CHAPTER 8

"That ... That ... I ... I have to be his maid for a week." Sarah was forced to lie. He was afraid that Sean would get mad if he found out that Sarah kissed Lucas.

"And you took it?"

"Absolutely, not." Sarah was grateful she was able to shut her mind off Sean's power. And Sean always believed in him.

"Thank God then. Then what did he ask?"

"What? Emm that. Eh ... Look Sean, isn't she Lora?" Sarah saw a girl crossing the highway not far from where the two of them were standing. There was nothing strange about someone crossing, only Sean suddenly cursed and teleported to where Lora was standing.

"Shit," As fast as Sean could, he mustered it up to quickly reach his classmates. 'No wonder he doesn't go to school, it's so annoying,' thought Sean, who was seeing his classmate skipping school for the first time.

Sarah, who saw Sean who had reached Lora, could breathe a sigh of relief. At least Sean wouldn't ask about the stakes again. At least for the time being. Sarah also disappeared some distance from Lora-Sean. Then pretend to run towards them. Arriving there, Sarah was shocked to find Sean scolding Lora who was sitting on the grass beside the road.

"Are you lost your mind! Is this the mentality of the smartest girl in class? Huh!"

Lora was surprised to hear Sean raise his tone. Making herself unable to hold back her tears.

"Move over there stupid. You're getting her into a mess. Sean sucks."

Sarah pushed Sean's shoulder aside. So that she could talk to Lora.

"Lora, are you okay? Hey, tell me something, Lora."

Lora was unable to answer. She roared even more in tears. Sarah can't help but takes Lora into her arms.

A while later, after Lora's crying subsided. And she wants to talk to Sarah. Lora broke her hug to Sarah.

"Are you okay?" Sarah asked in a soft tone. Although at the human age Sarah looks younger. But in fact, Lora is 3 years younger. That's why, Sarah looks so mature compared to Lora, who in the human world is her senior.

"I'm fine. Thank you. I'll just go. I don't want to trouble you."

"Are you sure, Lora?"

"Yes. Thank you again. I'll say goodbye."

"You don't want to tell me why you wanted to do such a stupid thing?"

Lora turned around. She looked doubtfully at Sarah as well as Sean who stared at her irritably.

"That ... I ... I ..."

"Sit down," Sarah said softly to the girl in front of her.

Sean heard it just rolled his eyes lazily, then walked away to his room.

Lora is currently in Sarah and Sean's apartment. After an extraordinary argument occurred between Sarah and Sean, Sean finally forced to allow Sarah to invite Lora.

"Would you like something to drink?" Sarah asked as she opened the refrigerator.

Lora shook her head. "No, I'm not thirsty."

"Don't hesitate, Lora. You must be thirsty after you cry."

Sarah walked over to the place where Lora was sitting with a glass of orange juice. Then she gave the glass to Lora which Lora immediately finished half of its contents.

"Have you calmed down?"

Lora nodded. "Am I bothering you?" asked Lora, looking down uncomfortably.

"No, Lora. I'm glad I could help."

"Does that mean you care for me?" asked Lora in a slightly excited tone.

Sarah smiled gently then nodded.

"Finally someone cares about me," said Lora, rubbing her puffy eyes.

Sarah knitted her brows in confusion. "So, what made you act stupid like that?"

"Why are you the same as Sean who said I was stupid?" asked Lora irritably.

Sarah chuckled. "So?"

"That ... My parents are going to divorced," replied Lora who couldn't hold back her tears anymore.

"Can't you just cry? You girl," Sean sneered sarcastically as he crossed the living room toward the kitchen.

Lora's cries grew louder after hearing Sean's words.

"Shut up, Sean. You're only going to make her cry louder." Sarah scolds Sean.

"I'm sorry, Sarah." Lora looked down again uncomfortably.

"It's okay, Lora. Don't keep apologizing. Just let that idiot Sean talk as he pleases. Don't mind him," Sarah said soothingly.

"I heard it, Sarah Caroline Reeves," Sean shouted again from the kitchen.

"You shut up for a moment, Sean. Let Lora tell me."

It's quiet. Lora wiped away the tears using the back of her hand.

"Then, why did they separate?" asked Sarah again.

"I don't know. I have no one now."

"Why are you talking like that?"

"When my parents separated, I didn't have anyone. In the past, my family was a mess. They used to fight when I was at home. 

I'm an only child, but none of them care about me. They're just busy with their life. their respective business. I just need their love, time with them. Never even for breakfast or dinner together. And you know? I have no friends at all," explained Lora with a sad smile.

"Are you kidding me? You're the daughter of the school owner. How could you have no friends?" Sarah asked in surprise. Lora is the daughter of the school owner, the daughter of the rich. Surely many want to be friends with her, right?

"That's exactly that, Sarah. They are not sincere friends with me. They want to be friends with me because I'm the daughter of the school owner, and I'm the daughter of a rich person. They are only happy with what I have, not with me," Lora replied sadly.

"They often accompany me when in the canteen. But, after I paid for their food, they acted as if they weren't my friends," explained Lora, occasionally wiping her tears that were still dripping.

"Am I not your friend?" Sarah asked with a wry smile.

"Sure, Sarah. You're my only really sincere friend. But—"

"But what?"

"But sometimes you scare me, Sarah. You're just like Sean. Cold. And it's really scary when you're angry."

Sarah laughed out loud.

"Don't be surprised, Lora. That's just what I am. Don't be afraid."

Lora grinned.

"But I'm so grateful when you care for me."

"All right. Looks like it's time for dinner. Sean must be preparing dinner for us. Would you like to join us?"

Lora shook her head. "I'm not hungry. But ..." said Lora hanging.

"But?"

"Do you have a chocolate drink?" asked Lora sheepishly.

"Yes, there is. Why?"

"I want hot chocolate, Sarah. That's usually what I drink at times like this, so I can relax."
