Chapter 5: Friends

Dear Diary,

Today was one of the best days of my life. Even though I can't make Y/N mine immediately, I will try to do it step by step. Just like today, by being friends with her first. Luckily she accepted. I don't care if she got anyone else in her heart but I will earn her. She's mine, only mine.

I felt bad to see her cheekbone covered in a bruise and her wrist broken. This was all my fault. I should've planned something else instead of that. Jungkook's a softie as he wouldn't have hit Y/N so I should've chosen him, and I did, but he was too much of a wimp to take part in the plan. He didn't want to get beaten up by Y/N. Well, good choice Jungkook. Jimin got beaten up instead.

Anyways, when I was walking alongside Y/N to her house, I felt so different around her. She is just so unique and nothing like that h*e Hwasa who I dated. I loved her so much but all she did was cheat on me because I wasn't "enough" for her. But I don't care anymore. I want Y/N. She is the only one who can heal my heart. I offered her to be my friend today and she accepted but warned me to not try anything. 

I will respect her and her opinion so I won't try anything and just earn her trust first. I shook her hand with a smile when she accepted to be my friend and she did the same.

Her smile is so beautiful. The way her big brown eyes glistened while giving me a genuine smile. The way her lips revealed her pearl-like teeth when she smiled, the way she melts my heart with her smile can not be described by words and it's amazing how one smile from her can make my entire day even more as beautiful as a picture. 

Every little habit of hers is so special to me, even when she tucks loosen strands of her hair behind her pierced ear with her thin beautiful hands which are now bruised due to my stupidity but nothing can be done now. I will go do some of my homework. Wait what? Homework? I guess she did change me. Hehe, bye.

[Meanwhile...... 6:30 pm]

Y/N P.O.V

I approached my house' front door after waving Taehyung goodbye with a smile, a real smile. Yes, I'm friends with him now but nothing more than that. I use my keys to open the front door, but I realize it's already open. 

Yoongi must have gotten home early ad if it's not Yoongi and some burglar, then well I pity that guy. I

I sigh in relief that I don't have to use my fist to hit someone again but then soon realize my brother is glaring at me. 

All I could think of was, "Did I do something wrong? Did I cause him any trouble?" 

These were the questions I could think of the whole time when I suddenly spoke with a flustered voice, "H...hey." 

But he only replied to me in a bitter tone, " Who was that guy Y/N?"

Whoooo, thank goodness. I thought I did something wrong. I let out a huge sigh and allow myself to drop down on the couch with immense force.

 I pull down my sleeve to not let him see my fractured wrist and use the other hand to cover my face.

 "Please Yoongi, not now.", I mumble in an annoyed tone but he doesn't give up and gets hold of my fractured wrist with some force causing me to let out a slight whimper due to the pain but I kept my head down to not allow him to see my bruise. 

He noticed and furrowed his eyebrows before pulling up my sleeve to see my wrist covered by the white gauze.

 His eyes widened and yelled, "What the hell happened??!!" 

I didn't reply and just kept my head down. "Y/N look at me.", he said being worried but I didn't budge. 

He cupped my face gently and saw the bruise on my cheekbone.

 I know he was freaking out internally but didn't show; instead, he talked in a calm voice, "What happened? Did you get into another fight?" 

I decided to abandon the silence and told him everything that happened today. He looked at me the whole time with a blank expression. After I explained everything he seemed to understand me, which he always does.

"Are you okay though?", he asked me with a worried expression.

"Yoongi why do you keep forgetting that I am a black belt in karate?", I questioned him with narrow eyes.

He let out a sigh and answered, "I never forget that but you are human and humans feel pain too. You don't always have to act tough, my dear sister." 

I simply nod to him and get up from the couch and start walking towards my room but stopped when I heard my brother calling me, "Y/N, I didn't forget okay." 

I act dumb knowing he was asking about Taehyung, "Forget what?" 

But as always he catches me, "Don't act all dumb and innocent with me. Now, who was that guy?"

 I turn towards him and tell him the truth, "Just a friend Yoongi. I promise"

He believed me but then I remembered I had to ask him something, "Yoongi I have to ask you something."

"What do you wanna ask me?"

"Promise me you will agree to it"

"It depends on what you ask me, pumpkin."

"Just promise me!"

"Fine, what do you want."

"I want to apply for a job", I said being straightforward. He was annoyed to hear my request but I don't want to give up. 

He works so hard to earn money and it hurts to see him struggling all the time. 

He looks down at his feet but finally replies, "Y/N, why would you wanna work when my salary is enough for paying off the house rent, paying off your school fee and getting a decent meal 3 times a day. You don't have to Y/N. Go to your room and focus on your studies rather than thinking about applying for a job."

Y/N P.O.V ends

Yoongi P.O.V

She didn't fight back and quietly went back to her room. I know she wants to help me pay off the debts my parents took but I don't want her to be burdened with school work, as well as a job. It hurts me to see her like this and I can't bear to see her like this. I knocked on her door to hear a muffled "come in". 

I went inside to see an upside-down Y/N lying on her bed. I sit at the edge of the bed and pat her back telling her to sit up straight. She sat up straight on her bed and looked at me with eyes full of tears threatening to fall down at any moment. 

I think about it and seeing her happy is all I want so if she wants a part-time job, she can, "Y/N, if you are so eager to work, you can." 

Hearing this her eyes shot up towards me and said, "Really, I can?" 

Y/N is very special to me and losing her would be a complete nightmare. Even though she is a tough girl, she has a weak heart.

 I reply with a "yes" and the next thing I know is that she hugs me really tightly to the point where I can't even breathe. Damn, she's strong. I pat her back indicating her to release me from her tight embrace, which she follows and I smile at her before leaving her room to let her rest.

Yoongi P.O.V ends

It was about 7:30 pm and Y/N got out of the shower. She was wearing a white loose T-shirt and black sweatpants to feel comfortable. She quickly dried her hair and took hold of her phone to go to the living room to watch a movie with her brother.

2 hours later........

Yoongi had slept through the movie as always while Y/N watched it till the end. She enjoyed action movies but soon she felt tired and got up from the couch.

 She smiled when looking at her cute brother sleeping peacefully Y/N placed a blanket over him because it is quite cold and left to her room after pecking his soft pillow-like cheeks.

Y/N jumped to her bed and hid under the covers to play games on her phone until she tires out completely.

 Suddenly her phone let out a "ding" which startled her but she checked what it was and saw a text message from Taehyung which said, "Good night friend" 

She couldn't help but smile like an idiot in front of her screen but soon replied with a good night. She didn't know why, but she kinda likes him. She knew this day would come, but she keeps reminding herself to keep her distance.

 He is just a friend and he probably must be playing with you. Keeping this reminder in mind, she cuddled with her giant plush toy and drifted to sleep.
