

"Ah, that's...... actually she only drinks alcohol on a fixed day every year, since she graduated from college", Minho said in a soft voice.

"But why??", I asked feeling more curious now.

"That's a very stupid reason, she came up with by herself. She only drinks alcohol on the day of a certain person's birthday", Minho replied with a sigh.

"What!??", I exclaimed feeling shocked.

"Yes! She makes cake for him and celebrate that day in her home alone drinking champagne and making food. Don't get the wrong idea, she doesn't to do in a state of depression and don't even think that she has psychological problems, she only does it to make herself happy. That day of the year she always smiles brightly, just the like the bright sun. It's always good to see her like that", I found Minho's voice getting gentler and softer at he said the last part, but his voice carried a bit sadness also at the same time.

"But why doesn't she spend it with the man she loves??", I was pretty much shocked to know that the person she loves was not Minho, but someone else.

'But who can that be', I thought to myself.

"She can't celebrate it with him, because he doesn't even know that Minji exists", Minho suddenly said with a sad smile.

"But why doesn't he knows about her existence?? Whose this guy??", I asked feeling more curious.

"That guy is-".

"Hey guys! I'm back", Minho stopped as soon as he heard Minji's voice from the back.

We all looked over at her direction and gave her a smile.

"So, what are guys talking about??", she asked looking at us as she placed the snacks on the table.

"Nothing, just normal talks", Junsoo who was silent the whole time suddenly replied.

"Oh I see", Minji said.

"Hey guys! I've got an idea. Why don't we do karaoke here!", Minho suddenly suggested.

"Yeah, let's do it", Junsoo replied looking excited.

"Count me in then", Minji also replied.

"Me too", I was helpless so I also joined them.
