Chapter 5 The dreadful night

    The whole night, I had thought about the next day.I can't explain that each and every second of that night. Each and every second of night gave me curiosities I hoped the night to pass quickly and the tomorrow to come very early.

    After,  wholesome of sleeplessness night, I woke up next morning. As I was already in capital and was pregnant, I decided to go for check up.

    The doctor said that everything was fine but to take good care of everything but that was not troubling me. The thing that was troubling me was another matter.

     I was constantly looking at my watch, to see when the hour hand will strike at five.I was new to the capital, so I had trouble finding the exact location at first but the taxi brought me at that exact place and I reached there earlier than  five.

     At exactly five and twelve minutes, he came. He took me to through alleys, to a building and to the room of that building.

    To be honest,  I was scared to death at first. I had lots of thoughts that he might be tricking me,he might have some ulterior motives or maybe he might kill me.

    When we reached the room,  he looked around for a while and locked the room. When he locked the room,  I became more cautious.

    Then,  he opened one of the boxes .He opened that and took out the stuffs from there.

    "This one is of his. We shared the same quarter when we were on squad. He was the great person."

     He handed me his cap and continued,

    "He was the reason,  I wanted to be an army. "

    "Really,"I said. Actually, it didn't surprise me. I knew his nature.

     "Yes. You couldn't imagine what kind of person I was. Born in a rich family, I never cared about others. What I love in this world was only me. But, he taught me to live for others. He was really the person, I cherish  a lot. But... "

    "But... what? "

     "I never thought such person will have such a dreadful end. "

     "What do you mean by that? "

     "The day before his death, he was already injured and shot on his right leg.Even after that he insisted to be on the war and fight till last. He fought  bravely.At the evening, that day when everything seemed to calm down a bit,we rested on the places we were standing but that night we had sudden attack and lots of our soldiers were killed. Still,  we  had a victory. He was along with me all the time. When the bullet was fired from another side, it hit on my leg too and the another bullet I didn't imagine he would take it for me. It hit right to his leg which was injured the previous day and another to his stomach. But,  he was still breathing.He was in a lot of pain. After, everything calmed down..."

     "Then,  what? "

    "I laid unconscious somewhere far away but still could see him and when I woke up he was being buried,  alive.He was still breathing. Can you imagine, he was still breathing and they buried him alive.He was buried alive.. "

    I was speechless, my mind  was dull. Suddenly, my ears went dull and my body motionless.

    He was buried alive. Why? I came back to the senses when he shook my body,

    "Why? Why only he was buried there? Why only him? What had he done that he was buried when he was still breathing.Who did that? Why? "

    I started shouting and he closed my mouth with his hands and motioned me not to make noise.

    "There's more. Do you know who buried him? "

    "Our own captain Jim "

     "What? "

     Shhh... He ordered me to be quiet.

    Whatever he had told to me didn't make any sense to me.

    Why would his own brothers kill him ? They were all on the same team. Then,  why?

     "Why was he killed,  like that? "

     "I also couldn't get that reason. There were lots of soldiers who were unconscious and wounded but he was the one who was buried alive, by his own captain.I did a  crime, too. I saw it with my own eyes but my body was too weak to move that I could only see what he did that day? 

    With a teary voice, I said, "Why didn't you say anything, until now? "

    "Because, it's captain.I couldn't speak because it's him. Even if I tell no one was going to believe me. I had no proof to charge him. He is a real powerful person. I could do nothing. "

     "How could they do this to him? He was sincere and loyal to his country, How could he be rewarded like this? How could they? "

     Now,  no body could stop my tears. Nobody. I was more better yesterday, because I had hope, hope that until the dead body of my husband wasn't found that I wouldn't believe that he wasn't dead. I had thought that he must have lost only his leg or hand or any parts but he  would be alive but I never thought my husband who was always faithful and loyal,  was awarded with this kind of medal.

    I shut my mouth with both of my hands and cried really hard without making a sound.

    Jacob was there with his tearful eyes as well. He held me in his arms and patted me on my shoulders and cried himself too.

    "I'm also to be blamed. I hid it. I couldn't tell anyone. But when, you came here searching, I couldn't stop myself. I wanted to aware you. They're not something you could handle. You cannot fight with them. They are scary. "He kept on going but my eyesight started to fade away and in an instant I could see nothing.

     I didn't know when I fainted after that but I found myself on the hospital bed. And when I woke up,he Jacob was there. I laid emotionless there. I didn't what kind of emotion should I possess now. My heart started beating slowly and my mind hopeless. And suddenly, I remembered I was pregnant and I have my date next month.

    But right before that, I decided  to do something. To see captain Jim. But before I do that,My stomach started to pain and due to extreme stress my delivery which was supposed  to be on next month happened a month before.

     After, hours of painful process, gave birth,I gave birth to a girl....
