Chapter 10: So Close

Lucia's POV

I woke up surrounded by silk sheets and a comforter. Getting up from the bed, I looked around the unfamiliar room, wondering where am I. The last thing that I remembered is when he carried me out of that forest. Maybe I lose consciousness while i'm in his arms. I suddenly remember him. Morgan. Where is he?

He saved my life. I should thank him. But I don't know how. I'm scared that he might get pissed again. And did he brought me here? Why here? I didn't expect to wake up in such luxurious room. Emerald green walls, carpeted floor, dark wood furnitures, and the four post bed with the same emerald green silk hanging all around the top. Very different from the room that I'm staying with Eris.

Napadaing ako sa sakit nang sinubukan kong tumayo. Naalala ko bigla ang nga sugat na natamo ko sa aking likod. I can't forget that moment. Mas napatunayan ko sa mga panahon na iyon na hindi nga sila mga tao. I saw it with my two eyes, how he transformed from human into a werewolf. It's horrifying.

I suddenly remember the huge grey wolf. Morgan's wolf.

It's larger than that filthy wolf. I saw how scared he was when Morgan's wolf growled at him warningly. No doubt, he's really the alpha king. His commanding and intimidating aura says it all.

Napalingon agad ako sa pinto nang marinig ko itong bumukas.

"Lucia!" agad kong nasilayan ang maamong mukha ni Blake na tumatakbo papunta sa akin. Napadaing ako nang yakapin niya ako ng mahigpit.

"Sorry Lucia" lumayo agad siya at yumuko.

"Anong ginagawa mo dito Blake?" mahinang tanong ko. He looked at me and my heart swelled when I saw his teary eyes.

"I s-aw my brother carrying y-you. Wala kang malay at duguan ka" he sobs. "I thought I will never be able to see my only friend again"

I immediately pulled him in my arms.

"Ayos lang ako Blake. Nakikita mo pa rin naman ako ngayon diba?" I joked. Trying to make him feel better. Pinunasan ko ang luha niya at nginitian siya.

"I'm so happy that you're alive" he said happily. This kid and his innocence.

I spend my whole time in that room with Blake. May nagdala ng pagkain ko sa silid at sinabihan ako na bawal pa ako lumabas. Magpahinga na raw muna ako. Buti nalang at kasama ko si Blake kaya hindi ako masyadong nabagot.

Hindi ko na namalayan ang oras dahil masyado akong naaliw sa pag k-kwento ni Blake tungkol sa mga laruan niya at librong nabasa niya. He looks so happy. I suddenly wonder how Morgan's relationship with him. Where are their parents? This kid is too precious to feel lonely in such young age.

Ilang oras din kaming magkasama bago siya sunduin ulit nung lalaking tinawag niyang Randall. Nag r-rant na naman ito tungkol sa pagtakas ni Blake. Hindi pala siya nagpaalam. I just smiled when he waived me goodbye. Such a stubborn kid.

Dahan dahan akong tumayo sa kama at lumapit sa may pinto. I tried to open it but it's lock. Bumuntong hininga ako at bumalik sa kama. Humiga ako dito at tumitig sa mataas na kisame.

I sighed heavily.

I'm in the pack house.

Why did he brought me here? Dapat ay nasa apartment ako ngayon at kasama si Eris. Slaves and omegas should stay at the apartments. Naalala ko bigla si Eris. Baka nag aalala na yon sa akin. Nilibot ko ang paningin ko at napatigil sa orasan na nakasabit sa dingding. 3:57 pm.

Nanlaki ang mga mata ko. Ganoon ba ako katagal nakatulog? At gaano ba kami katagal nag usap ni Blake?

I need to get out of here. I'm sure Eris is already looking for me.

Bumangon ulit ako at sinubukang buksan ang pinto. Nang ayaw pa rin nitong bumukas ay kinatok ko na kung sino man ang taong nasa labas.

"Hello? Please palabasin niyo na po ako dito" pakiusap ko ngunit walang sumagot. Kinatok ko ito ng paulit ulit ngunit wala pa ding nagbubukas. Tumigil lang ako nang mapagod na. I sighed again and headed back to the bed.

What am I supposed to do here?

My eyes snapped back at the door when I heard it opened. A mascular man stepped into the room. He had a clean cut brown hair and hazel eyes. He's wearing a faded jeans, black boots and a tight fitting white shirt. I remember his face. It's the man from the pack's clinic. If I remember it right, he's beta Klaus.

"From now on you'll be staying here" he said with his deep voice. My eyes widened.

"But why? I'm supposed to be at the apartments"

"Ikaw na ang magiging taga pangalaga ni Blake simula ngayon. The prince requested it" he sat on the chair not far from my bed.

Napakunot ang noo ko.

"Bakit naman? Kailangan ko nang umalis dito. Panigurado ay hinahanap na ako ng roommate ko"

"The prince seems got attached to you, that's why. Tatanggihan mo ba ang ang request ng isang bata? Poor Blake. No one wants him" he acted like he's hurt. Blake's happy face suddenly flashed in my mind. I don't want him to think that I don't like him. Surely, he'll get hurt.

"No of course I won't do that. Blake have a special place in my heart now but please just let me talk to my roommate. Baka nag aalala na siya" he chuckled when he heard my answer. It's like he's expecting me to say that.

"You can. Tomorrow. But for now, you need to stay here and rest. We already informed her so you don't have to worry about her" he said. Napahinga naman ako ng maluwag sa sinabi niya. Naglakad siya papunta sa isang pinto sa loob ng silid na hindi ko napansin na naandon pala. He opened it.

"Here's the wardrobe. Here are some clothes you can change into. The bathroom is right there" he pointed another door at the right side of the room.

"You need to accompany Blake for dinner" he said before leaving the room. I sighed heavily. What's happening? Last time nasa apartment lang ako tapos ngayon nandito na. Magiging taga pangalaga pa ako ng mahal na prinsipe. Why's everything happening so suddenly?

My mind can't take it. I feel so exhausted.

Tumayo nalang ako sa kama at pumunta sa banyo. Maybe a good bath will help me relax. Flicking on the lights, the bathroom was neat and clean. It was simple but beautiful. There's a clear glass door, a shower and a bath tub. Right next to me is a sink with a mirror over it.

I started to strip and filled the tub with water. Nang nasa katamtamang dami na ang tubig ay pumasok na ako dito. Inaasahan ko na ang sakit na mangangaling sa likod ko ngunit walang dumating. The hot water felt good on my skin. It's soothing. Sinara ko ang mga mata ko at dinama ang mainit na tubig na nakapalibot sa buong katawan ko.

Naisip ko kung anong magiging kahihinatnan ng buhay ko dito. I really thought they will kill me. But instead, I'm here in this comfortable room. Napag desisyunan kong umiwas nalang kay Morgan dahil hindi ko nagugustuhan ang mga nararamdaman  ko tuwing malapit siya, pero parang mas lalo lang kaming pinaglalapit. Ano ba talagang mayroon sa kan'ya? Ang alam ko lang ay kailangan kong lumayo sa kan'ya. He's not just an alpha. But the alpha king. It's dangerous to be associated with him.

I sighed as I pulled myself from the tub. Kinuha ko ang malambot na tuwalya sa rack malapit sa pinto. Sinuot ko ito at napatingin sa salamin. I stared at my hazel brown eyes that I didn't got from both of my parents. My mom and dad's eyes are black. My mom said that maybe I got my grandparents' eyes. But I didn't really got a chance to see them nor their pictures. I also have long black hair and pale white skin. My upturned eyes didn't matched my mom's chinky eyes and my dad's round eyes. I got small narrow nose and red lips. I don't know why my lips are always red, but I never wore lipsticks. I sighed and headed outside the bathroom.

Binuksan ko ang pintuan papasok sa closet at sinuri ang mga damit dito.

Why all the clothes here are all dresses?

I have no other choice that's why I just chose a simple white dress. Pumunta ako sa harap ng tukador at nagsuklay. Napasulyap ako sa balkonahe at nakitang palubog na ang araw. Napatagal yata ako sa pagbabad sa tubig.

Lumapit ako sa balkonahe at binuksan ang sliding door nito. Sumalubong sa akin ang malakas na hangin. Mas lalo pa akong lumabas at humawak sa railing. It's so peaceful here. Sana ganito nalang palagi. I closed my eyes. Dinadama ang hangin na tumatama sa mukha ko.

I stiffened when I felt someone's presence behind me. My heart suddenly beats wildly. This feeling...

Agad akong humarap sa likod ko at nakita ko nga siya. Morgan.

Our eyes immediately locked. Palubog na ang araw at ang ilaw na nangangaling dito ang dahilan upang makita ko ang mukha niya ng maayos. I was blown away by his features. His deep forest green eyes reflecting the light behind me. He's incredibly mascular and has slightly tanned skin with gelled back black hair and a chiseled jaw. He's breathtaking.

Naglakad siya palapit sa akin. Hindi pinuputol ang titigan namin. My body tensed. Halos magdikit na kami. I can feel the warmth that's coming from him. He have this gentle look in his eyes.

"I'm glad you're already awake" he whispered. I can feel his breath on my cheeks. He's so close.

My mind was now in haze. Pinikit ko ang mga mata ko para pakalmahin ang sarili ko.

"Please be careful next time" he said. Before I felt a lips touched my forehead. I sucked on my breath as I felt the sparks run through me. My heart beats faster than before.

Hindi nagtagal ay naramdaman kong nawala na ang presensya niya. Napamulat agad ako at napahawak sa dibdib ko. Nanghihinang napakapit ako sa railing. What was that?

Why does he always have this kind of effect on me?
