Chapter 9:   BOOH...!!! 

Jennifer's POV :

I am sitting on the edge of the trunk as Lucas has already kept it open for me. So I'm waiting to surprise the kids.

.

.

However, after waiting for a few more minutes I heard some whispers of a crowd that are getting closer to me, so I prepare myself.

As they were getting closer and closer my heart beats faster as if it will come out. Though it's just a prank still I feel like I am doing something unethical work.

When they came closer to the car's trunk I came out raising both my hands up and making a loud sound, " BOOH...!!! "

Haahaa...

They all get scared, some even scream and some were shocked. While I laugh my way out. Tearing start coming out of my eyes.

" I got-you--you all. " I speak in between my laughter.

Seeing their reactions because of sudden whammy was something new for me these days. Though, I try to suppress my laughter. Because they all become oblivious for a while.

After some fraction of seconds later they came into their senses and starts cluttering. I didn't get what they were saying except - Why Jennifer??? Why did you do this to us??

They were all shouting and complaining to me but.... but at the same time. And now that's making me confused and tiresome because I couldn't figure out what they were saying. So I shout on top of my lungs, " ENOUGH, STOPPPPPP...!!! STOP MAKING NOISES...!!! "

They all become quit so now there is pin-drop silence. And from that silence, an innocent little girl speaks up while playing with her curls, " But now.... you are the one who is making noise. "

What??? 

Ohh yes!! She is right.

I was impressed by her smartness and innocence. So I slap my head for my stupidity, unintentionally.

However, I did a mistake so I apologize for that first, " I'm so sorry for that, sweetheart. " I bend forward and pinch her tiny nose.

And then I said in a firm tone to all other kids. " Well now speak individually. So that your aunt Jennifer can listen to you all probably and answer your questions, okay..?? " To which they all nodded in acceptance. 

And we started our question and answer session.

Why did you do this to us??

Why didn't you came to see us for so long??

Will you play with us??

Why did you scare us??

Are you going to stay here???

We had our session for more than thirty minutes. Some of the questions were common and repeated yet lovable. Because of all those questions, I came to know how awful they were missing me..!

And right at that moment I promise myself that I'll not give them a second chance to complain and will come here to meet them at first whenever I get time.

After that, we collected all the gifts from the trunk and take them in the front play garden.

Where I and Lucas distributed all those gifts to each and every one. Without being bias. 

Afterward, we all played lots of games. At first, we played Ice-breaker and Cat catching mice. We even played tug of war in which I and all the kids were opposite of Lucas. He was only one from his side, which was more than enough.!!! But fortunately, we won and he loses the game for the sake of the kids' happiness.

Then without taking any break we played Hide and Seek. When I was the seeker, I was not able to locate Lucas and a little brat named, Rosie. I thought they were both hidden together. Because they were hard to find. But the other kids help me out to find both of them without wasting time. Actually, it was already afternoon. So all of them were hungry, that's why they helped me out to find both of them. Smart kids!!!

But I appreciate them for that, they made the first move. Because right now I also don't have the energy to play with them any further. And I am glad that I didn't get tired that much at first. And didn't faint when we were playing continuously. But right now...... right now I am pretty exhausted.

Actually, I get fainted whenever my sugar level gets low because of hunger or anxiety. I have been diagnosed with hypoglycemia since I was a teenager.

We had our lunch in the orphanage mess. After lunch, I order pastries and ice creams from the nearest bakery. I give them a little treat. And I was fortunate enough that the bakery was not closed even on Sunday.
