New Day

•••••Aaria's Pov•••••

I jolted and woke up panting and sweating after seeing that nightmare again. (Pushing her hair back) Another nightmare (Sighs) 

I started looking for my phone which was under my pillow. I saw the time, date and realized that today was the first day of my senior year.

 It was only 4:55 A.M in the morning, so I decided to get ready and make breakfast for everyone.

 I went to the bathroom and did my business and started to get ready for the new day, with new people and in a new town. 

I promised myself not to cry or show my weakness to anyone. I decided to act excited about the new school and my 1st day in front of my aunt and uncle. 

But the truth is I'm afraid, I feel scared. It feels like everything is falling apart. It's my first day in a new school and I'm terrified as hell.

 I was standing in front of my mirror fighting my tears and trying to smile.

 I put on some makeup to hide lightly faded bruises. I wore my black hoodie which said "You can do it" with white skinny jeans and white sneakers which my aunt bought for me yesterday. 

I pulled my hairs in a pony and put on my lipbalm, after checking myself one last time, I sighed and took my things.

I took my bag, cellphone and glasses and headed downstairs.

 I made my way towards the kitchen and started making breakfast.

 At 07:00 a.m Aunt and uncle came downstairs after getting ready. 

Uncle: Smells good (sniffing) 

Aunt: Yeah, Chef what do we have for breakfast? (Winks at Aaria)

 Aaria: Ma'am we have sweet and salty Candied Bacon with orange juice (Speaks professionally and giggles) 

Aunt: (Laughing) You didn't have to do this sweetie. Come and join us, we'll drop you off on our way.

 Uncle: Yeah (nodding) 

Aaria: No aunt, it's okay, don't bother yourself with it. I can go on my own. (Smiling while serving breakfast). 

Aunt: We don't have any problem with dropping you off. It's only a 10-minute drive away and it will take up to 40 minutes for you by walking to reach there.

Aaria: Aunt, I'd like to have some time of my own. You know that I like to walk so in that way I can have my morning walk too. (explaining)

 Aunt: But.... (stopped by uncle) 

Uncle: Okay Aaria, you can go on your own but let us drop you off today so that you can memorize the route and won't get lost in your way.

( Looking towards Aaria and squeezing Emma's hand) 

Aaria: Yeah sure. Thank you so much, uncle. (Happily) 

Aunt: Okay so let's start our breakfast then. 

Uncle: Where is Robert? (asking Emma) 

Aunt: He is sleeping. He can have his breakfast when he wakes up. (Answers nervous) 

Uncle: Hmmm... Okay. 

Aunt: You did a great job in making it, sweetie. I love it. From where did you learn how to make it? (Trying to change the atmosphere) 

Aaria: Thank you, I googled and tried it. ( shrugging her shoulder) 

Uncle: You're a great cook Aaria just like Eva. She was also a great cook. ( Praising her)

 (Aaria looks down hiding her tears after hearing about her mom from her uncle's mouth)

 (Aunt Coughs, pinches Liam and glares at him to make him realise what he had done ) 

Uncle: Emma you should learn to cook from Aaria. Hahaha(laughs awkwardly to lighten up the atmosphere)

(Aaria suddenly gets up from her chair)

 Aaria: Aunt I'm done, I'm waiting for you guys in the car. (moving away with her plate)

 (After washing her plate she went out of the house and waited for her uncle and aunt)

            •••••Inside House•••••

( Emma slaps Liam in his hands) 

Emma: You should watch your mouth before speaking (sadly) 

Liam: I didn't mean it. It just slipped. I'm just missing her, it's her death anniversary in 2 weeks. (sadly) 

Emma: (Sighs) Don't mention her in front of Aaria, see she didn't even finished her breakfast now let's go. 

(Taking plates from the table ) 

After doing the remaining dishes. They head towards their car where Aaria is waiting for them. 

            •••••Inside the car•••••

I wish mom was here to teach me how to cook, help in completing my homework and everything which I learned by myself.

 I miss her smell. 

I miss her soft hand caressing my head and patting my head while I was sleeping.

 I miss her bear hugs. I wish I could turn back the time. ( Thinking sadly) 

"Let's go" ( she heard her aunt say)

Uncle: Excited for the new school? ( watching through rare view while driving).

Aaria: Yeah( Answer while trying to sound excited) 

Aunt: Tell me about hot boys when you get home tonight(Winking) 

Uncle: (Groaned angrily) No boys ( Glaring towards Emma) 

(Emma smirking) 

Aunt: Yeah, no boys(Mimicking Liam and rolling her eyes). Liam she is going to be 18 soon, stop being so protective now. 

Uncle: No boyfriend, till she's 18 and I'm going to approve of him if he deserves her or not.

 Aunt: Stop it, Liam. Don't forget that we were only 16 when we started dating and my father never approved of you because of your rebel nature. He only approved of you because of me. (Smirking) 

Uncle: Ahem.. ( nervously clearing his throat) Don't talk about the past and I don't remember anything like this. 

Aunt: Ohh really (folding her hands) Should I remind you now? (Challenging) 

(A smile spread on Aaria's face after listening to them ) 

Uncle: No need (nervously looking at the road). Aaria, we're here. ( Stopping the car in the parking)

 ( Aaria gets off the car and stands beside her aunt's window) 

Aaria: Thank you, see you tonight. 

Uncle: Take care dear. Have fun(Smiles) 

Aunt: Take care dear( Caressing her head) 

Aaria: Bye( Leaving) 

Aunt: Don't forget to update me about hot boys(Shouts to irritate Liam)

 Uncle: Why don't you go with her? (jealous)

 (Aaria slowly smiles)

 Aunt: Ohh really, okay bye ( acts like she's going) 

Uncle: Bye Aaria.(Hurriedly starts the car and leaves)

 Aaria starts walking towards the front gate and sees students standing in parking lots and nearby areas.

 It looks like the whole school is waiting for the new student. (sighs)

 I just hope that this year passes peacefully.

 All Araria wished for was a year she could call peaceful but little did she know that it's going to be anything but "peaceful".
