Chapter 6:- Playing in the park

I stood there staring at him for a long time. It seemed like, that the surrounding doesn't mattered to us anymore. The rain have stopped, but we kept holding on to our umbrellas.

"Dear..wait! You forgot to take the change", the old lady's voice snapped both of us out of our daze.

I quickly turned to the old lady, trying to hid my blushing face from Ho-Jun. 

'What the hell was I doing, staring at him like that', I thought to myself.

The old lady held out her hand to give me the change. 

"Ahh, t-thank you". In return, the old lady gave me smile and went inside the shop.

As I turned to see, I saw Ho-Jun still standing there, looking at me.

"H-Ho-jun, why are you here??", I asked looking everywhere except his eyes.

"I came to take a walk", he replied.

"Oh I see".

A silent fell between us, then I noticed that the rain has stopped and a bright Sun have came out. I closed my umbrella and looked at Ho-Jun, who also did the same.

"S-so, how's your hand??", I asked.

"Well, it's fine".

"Oh nice".

Again a silent fell between us. I didn't knew why I was feeling so awkward, I decided to leave.

"So, Ho-Jun I'm gonna leave now. See you". 

As I said that, I turned to leave.

"Miss Kim, wait!!", suddenly Ho-Jun said, as I turned to see, I saw him making his way towards me and it made me nervous all of a sudden.

As he came near me, I noticed that he was so much taller than me, my head barely reached his chin. I looked up to him and I was stunned. I don't know why but I found his eyes so mesmerizing, my heart was beating loudly in my chest when I looked in his eyes. I don't know how but I found them quiet familiar, like I've seen them somewhere.

Ho-Jun's voice made me come back to my senses.

"Miss Kim, if you don't mind, can I ask you out for a cup of coffee", he suddenly said.

"Huh!??", I was stunned for a bit, to hear that.

I thought, I shouldn't go...after all, he was a stranger to me. I've only met him twice and it was not a good idea to go with a man whom I don't really know.

"Sorry Ho-Jun, but I don't think that's a nice idea", I replied calmly.

"Oh I see", he said in a soft voice. I could see sadness in his eyes and my heart hurt to see that look.

"Did you come for a walk alone??", I asked him, to change the topic.

"No, I came with my hyung, but he forgot his phone in the house, so he have gone back to take it".

"Oh I see. What will you do now then??".

"I don't know.... probably wait for him here to come back", he said while scratching his head.

"How about I wait with you here until he comes back??", after saying that, I myself was amazed at what I just said.

Ho-Jun eyes lit up when I said that.

"Yes, yes sure, why not", he said excitedly.

I let out a small giggle, when I heard his excited voice. He looked away, probably feeling shy, when he saw me laughing. I thought that it was pretty cute.

"How about we wait for him in the nearby park??", he suddenly offered.

"Ok".

With that we made our way to the park. It was only midday, so there weren't many people in the park at that time, only few women stood their gossiping.

We found ourselves an empty bench under a shed which was still dry even after the heavy rain. We sat their quietly, not saying a single word. Just then, I noticed the swing and the other rides in the park. God only knew....how much I wanted to ride in them.

As if, Ho-Jun have heard my inner thoughts, I soon heard him say.

"How about we go and ride in them??", he said while pointing towards the swings.

I widened my eyes at what I just heard.

"Are you crazy!? What will the people think?? Those are for kids and we are-----".

Ho-Jun suddenly took my hand and I wasn't able to finish what I was saying. I was dumbfounded when I saw him holding my hand and was making his way towards the swings.

"C'mon...who cares about what others will think, let's just enjoy ourselves".

And with that, he made me sit on the swing and started pushing me slowly. I would lie if I tell that I wasn't having fun. I noticed, people staring at us, but Ho-Jun wasn't bothered with those stares, I also ignored them and started to enjoy myself.

After sometime, Ho-Jun accompanied me, he sat on the other swing, right beside me. We were swinging happily, when I heard him say.

"Let's see...who can swing highest", Ho-Jun challenged.

"Then, be prepared to loose", I replied in a confident tone.

We were both lost in our own world, swinging very high. We both were screaming and laughing loudly, as the swings moved up and down quickly. 

I've to admit, that I didn't expect to have so much fun like this, again after all these years.

After enjoying ourselves for quiet awhile, we made our way back to the bench and sat down. We both were pretty exhausted from all that screaming and laughing.

"Aren't you feeling suffocating in that mask of yours", I asked while looking at him.

"N-no, I feel comfortable with it actually, when I'm outside".

I didn't say anything after that, neither did he, the quietness between us was not awkward anymore, it was quiet peaceful, like we were used to each other's presence.

"Why did you buy white lilies??", Ho-Jun suddenly asked.

"Ah, well....I like white lilies very much so...", I felt my face blush at what I just said.

"Oh I see. But what does white lilies symbolises".

"It's symbolises purity and rebirth".

"May I ask, why do you like them so much?? Is there any story behind it??", he asked sounding quiet curious.

"Well.....it's just a stupid meaning I came up by myself", I said shyly.

"And what's that??".

"Umm....I use it to symbolise my love for a certain person. That, my love for him will always be pure and after I'm reborn also, I'll keep loving him just like this", I said feeling very embarassed.

"Oh I see", he said in a deep voice.

I turned to look at him and couldn't make out why he sounded so strange just now. I didn't pondered with it and sat quietly beside him.

We were sitting quietly and watching people as they go by, when suddenly his phone rang. He picked up the phone.

"Hello! Hyung, where are you??", I heard him ask.

"Ok, I'm coming", he said before he hung up the phone and put it inside his coat.

"So, I guess your hyung is here", I said.

"Yes", he said, his voice barely audible.

"Ok, I'll get going then", I said, as I got up from the bench.

As I turned to leave, his voice suddenly came.

"Miss Kim, then I'll see you after few days for check-up".

I turned around and gave him a bright smile.

"Sure", I said at last and left, without looking back.

I watched her as she left, soon she was out of sight. I let out a sigh and made my way to where Taehyung was.

"Who was that girl just now??", Taehyung asked as I came to him.

"Oh! She's the girl who jumped in front of my car to save a little puppy and she's also my doctor, whose treating my hand you know".

"What!?", Taehyung exclaimed while sounding totally shocked.

"Yes".

"So, what were you guys doing together in the park??".

"We just met by chance and she offered to wait with me until you come back", I said causally.

"Ohh I see".

"What took you so long??", I asked while changing the topic.

"Well, as soon as I entered the apartment, I heard my phone ringing and it was from Jin hyung. So, I started to talk to him and was late".

"Oh ok. Let's head back now, I'm little tired now".

"Ok sure".

As we both made our way back, I suddenly remembered what Minji told me about the person she loves. I was curious, about the man, whom she loved.

'Is it that man whom I saw the other day in the hospital??', I thought.

As I looked back towards the park again, I suddenly remembered Minji childish laughs while playing on the swing and her vibrantly colorful, bright smile, she gave before she left.

As he thought about that, I couldn't help but smile behind my mask, completely forgetting about the man Minji loved. God only knows, what's happening to me.
