Chapter 15: Unfriendly Partners

By the time he got out, the person is no where to be found. 

"I can't be mistaken, i heard the shutter of a camera!" Desmond tried looking his left and right side to check very well, but all he saw were few people roaming around the street.

He returned back inside to meet Hannah. "Sorry for leaving abruptly, I actually went to confirm something." He apologized to her as he sit. 

"I understand!" Hannah smiled at him. 

They both talked and laughed at some jokes Hannah said about her school days as it lighten the mood. Desmond felt really relaxed and happy around her; since it has been long he last felt like this.

When it's past ten pm, Hannah stood up and prepares to leave. "It's late already, i have to go now."

Desmond stood up too and helped her with her hand bag that was on the couch. "Here, have it!" He handed it to her.

"Thanks Desmond."

"But if you don't mind, i would like to go and drop you at home." Desmond suggested.

"Oh, i will really appreciate that but, hope your girlfriend won't be angry that you stayed out too late?" She intentionally asked without meeting his eyes.

Desmond let out a chuckle. "Girlfriend? That's a good topic for another day. So lets go..." He responded as he leads the way out while Hannah followed him...

**Next Day**

Kathryn got to the office very early the next day to start the preparation of her task. She has to go through a lot of files, and search some things on the internet just to make sure she succeed.

She was still busy in her office when someone came to tell her that Desmond is calling her. She left what she was doing and went over to his office.

"Good morning sir! You called for me?" She asked while trying to sit on the chair.

"And when did i tell you to sit?" He glare at her angrily. She apologized and stood up immediately.

"What the heck did you request for in here?" Desmond asked as he hold the file while pointing it at her.

"Those are the things i would be needing for my task." She replied calmly.

"A team? Minimum of 4 people? Are you seriously kidding me or what?" He said with a grin.

"This task requires a team that's why i requested for it!"

"Sorry to inform you that, i will have to decline your request!" He slammed the file on the table.

"Why sir?" Kathryn tried to control her anger too. 

"As you can see, the launching is fast approaching. Almost every one in the company is busy doing something else for the launching." He replied with a frown.

"I knew it will come to this!" Kathryn said inwardly as she walked out of the office.

She was on her way to her office when she met Jack coming towards her. "Miss Kathryn!" He calls out to her.

Kathryn ignored him and continues walking. Jack moved closer to her and tried apologizing for what happened yesterday. She only turned to glare at him as she enters her office and slammed the door to his face.

"What an attitude!!" Jack said to himself and heads to Desmond office. 

Desmond was on the phone when Jack just barged in without knocking. Jack over heard him telling the person he's calling to carry-on with the blood transfusion before he quickly hangs up immediately he saw him. 

"What is wrong with you Jack? Haven't i told you guys to always knock before coming into my office?" He yelled at him with anxiety.

"I'm sorry sir... It won't repeat itself."

"Always apologizing!!" Desmond stroke his forehead with his right hand gently, and drop his phone on the table. Then he continues;

"I called you because i want you and miss Kathryn to work together for the upcoming launching."

"The new marketer?" Jack was surprised.

"Yes! She said she needs someone on her team, so I'm assigning you to her. Any problem with that?" Desmond asked when he saw the unpleasant look on Jack's face.

"Not at all sir. But i thought our jobs are quite different. She's a marketer, while i works at the HR (Human Resources)." Jack replied with a chuckle. 

"It doesn't matter Jack. Just do what i asked of you. Isn't just for three weeks or so? please do it." Desmond got tired of his argument.

Jack felt it wasn't a good idea, but Desmond insisted. So, he had no option than to agree with him since he is the boss. After they concluded on their discussion, Jack left.

"I need to get rid of this two for once! They're getting on my nerves almost every day." Desmond said inwardly as he picks up his phone to continue making his call.

**At the old temple**

An aged man of around fifty years old was kneeling and bowing down his head in a big old temple surrounded with water. He was observing some prayers when a young man entered with an envelope, and kneeled at his back. 

"I got him!" The young man slowly pushed the envelope towards him.  

He was about to start talking, when the aged man turned his head angrily and made a sign by putting his finger on the lips to shut him up. 

Immediately he saw how furious the aged man was, he shut himself up. After about some minutes, the aged man finishes his prayer and turned to sit.

"Haven't i told you to never interrupt me whenever I'm praying? Haven't i, Andrew?" He asked as he sit.

"You did! Sorry sir." Andrew apologized with a bow as he sits across him also.

The man picked up the envelope and brought out some pictures to view them.

"This is him right?" He pointed at someone in the picture while showing it to Andrew.

"Absolutely sir!"

"What information did you acquire about him also?" He asked as he kept on checking out the pictures.

"He is actually the one who has been kidnapping our men and some Omega, using them for experiments. But i haven't gotten the main location he has been taking them to." Andrew replied while he was boiling inside.

"Good then! Keep investigating."

"Do we attack him now?" Andrew suddenly asked with anger.

"Don't be unreasonable! Just do as i ordered you without involving any rash decision." The man glared at him with a frown and returned the pictures back into the envelope.

"Alright boss. I would like to take my leave now!"

The man only waved his hand telling him to leave. After Andrew left, the man stood up and walked out of the temple...

That was actually Henry Josh. The second oldest son of the Josh's family, and also part of Beta pack. 

He left his family and their city  some years ago when he discovered that, Federico, his elder brother was planning to kill him because of his strong unknown power that supersede Federico's power...
