Chapter 12: Strange Bonding

Desmond sat in the garden with his fair delicate long fresh legs crossed together. He was putting on a blue short knicker, and a plain white round neck shirt. 

He was enjoying the cool morning fresh air with a hot coffee in his hand, when he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his palms. The mug dropped and broke. All of a sudden, his fists started clenching so tight that he couldn't control them.

"What's happening with my hands? Why are my fists clenching when I'm not angry?" He murmured to himself while trying to force open it but all to no avail.

Desmond ran inside to take his medicine as usual but was surprised by what he saw when he walked pass the mirror in a hurry. He stopped in his tracks and walk back slowly to the mirror.

He saw another reflection that differ from his usual self in the mirror. A pure white werewolf with red swollen eyes was crying profusely in a corner of a room. He moved closer to the mirror and was about to touch it when he realized that his fists has finally opened...

When Helen got closer to Kathryn, she sees nothing in her eyes except for her eye balls that were red and she was crying with sweat all over her body. 

"It's okay my dear!" Helen hugged her from behind.

"I told you he doesn't love me. He was only pretending just because he knew i am the guardian angel of his beloved Alpha." Kathryn hugged her mom back like a baby.

"Shhhhh it's okay baby!! Your dad truly loves you. Even if he wasn't talking to us then, he made sure to sent you to one of the best schools in the city just so you can have a better life. And he provided all our needs." Helen said calmly as she pat her head.

"What about the love, care, and attention he deprived me of?" Kathryn asked and raised her head to look at her mom. 

*Sighed deeply*

Helen sighed and hold her hands; "That's what he is trying to do now. He really wants to make it up to you from now on. So please, give him the chance he deserves just because of me."

Kathryn couldn't bring herself to say no to her mom with the way she is staring into her eyes. "Alright Mom!"

"Believe me Kathryn, you being the guardian doesn't have anything to do with why i apologized to you earlier. Have been longing to talk to you for a while now, but couldn't summon the courage because i was ashamed of what i did. I'm truly sorry dear." Peter apologize sincerely.

Kathryn wiped away her tears and turned to her father. "But I'm sorry dad, i won't be able to help you in finding the Alpha. I would be going back to Hillsboro tomorrow to resume to my new job."

"It's alright dear. I just want you to know your status so you can be more careful from now on because things seems to be getting uglier now. But i promise to always protect you." Peter assured her. 

"What do you mean by that?" Helen asked with a raised brow.

Peter explained to them all what Vincent told him concerning the doctor's death and his suspicion about Federico. He told them to be more careful now especially Kathryn that is going to Hillsboro which he won't be there to  protect her always. 

"So which company hired you?" Peter suddenly ask.

"Harry Group of Company, popularly known as HGC." Kathryn replied with an exciting tone.

"HGC?" Peter was shocked.

"Yes dad!"

"I was told the Alpha has some connection with that company. So be extra careful with whoever you deals with over there. Okay?"

Kathryn was surprised when she heard her father. She thought of threading softly in the company whenever she resumes.

"I understand, thanks dad! I have to go to my room now." Kathryn hugged them both and return to her room...

Immediately Desmond placed his hand on the mirror, what he saw in there changed back to his own reflection.

"What's really happening? Am i hallucinating or what?" He walked away from the mirror to take his drugs as usual....

**Two days later**

Kathryn woke up very early in the morning, and started humming very low in order not to wake her friend up as she get prepared for work. After she took her bath, she went over to the wardrobe to take the outfit she specially set aside since last night.

She put on a black long pant and a white shirt with a black suit jacket. She matched it with a white heel and a peach handbag containing some documents she would be needing. 

Her hair was tied in a bun with a light natural makeup on her face. She was looking breathtaking with her delicate fair skin.

She reminded herself what brought her here and promised to give her best in whatever task she would be assigned to. Then she step out and head for work...

It took her about an hour before she finally got to work. She was about opening the door when she suddenly saw a car drove into the company's entrance.

She turned to see who it is, but was surprised to see Desmond who was just arriving with his personal assistant as they hopped out of the car. 

He was wearing a light gray dress shirt with a pair of nice navy blazer and blue jeans. Added with a black monk strap shoe. He has a low fade haircut which makes him look more appealing to the eyes.

"Good morning Sir!" Kathryn waved her hand and greeted him with a smile.

Desmond stood besides his car dipping his both hands into his pocket to scan her from head to toe. 

"So cheap!" He murmured to himself as he glare at her intensely with disgust.

"Good morning sir!" 

A familiar sweet tiny voice was heard behind Desmond. He quickly changed his expression to a gentler one as he and Kathryn turned to see who it was.

"Morning miss Hannah." Desmond responded as if he has just seen an angel. 

Hannah is dressed in a black slight A-line skirt, and a deep blue Lycra short sleeved top with a black heel. Her hair was let loose down to her shoulder with a touch of light makeup on her face.

"This is what i call high class" Desmond says to himself in a low tone without any one hearing. 

"Hope I'm not going to have a problem with this CEO. He doesn't seems to like me right from the day i came for interview." Kathryn was thinking out loud as she steps inside first leaving Desmond and Hannah all alone.
