Chapter 9: Unforseen Circumstances

Desmond turned to look who it was, but was surprised by who he saw. "Miss Hannah" 

Hannah let out a chuckle as she move closer to him and stretch out her hand to him; "Nice to see you again Sir."

"My pleasure" Desmond replied as he shake her hand. 

After they exchanged pleasantries, they both stood there staring at each other before Hannah finally break the silence. "What are you doing here Sir?" 

"To welcome a business partner. And you?" 

"I've been hired. So, i thought of coming to stay in Hill-----" Hannah hasn't finish what she's saying before Desmond cut in. 

"Oh! I apologize for asking since it's obvious why you're here. Congratulations on your new post" He said with a smile.

"All thanks to you Sir. Because i know you made it possible."

Desmond was glad to see how reserved she is and he is somehow happy he recommended her; "Not at all Miss Hannah, you don't have to thank me. You got the job because of your brilliance." 

"Alright Sir but i still appreciate you. And If you don't mind, i would like to take my leave because my cab is actually waiting for me outside." 

"Sure you can! See you at work on Monday." 

Hannah bid him farewell and exit the door, whilst Desmond kept on staring at her till he couldn't see her traces anymore. Then he went over to meet who he came there for.

It was already late when Peter got to Vincent place. They both greeted each other with a tight hug immediately they sees. After the greetings, Vincent introduced his wife to Peter and told him their children are currently in school for now. 

After the pleasantries, they both heads upstairs to the guest room to continue what they were discussing on the phone earlier. 

"Have your sit!" Vincent pointed to the couch inside the bedroom while he sit too.

"Thanks! So, what information did you acquire about the Alpha?" Peter asked with a full concentration. 

"Well Peter, You know the message i sent to you was about the full prophecy and Kathryn being the guardian angel of the Alpha who is currently in Hillsboro?" 

"Yes!" Peter replied in all seriousness.

"One of my men already found the doctor that used to be the family doctor to the parent of the Alpha some years back." 

"Wow! that's a great news... Where is the doctor right now?" Peter asked as he smiles at him.

Vincent was silent for a moment before he continues; "We were supposed to meet him again today for the full details of the family, but unfortunately, he already committed suicide before we got to his place."

"What!! Suicide? How did that happen?" Peter was surprised.

"I don't know either. But i don't think he committed suicide, he was murdered!"

"Murdered!! Why do you think so?"

Vincent stood up and went over to the drawer and brought out some pictures; "Here, have a close look at them very well. Some thing seems strange on his thigh." He handed the pictures to Peter. 

Peter collected it and stares at them for a couple of times before he raised his head to look at Vincent. 

"You're right, he was murdered!"

"I knew it," Vincent paused and return to his sit. Then he continue; "But who could have done such a horrible thing?" He asked with a frown.

"Someone who already knows about the Alpha existence and doesn't want the secret to be out." Peter replied with an icy glare. 

"Oooops that's bad then. How do we go about it now? Because I'm sure the person would have found out about us." Vincent asked as he feels scared already.

"We can't be so sure about anything yet. Did you get any information from the doctor the first day you met?" Peter suddenly ask. 

"Not really. He only told me that, the child is here in Hillsboro and he has some connection with HGC. I think that's all he mentioned." Vincent seems confused and was trying to remember their conversation. 

"HGC?" Peter asked...

"Yeah! It's one big company here in Hillsboro. The full name is, Harry Group of Company. Then the doctor told me to come back today for the full information because he was busy that very day."

"Oh okay! I will try and look into it as soon as possible. You just have to do something for me now." Peter suddenly said.

"What is it?" Vincent asked.

"Stay low for now. Don't investigate on any thing please. I will take it from here, Okay?"

"Okay! I understand. Moreover, the police are looking into it already." Vincent assured him and Peter feel relieved at the mention of police. 

"That's good then. I would be leaving for Bend tomorrow morning. So can i sleep over here tonight?" Peter asked.

"Are you seriously asking me? Common it's your home, so feel free. Let me go and check on what they're preparing downstairs. I would be back soon." 

Vincent left him all alone in the room as he went back downstairs. Peter was trying to remove his jacket when his phone started ringing. He picked it up from the couch but was surprised when he sees whose calling;

"What do you want?" Peter asked angrily as he answered the call.

"Oh my dear friend Peter! Why do you sounds so angry with me? Courtesy demand that, you should at least say Hello first whenever you pick up a call." A gravelly, slow-paced voice of an aged man was heard from the other end.

Peter was immediately pissed off when he called him his friend; "First of all Federico, we aren't friends. Stop talking to me as if we are because it's pissing me off. Secondly, didn't i warned you to stop calling my number? What do you want?"

"Well, after all this years, i thought you would have changed but it seems i was totally wrong. You're still the same Peter as before. I just want to wish you good luck in finding the Alpha." He said cunningly.

Federico intentionally mention the "Alpha" Just to figure out what's going on. And just as he expected, Peter was shocked and couldn't say anything...
