CHAPTER 14

EVE'S POV:-

I was sitting on the bed, chewing my nails nervously. Master Adrian had told me something that I did not want to happen. He said he had to go out of the territory for a few days. I asked him to take me with him but according to him, that place was dangerous. I knew I did not have powers by then. And I also could not protect myself from any kind of danger. I could not even defend myself. I knew I was nothing but a death note for Master Adrian if I went with him there. 

Master was getting ready and I was on the bed. Master Adrian actually started sleeping into my room. He did not care about the colors of the walls and the type of the furniture in my room. He said it was impossible for him to sleep without me around him. He said my scent was his serum to calm his nerves. He sometimes used my bathroom as well. I did not mind his presence in my room at all. In fact his presence actually gave me strength.

Once Master Adrian was ready, he grabbed his wand and his hat. He then came to me. He sat beside me and wrapped his arms around me. "Eve, I will be back before you will know. It is important and I can not take you with me. Trust me, it kills me more to leave you here. More than it kills you. But I can not risk your life. You mean everything to me." He cooed me while I inhaled his scent as deeply as I could. I wanted to fill my lungs with his scent. So I would not lack his scent in his absence. But still, it was more than difficult for me to let him go a day after I was healed.

"I know. I just don't want to be away from you. When will you be back?" I asked him in a sad tone and he pecked the top of my head. He then broke the hug and cupped my face with both of his hands. He smiled widely and I took a deep breath. He knew how much his smile affected me. He knew I would forget everything the moment I would see his smile. And that was what happened. I lost in his smile and forgot everything.

"I will be back soon. I want you to stay inside the palace. Hayden is far away. He will not be back before I will. So do not worry too much. I will be back before you know it. And I am leaving Ryan to keep you safe. Just don't let me leave with this sad face of yours in my mind. You know I will not be able to work, knowing that you are sad." He said and I narrowed my eyes for a minute. I looked back at him and forced a small smile on my face.

"Just promise me that you will come back soon. I can not even sleep without you." I replied with a pout on my face. He chuckled softly after hearing my claims. He pecked my forehead and I shut my eyes. As if I could see his lips on my forehead, that was what I felt. He rubbed my back lightly then let go of me. He stood up and gave me his hand. I stood up with him and he took me out of the room.

His cart was already standing at the gates of the palace. Once we reached the cart he hugged me one more time and kissed the top of my head. He then stepped into the cart and I took a few steps backwards. He peeked his head out of the window and gave me his sexy smile. My nails went to my mouth and I started chewing my nails in nervousness. I just could not help it. His smile always awoke the butterflies in my stomach. I giggled seeing his smirk. He knew that I was aroused seeing his smile.

Master Adrian signalled the driver and the cart started moving. Master signalled me to keep smiling and I just nodded my head. I stayed at the gates of the palace until the cart finally faded into the horizon. I sighed because I knew it would be just me and my loneliness. I knew no one actually liked me. They all accepted me because of Master Adrian. But from inside, they all hated me. Especially Melissa, it was like I had murdered someone close to her. That was why she hated me. But in reality, she was a bitch who could climb into anyone's bed so she could live like a queen. I knew that she would never understand what it is meant to be a mate.

MASTER ADRIAN'S POV:-

The cart finally came to a halt in front of the gates of the palace. One of my vampires came and opened the door for me. I stepped out of the cart and looked around. As I saw no one around, I sniffed the air a few times. I smirked as I got the scent of my friend, Vincent Redford. I started following the scent and it led me to Master Redford. 

"I should not be surprised as I know you have found me that very minute when you stepped out of your cart. Maybe that is why you are the best and undefeatable vampire Master. And maybe that is the reason your territory is bigger and stronger than any other territory here, in this part of Louisiana." Master Redford said as he caught my scent when I made my way towards him. I smirked and went to Master Redford. We both shared a friendly hug then we nodded at each other.

"Well, if you would play this game of our childhood every time we meet each other, I will be able to find you faster than the last time. You should be unpredictable, my friend Vincent. If not, you will lose every single time. The choice is yours." I replied in a proud tone and he started laughing hysterically. I joined him as well and all other vampires were looking at us with their mouths agape. As it was not something usual to see us both laughing carelessly.

Master Vincent then patted my back and I nodded at him. He signalled me to follow him and I did as he asked me to do. I followed him into a palace that was owned by one of the vampire Masters. He was the one who had the responsibility to provide food for all the vampires of the allied territories and for their human slaves. His name was Master Gerard. His slaves welcomed us and showed us the way to the guest rooms. 

I opened the door for my room and stepped inside. I shut the door and went to the bed. I heard a loud knock on the door. "Come in." I said and looked at the door. A new slave I had never seen before in Gerard's palace, stepped into my guest room. Gerard also followed her behind. I smiled as I saw him. I stood up and went to him. We shook hands and shared a friendly hug. 

"My friend Adrian. You look better than ever. Looks like someone is taking care of my friend pretty well. I am definitely happy to see you happy, my old friend." Master Gerard said as we broke the hug. I chuckled hearing him and nodded my head. 

"You look good too. Looks like you have gotten new slaves and they are better than the others." I replied and he laughed out loud. 

"Well, you know me, my friend. I can live without blood for days but I can not survive a day without sex and a sexy woman by my side. Sometimes, more than one." He replied and winked into my direction. I chuckled again, knowing how colorful life he had and how many more colors he was adding into his life.

"I know. You don't have to justify yourself for being good in bed. After all, you are the most experienced one in all of us. Vincent has become an old man as his son is now all grown up. I definitely can not wait to see his son taking over his responsibilities. He is smarter and stronger than his father." I replied and he nodded his head. Aiden was like a son to us all.

 Aiden was kind of a miracle child. Not even Vincent knew that he had impregnated a woman he had slept with. Her name was Ciara. She became Vincent's life after he learned the truth. That Ciara was carrying Vincent's baby. After that, they got married and everything was perfect. Until the day of Aiden's birth. Of course, it was impossible for a human to carry the child of an immortal. Vampire babies are not easy to handle. That was the reason why she died while giving birth to Aiden.
