CHAPTER 7

"Aren't you sitting here, Sarah?"

"No. That's for you only."

"Attention, kids. This morning, a new student will join you in this class. He's a transfer student from Canada. Lu, come in." Mrs. Smith invited someone into her classroom. A figure familiar to Sarah now stands right in front of the class. Staring straight into Sarah's eyes — who couldn't believe it turned out that her opponent last night was a new student at her school.

"Lu, please introduce yourself to your new friends," said Mrs. Smith cheerfully.

"Hi, I'm Lucas Matthew Peterson and I'm from Canada." Lucas introduced himself casually, ignoring the gaze of the female students who were fascinated by him.

"That's it, Lu?"

"Yes, Mam."

"Okay, please have a seat. There, behind Sarah. Sarah, raise your hand."

Sarah was forced to comply with Mrs. Smith's request. Or else, she would have a lot of work if he missed it.

"Anyway, Sarah, let's take Lucas to the administration office later to pick up his textbooks. Okay?"

"Yes, Mrs." Sarah answered reluctantly.

Lucas walked in a casual style but looked arrogant to Sarah's eyes. For some reason, Lucas made her so uncomfortable. Arriving in front of Sarah, Lucas teased Sarah by touching the tips of his fingers to his lips.

An odd chant immediately spread throughout Sarah's bloodstream. Until it makes her cheeks pointed, flattened. Her heart was beating faster. As if she was racing against time. Chase to be the winner. Sarah squeezed her chest which felt strange. Piercing yet feels good.

"Shit." Sarah cursed softly. But clearly, Lucas was able to hear it.

A smile immediately crossed Lucas's face.

"Hey, can't you just slow down?" Lucas was slightly annoyed by Sarah walking in front of him, in a hurry.

"I'm used to walking like this. So, shut up and just follow me." Sarah replied in a harsh tone.

“No problem. You look cute from behind. Small body, shiny blonde hair and—”

Sarah paused. Turned around by glaring at Lucas. Lucas, who saw the flames of anger in Sarah's eyes, immediately stopped right in front of Sarah.

"What?" Lucas pretends not to know the wrath of Sarah Caroline Reeves.

"Just shut your mouth up!"

"Okay. But, to be honest, you're so sexy." Lucas's temptation only made the fire burnt Sarah's common sense. Without thinking, Sarah was about to release her freezing power. However, suddenly Sean came to intervene. Holding onto his sister's right hand and standing towering back to Sarah and directly facing Lucas with his hand holding Lucas's chest.

"Don't make my sister angry. Or you will pay the price right away," Sean said with emphasis on every syllable.

"You are too stiff, Your Majesty Maxvero Javier Hudgen, prince of the Holyland kingdom." Lucas sneered at the prince who was on the run.

Sean looked around. Quiet. No other students were gathered or just chatting in the corridor of the administration room. Safe, he thought.

"You, how did you get here? What do you want?"

"What do I want?" Lucas paused a moment. "What I want is to catch the killer of the queen as well as the great king of Holyland." Lucas hissed right in front of Sean's face.

Prince Maxvero or Sean was so enraged by the accusing words directed at him that he pushed Lucas with his strength. Throwing Lucas into the back wall of the administration building. Lucas, who was not ready to take the unexpected attack, made him unable to dodge it. His back hurt so badly that blood came out from the corners of his lips.

Sarah, who is still in Sean's protection, is shocked to see Sean so angry. Moreover, to release its strength. Sarah understood why Sean was so angry. Those who desperately protect their parents from enemy attacks are now accused of killing their biological parents who are none other than the queen and king of the Holyland kingdom. An outsider who doesn't know and is only accusatory deserves the wrath of a crown prince Maxvero. However, there was a speck of strange taste that bit by bit gnawed at her heart when she saw Lucas hurt. 

'Gosh, you've gone crazy, Sarah', thought Sarah, shocked by her feelings. Immediately she mustered her strength to close her thoughts so that Sean could not read her mind which had started to go insane.

But for a few seconds, Sean could hear Sarah's thoughts. Made Sean furrow his brows even though he was still wary of the figure that was still in front of him.

"Are you all right, Sarah?"

"Yeah, I'm fine."

Again Sean focused his attention on Lucas, who was now wiping a little blood that had stained his lips.

"I did not think you were so strong, Prince. Is it because you have succeeded in taking the power of your biological parents?" Lucas sneered, which made Sean even more furious.

Sarah saw the killing air from inside Sean, so clearly, immediately stood in front of Sean, held Sean's chest, and then released the power of ice to freeze Lucas's hands and feet. At first glance, Lucas could see a trace of anxiety in Sarah's eyes - whether it was for him or her brother - before Sarah disappeared with her brother.

"You lousy. Which ice can beat eternal fire?" Lucas scowled. Within seconds, the ice that had frozen Lucas melted. Inside Lucas was the power of an eternal fire whose heat could not be overcome by an ordinary human. That's why Lucas was able to meet Sarah's immortal ice.

"Until whenever, I will continue to chase you. Royal traitors."

Sarah and Sean arrive at a wide and lonely place.

"What are you doing, Sarah? Why did you bring me here? I should have taken that person's life, earlier." Sean growled in anger.

"Sean, I'm sure this is just a misunderstanding. He just thinks we killed kings and queens. He's not a man on the job to kill us. Trust me, Sean."

"What made you think that?"

"He said 'he wants to catch the queen's killer as well as the great king of Holyland.' Not to kill us, Sean."

"But it could just be his excuse to cover up his true purpose. Don't be stupid, Sarah."

"No, Sean. I'm sure that's not the point of looking for us. From the start he knew our real identities, he could have killed me when you were away from me."

"When?"

"Last night."

"So he challenged you? And you lost?"

"I told you, I felt the cold when I was competing, that's why I lost."

"What are you betting on? It looks like the money in the vault hasn't lost tens of thousands of dollars. It's barely reduced."

"That ... That ... I ... I have to be his maid for a week." Sarah was forced to lie. He was afraid that Sean would get mad if he found out that Sarah kissed Lucas.

"And you took it?"

"Absolutely, not." Sarah was grateful she was able to shut her mind off Sean's power. And Sean always believed in him.

"Thank God then. Then what did he ask?"
