Chapter 10: Reunify

Peter brain stutters for a moment and his eyes take in more light than he expected, every part of him goes on pause while his thoughts catch up. He was already lost in his thought when he suddenly heard; 

"Hellooo, are you there?"

Peter remained silent for a minute before he finally utter something. "What are you talking about?"

"It's nothing. Have a nice rest." Federico replied and hangs up immediately without  giving room for reply from the other end.

Peter became restless as he start pacing around the room with a lot of thoughts in his mind. He was thinking on how he needs to act fast since Federico already knew about the Alpha.

"Federico definitely know something. Or could he be behind everything that's happening? No way! I really need to start acting fast on this issue. I need to get to the Alpha first!!" 

Peter says to himself and heads back downstairs to join Vincent and his wife at the dinning table to eat.

After Federico hangs up, he dropped his phone on the table as he turned to look at Hannah; 

"I said it, Peter already knew about the Alpha. We need to find him any time soon before the Morgan's family gets to him." Federico said all worried.

"Exactly dad! But what about the doctor you said you're gonna talk to?" Hannah asked.

"He's been murdered"

"What!!! Who killed him?" Hannah was shocked.

"I don't know. The person made it look like he committed suicide, but i could tell that he was murdered." Federico responded calmly.

"But dad, hope Mr Peter isn't behind it?"

Federico let out a chuckle and hold onto Hannah's right hand. 

"I know Peter very well, he can't do such a thing. Though, I'm so sure he would be thinking that I'm behind it because of the way i sounded on phone. Not knowing i just wanted to confirm about the Alpha existence."

Hannah let out a sigh as she removes her hand from her father's and stood up; "Don't trust anybody dad. I will talk to you later, i need to go do something." Then she leaves...

*Next Morning*

Peter left Hillsboro for Bend as early as six o'clock in the morning. When he got home, he went straight to the kitchen to meet Helen.

"Good morning dear" Peter hugged her unaware and place a light kiss on her neck from behind. 

Helen was astonished as she turned to look at her husband in amazement; "Morning! How was your trip?" 

"It was cool but didn't get what I wanted. That reminds me, have you talked to Kathryn?" 

"She's back home" Helen replied.

"When?" Peter was surprised.

"She came back after you left yesterday."

"Oh okay! I need to go talk to her right now alone. Okay?" Peter said to Helen who only nods her head in agreement. Then he walks away from her and heads to Kathryn room.

Kathryn was in her room packing her stuff, and getting prepared fully to go back to Hillsboro. Then she heard someone knocking at her door. 

"Come in! the door is open" Kathryn replied without turning back to see who was there. She was busy packing her clothes from the wardrobe and folding them into the travelling box that was on the bed.

"Good morning Kathryn!"

Kathryn paused what she was doing at the moment immediately she heard the unusual familiar coarse voice. She turned to see the man she has been spending almost all her life to please in every way just to yearn his love and attention.

She stood there staring at him. Not knowing what to do next after he greeted her first. This has never happened ever since she knew him as her father. 

Kathryn felt like moving closer to him, and throw herself in his arms; because that's what she has always wanted doing to him. 

But when she remembered all the pains she and her mom had to go through because of him, she felt nothing but hatred towards him at that moment.

"Morning Sir" Kathryn replied nonchalantly as she continue what she was doing. 

Peter felt uneasy seeing how his daughter is behaving like a stranger towards him. He sat on her bed and kept on staring at what she was doing. 

Seeing that Kathryn isn't paying attention to him, he had no option than to start the conversation himself; "Can you stop what you're doing at the moment? Because we need to talk!"

Kathryn dropped the shoe in her hands on the floor. While she sat at the other edge of the bed staring at her father. 

"I'm all ears" She replied with a frown.

"I don't have much to say dear. I know you're really mad at me Kathryn. There's nothing i can say or do to justify all my past mistakes that i have committed towards you and your mother. All i want from you right now is your forgiveness... Forgive me my child."

Peter couldn't control the tears anymore as they started strolling down his cheeks slowly. Kathryn saw how sincere he is with his pleading, and couldn't take it anymore when she sees his tears.

"It's alright! Have forgiven you dad. Just because i didn't turn out to be the Alpha you've always wanted doesn't mean i won't be useful to you in other ways." Kathryn said with an extreme pain in her voice.

"I understand your pain dear. You just have to forgive me. Hence, I promised to change for the better."

Kathryn felt everyone deserves a second chance, so she's willing to give her dad the second chance he deserves. Peter became relived after sorting out their differences and couldn't wish for something more than this. 

"Can i get a hug from you?" Peter suddenly said with an open arms towards his daughter.

Kathryn couldn't control how happy she is when she heard him. Without giving it a second thought, she stood up immediately and threw herself in his arms. She place her head on his wide broaden chest, and felt the warmth.

Tears of joy started streaming down her cheeks uncontrollably; "I love you dad!" She suddenly said without having an idea when it slipped out from her mouth.

Peter raised her head and wiped away her tears. They hugged for about some minutes before Kathryn finally let go of him and returned to where she sat. 

"Let me leave you alone for now. Come to the sitting room when you're done because there's something important i want to talk to you and your mom about." Peter said and heads out...
